Its part of their duty as senators under the powers of the National assembly in the constitution 89c, it says that the senate has the right to summon any NIGERIAN to give evidence concerning any matter under investigation by the senate. In 89a, it states the type of evidence and it includes oral. Prof Sagay said the current senators are irresponsible and are just there for vanity. What the senate is doing is investigating if they are irresponsible and he should appear to show evidence of their irresponsibility.
