From experience, I think you're better off calling than emailing. Google him for his number...it's on HealthGrades.

Why not try this , get correspondence from a doctor in say Houston use it to pass POE and enter the country and then proceed to Austin.
That is what I would do if I was you.

the issue i have is that my host is based in Austin, if i use a doctor from Houston I might need to provide accommodation details

You did not state the costs...

Eilenora:
Hello Baes smiley

so I gev birth in 2014; thanks to all the help from Nairaland. I used Emory hospital Atlanta at the time with the following costs:

Now I am on missionary journey No.2 and have accommodation only in Nevada or New York. Please does anyone have any hospitals to refer to me with their experiences and costs? Hubby dey fear as we are obviously gonna spend x3 of what we did back in 2014 due to the exchange rate, which is why I want to stay with someone this time around as opposed to getting a rented accommodation like I did last time which made my costs more.

Also I got my renewed visa via drob box just last month. stating my purpose to be visiting. but with all this trump issues, does the change of intent still work? (i did this successfully in 2014 like many other mamas here) abeg no extra doh to go visiting and come back again before going to give birth.

All the best to all we October mamas. Kissessss

In that case go to www.healthpost.com and or www.healthgrades.com put in your host's zip code and look for OBGYN close by and start calling, one of them will most definitely send you e-mail correspondence.

A lot of women have gone on this trip without having anybody in the US,so that shouldn't be an issue for you.
I don't think it's absolutely necessary for you to notify the embassy since you have travelled with the visa,
The important thing here is to be prepared for poe, with all the necessary documents eg Dr and hospital correspondence, evidence to show that you can pay your bills, evidence of accommodation etc

Thank you so much for your reply, I will prepare all the doctors and hospital communication, I can easily arrange the Hotel booking and finacial proof.

Sorry.....

I used an external Obgyn called Dr. Tates. His charges were 1400. He is a Director on the board of Emory Hospitala nd very respected there. He was cheaper dan usin an Obgyn from the hospital.

Hospital fees was 3900 for natural and 5900 for C.S. but these charges are discounted, if paid well ahead of time.

I used Dunwoody Paedetrics. I paid $105.

Epidural was $425

Obgyn accepted my tests from Naija but other additional tests done cost $300

birth certf cost $20

Nign visa cos $350, they were having issues with printing passports and I was pressed for time so did a visa instead even tho it was mre expensive.

I got accommodation using air b n b.

Hope this helps?

Providing proof of accommodation is not a big deal. You can make free accommodation bookings on bookings.com and print out your booking notification email to show at poe

Giving all thanks to God.
My visa (gotten for a course n used for d course in 2014 n for childbirth in 2015) expired April 2016. I renewed via dropbox and got it back in a week. So happy I ddnt have to attend an interview. I'm really thankful.
I applied for B2 medical now, and put Dr's details as contact.

Please help me. I received a call from the US embassy this morning that i am needed for a 10 minutes interview. I applied for visiting visa in september, 2015 and had my baby in May 2016. I paid all my fees. I also didnt overstay. Now this call is coming this morning. Please has anybody been called and what was the interview about.

Your visa should still be valid till September 2017. Why did u choose to renew now though?

I opened an account with bank of America yesterday. Jus passport, before then Wells Fargo asked for secondary identification, of either debit or credit cards bearing same name as passport, international drivers licence, SSN. I didn't have any of those as my debit cards are still bearing my maiden name and the others my surname comes first... it depends on the branch. I just prayed for favour after they bounced me in wells Fargo as I was entering BOA..
Swisstk:
Encountered the same issue....still bank hunting. They said it's a new policy.

There is no need to defend that. You can choose to bear your maiden name after marriage. Oyinbo don't reason that way. Just go along with proof of your marriage I.e your marriage certificate.

All the best

Prof of what? The only thing you need is an I'd card, which could be your international passport or drivers license or both in some instances.

PR =Proof of permanent residence
I guess it's difficult to open an account in New York if you're not a permanent resident. I went to several banks in New York and Na the same story. Will do it when I get to El Paso. Thanks

I got a US visa in Feb 2014, didn't travel that year cos I got pregnant n lost the baby with a complication. Got pregnant again after 2 months and decided to have the baby in US Aug 2015. Paid all my bills. Visa expired Feb 2016, applied Jan 2017 but was denied because the VO wondered why I didn't travel in 2014, explained to him what happened. Showed him my receipt from the hospital but he complained it showed "pending final bill" and that's all I got. He also raised that in 2014 I said I wasnt going to seek for medical, I explained what led to that. Was surprised when he said we didn't qualify. Refused my husband and son too. I want to have a baby mid 2017 in the US. What do you advice pls?
