If you follow this advice, it is like Nigerian police stop you on the road and begin to quote that the president said this or that, they will ask you to go and bring him to clarify. You know it's not possible. Don't for now is the word of wisdom.

I understand bro and I feel your pain. I once passed thru this sh1t and it was hell for me.
You can check my comments on the NIV thread.

#we don't have a govt

The issue is not even about the refusal but the entire process.

UK and Canada will state clearly why you are denied with right of appeal after meticulously screening every document presented by applicant.

But for U.S they just ask some generic questions and do mini mani mo on you based on psychological evaluation which is never a full proof cos many still go without coming back even after convincing the officers they have ties in their home land.

The bottom line is that U.S visitor visa application is pure gamble and your chance of winning it is dependent on luck and how good you are in convincing the interviewing officers even if you have to lie....this is why many bad elements easily gain access to the states...

You documents are rarely checkd and no right of appeal...meaning your 50kplus is gone which is jist the same as MMM or baba ijebu...little wonder why some myopic people go to church to give testimony of "winning a visa to the states"

I had written to them recommending a restructuring of the entire process to allow for transparency and equity but Nigerian government is so non chalant.

But of course they'd say that so people don't stop paying the N54,400 visa fee.

I was at the US embassy on Monday and was rejected visa for the very first time. Their reason: I don't have a very 'strong tie' to show that I'd come back to Nigeria. Meanwhile I've been to the US 14 times, and came back 14 times!! With clear evidences on my passport and their system.

Nigeria may not be among the 6 countries with an obvious travel ban, but trust me the new executive order has Nigeria on their watchlist too

Sorry, 14 times you say?and you didnt do dropbox?I am not understanding.

how can you go to the embassy if truly you ve been to the embassy 14 times, pls clarify?

Perhaps you should ask questions before calling someone a liar!
I read through your posts and I confirmed that you actually are a Air hostess with Qatar air. If indeed they could reject your visa then there is definitely more that meets the eye in this matter. I believe that indeed Nigerians are being targeted.
My Man and I intend to apply for a short visit visa to the USA from the American embassy here in Germany. I hope we won't face this hurdle?

I believe that most times that people are turned back is because of perception, the US immigration authorities are very cerebral, they monitor your gait, your posture and also monitor how confident you are, if they notice or perceive any flaw in your personality. It's bye bye for that person. May God help us.

Lets not get it wrong. The US embassy consulate has the right to issue entry visas. But if you go through their visa information they will tell you the visa does not guarantee you entry into the USA. The border guards or whatever the call their names at the port of entry have the final deciding right whether you enter or not. It's not about Muslim or Nigeria. It's just being pronounced now because the current president of US is making so much noise about it. Before Trump became president it's been going on

I don't believe your story of been at the US embassy to renew your visa because visa renewal is usually done by Dropbox i.e through courier service except you have not travelled for 1 year since the expiration of your last visa. But for someone who has gone in and out of a America 14 times, again, it's had to believe you will not have a valid visa at any point in time. If for whatever reason you had been given the usual two years B1&B2 visa once or twice, does it mean you travelled the 14 times you claimed once every 3 months or at 6 weeks intervals as the case may be?
What they realized people like you do is to enter and work illegally for 5 months and 3 weeks, return to Nigeria for 2 weeks and go back again just to beat the immigration rule of not staying more than 6 months at a stretch. Thank God you said the new executive order has Nigerians like you on their watchlist too.
So take heart bro, America don wake up to our backyard game.

That would even be the height of humiliation - pregnancy test on my wife simply to enter the country? I feel for you brother.

I live in the UK, partly attributed to the US by numerous links. I'm an international businessman and I have numerous US partners and co-investors. I have not been in the US since ... 2008, I think. This is a concious decision. I will not go to meetings, holidays, conferences, even stopovers enroute elsewhere (South America) - forget it! I got tired of long immigration queues, brainless gorillas deciding on my fate, luggage being broken open each time with arrogant notes left for me, menacingly armed people walking into the plane, and souless cabin crew (or, that was just United?).

Before 9/11, hopping over to New York was fun, and something to look forward to. A week-long drive along the West coast was something you could contemplate, and make happen in the blink of an eye. Americans are wonderful people but the 'good people' have let the 'loonies' take over the asylum, I'm afraid. It's very dangerous for the world and I can only liken it to a young kid seeing his hitherto kind, gentle, playful, protective elder brother retreat into his room and lock his door, only occasionally coming out for food with eyes red from ganja smoking and too much porn watching.

The anti-foreigner narrative has been growing since that seminal 9/11 event and the country increasingly hostile to us. The country has strayed so far from its founding values it is almost unrecognizable now they have elected that buffoon to be their President. He has brought bigotry and discrimination to the open. People here have cheered while the 'bogeyman' was the Muslim (eg, see that eejit ezenwajosh above), but he really does not care for any of you 'brown-skinned' folks however eagerly you try to lick his fat behind.
Re: US Embassy Releases Statement On Nigerian Travel To US by Shukran(f): 11:04am On Mar 09, 2017
What must people don't know is that holding a valid visa doesn't guarantee you entrance into any country. The boarder officer has the final say and his stamp on your passport is the final stage of your clearance into any country.
The issue of denying entrance into USA and other country has always been there but most people don't come out to say it on social media.
I was once denied entry into UK because I didn't have my bank statement and enough physical cash to show the boarder officer that I have money to spend, although I have my bank cards with me but was not enough. They even called the airline to confirm my return ticket. This was not my first time to UK, I was holding a 5years visa this is to tell you I have been to UK more than 10times.
I was qanlatine in Malaysia because I didn't have my yellow card and they were ready to denied me entry, Thank God I found the reciept of the payment for the immunisation in my purse and I show them I took the injection but I don't have my card because I most have left it at home.
They wanted to see physical evidence. My advise to anyone traveling, carry all your supporting documents and have expert knowledge what you do, your employer, employment, your invitee and the company you are visiting. Products knowledge of your business should be at your fingertips. Do not answer with a yes or no, give your interviewer or boarder immigration officer 5 to 10 seconds detailed answer to his questions.
From my experience, I have been to more than 20 countries there must be something he missed while answering to questions from the immigration boarder. This has nothing to do with the travel ban.

Please take time to read again she clarified that she is an Air hostess with QA and gave other explanations

@Anitank I have a few theory here people have been questioned unnecessarily for coming t the USA via QA I guess the border agents dont know the difference between but just generally raise red flags when they see anything that has to do with the middle east.

As regards your case, I am thinking the VO assessed your application based on the new visa class you applied for without having a recourse to your travel history (which is wierd). There are several things that might have been considered because you are applying for a new visa class
