Not at all, that would be a huge security risk and the indemnity would be on them (you'll have to accept an agreement indemnifying the bank for any losses before you can activate internet banking)

Besides you need to be given a PIN or token for completing online transactions.

Stories.. all are activated by default..

It's been like that since early January this year.

MTN and GLO 4G work fine, just ntel and other 4G only network having hard time working.

Interesting. I'll try it out again then.

Tried those networks on the RN3 SE, but none worked. I'll try it out again sha

Battled with smile and ntel, couldn't get them to with on redmi note 3SE.

Tried everything, almost ran mad out of frustration before I gave up

Got my redmi pro from post office today and the experience has been good. The AMOLED screen is fair enough and the build is top notch. The battery drains faster than i expected but overall experience, I'll give it 70%. Thats just the result after a day test. Will surely come back for a better review after 1 week.

Rookidmart, grandmufti et al... Thanks for your assistance while trying to purchase the fone.

Ah. Seems we misunderstood each other. I'm aware that some accounts are enabled for internet transactions by default. By activation I meant with PIN or token to complete transactions. You cannot use the default password/PIN without changing it.
PS how do you verify your transactions, PIN or token?

Leave them to argue, I ve been trying to use a friend's card.. He also want to make payments..
Went online they told him he can,
So he went to the bank today and was told the card is not enable for international payments..that it should work in 48 hour's time. He uses the GTB Master card platinum self...

Welcome to the Xiaomi thread.
Prerequisites:
-A GTB and Access Bank account enabled for internet banking. Other banks eg Stanbic, FCMB etc work but you'll be charged at a higher rate.
(You'll need 2 accounts because your order is above $100 and due to the forex crisis banks limit forex transactions to $100 monthly. FYI GTB charges ₦320/$ and Access Bank charges ₦325/$)
-An AliExpress account
-Aliexpress app on your phone (new members get coupons)
Activating Your Card For Internet Transactions
Have you paid for stuff online before, whether Nigerian or international sites?
If no then you'll have to activate your card for internet banking.
For VISA card you'll need to go to your bank's ATM(I hear you can use any ATM) slot in your ATM and insert your PIN.
Then select "Change PIN"
You'll see a "Change I-PIN" button, click on it.
Now insert your I-PIN (something easy to remember but hard to forget)
For added security use a different pin from your usual ATM pin so if one is compromised the other is safe.
The I-PIN is the PIN you'll use to verify the transaction if you want to buy things online.

For MasterCard eg GTB's MasterCard, you'll have to go to the branch and fill a form to enable internet banking.

Funding AliExpress Pocket
Download the app, create an account.
On the My Account tab on the app you'll see My AliExpress Pocket, click on it and fund your AliExpress Pocket with about $100 (if $100 doesn't work at once then select it in multiples eg $20 * 5 or $50 * 2)
Search for the device you want to buy select buy now, you'll see an option to use your AliExpress Pocket, tick it.
Then use your other ATM to complete the transaction.

About Appeals:
You don't have to appeal before you fund your AliExpress Pocket.

Sometimes people are told to appeal for security reasons, to verify you're the owner/handler of the card, mostly when you use a card that isn't in your name to fund the pocket.
In that case you'll be told to upload a picture of the ATM card(you can block out some numbers for security purposes), identification (eg passport, voters card, birth certificate [don't know if they still collect these], or international passport), and a recent bank statement of the account you were told to appeal.

After 3-5 business days the details will be verified and you can use that card (that doesn't bear your name) to fund your pocket in the future without hassles.

About Collection:
The package will be delivered to the nearest post office and you'll be notified by the post office (either by call or text, or they'll bring a slip to your house) that you have an item waiting for collection at the post office.
You might be charged a ₦500 "handling fee" upon collection of the item.
Happy buying!

If you have any other questions you can ask here.

I thought stanbic cards stopped working last year. Have you used it this year? If yes what is the rate?

Stanbic cards no longer work.
GTB and Access Banks are the recommended banks because of their relatively low rates.
Each has a limit of $100 monthly.

Oh! Of course, to complete your internet banking transactions on GTB ibank platform, you will need a token, and token or pin usin GT Mobile. No doubt. But for online transaction/ecommerce, it is by default. My first transaction on AliExpress was done using my wife's GT card which she had never used for online transaction/gtmobile nor internet banking. So, it's never a conjecture. Of course, you saw my convo with gtbank help.

How do i complete my transactions?: I dont use PIN nor Token after the first OTP i used in confirming my details at my first transaction.

Dam5reey, i respect your opinion but my conversation with rookidmart was and is not an arguement. We can learn from one another without....

I used the OTP once.
The issue is about going to the bank to seek activation of GTB card(s) for online transaction.

Very strange.
They request for PIN + OTP for all my online transactions, even on Quickteller.

Aren't you uncomfortable without the security of PIN/token?
Then again you probably don't have a younger sister that uses your AliExpress account to buy Brazilian hair.
Are you comfortable without the Pin option?

GTBank Mastercard is by default activated for online transactions.

This was the point I was trying to correct...

It might work for you, but not all works by default....
Two of my colleagues were able to use their for international payment after contacting GTB to activate the cards...
Even though both have internet banking and token
