***********I went to aunty Adanna's house to check on her the next day, i boarded a taxi immediately after lectures to her place.


I met the security guard sitting down on a pavement,

"Good morning,.... Pls i'm here to see your madam"


"Aaaah, she travelled oooo, and i no know when she go return, she get emergency"


"Pls, did she travel out of the country?,"


"That one i no know ooo,"


I was confused, i asked the neighbours around to verify if she travelled, they said they haven't seen her for some days.



I went home depressed,........ I tried to remember the pastor's address but i couldnt,..... I also forgot to collect his number.......


After some days of checking for aunty Adanna, i became tired,....all i did was.. I doubled my prayers, i prayed vehemently. I awaited God's miracle........ With time i forgot about the man of God.........



School has closed for the Xmas break and i would be travelling to my viilage in three days time,....... Nelson bought all that i would need for my ceremony,..... He transfered enough money into my account and promised to return on 30th December.


I took a flight to Asaba, from there i boarded a taxi to my village. I returned late in the evening.


The harmattan breeze was harsh.i noticed a lot changes, it's developing, things are gradually changing in the village.

My mother was sitting outside the house waiting for my return. Immediately my taxi packed infront of our compound, everyone rushed out to greet me


"Mama, ... Come oooo.... Aunty is back...." the girl living with my mother shouted

My mother ran out to greet me.


"Look at how fresh my daughter is looking,....... Nne turn around let me see,......"

My mother was looking younger and healthier,..... Her is now booming in her business,... She's becoming rich gradually...... Her complexion has changed,..... I was really amazed....

It was a day to my introduction, i was sitting down with my mother discussing, Nelson has returned with daddy, Chy and Kingsley, mummy travelled to Ogun state to see her family.


" Something is bothering me,.... I've been calling Amanda for some months now, she isn't picking my calls,....... She hasn't called to ask me how i prepared for this occasion..... This is so unlike her...... Now she won't be around tomorrow,.... If there's anything going wrong, just tell me"



"Mama, aunty Amanda travelled out of the country,...... Her phone has been faulty,... Dont worry, she'll call you." i tried convincing her

I was happy that my mother would relieve Nelson off the burden of taking care of me..... I was starting to be ashamed of myself,........ My fiance sponsoring my eduation and fending for me.

"But mama, i thought it should be my husband's responsibility to cater for me"

I went inside and brought out a bag, where Nelson packed what he bought for him.



"You people are wicked, soo my rich in law gave you this to give to me, and you hid it,..... Will you finish everything alone?,..... Allow us to enjoy our in law ooo" he said grabbing the bag forcefully


"Uncle i'll come and see your family later in the day"

he was already leaving the compound,


"If you like come, if you like dont come, i've taken what i came for" he left



"This man is funny ooo, so he came here this early to intentionally insult us"

My uncle's burial came and passed, my introduction was fast approaching, everything was in order.




On the day of the Introduction,i was shocked at the change of plan, canopies were mounted, they said Nelson paid for it, Chy came with her ashebi girls, It was more like traditional wedding, assorted dish was prepared, he sent a makeup artist to do wonders on me. I was looking gorgeous, i changed into four different attires before the occasion ended.


Everything went perfect. My uncle made sure he doubled the marriage list, everyone noticed it but Nelson paid everything without complaint.




My mother was so happy, she wore one of the clothes Nelson bought for her, she was looking beautiful, she kept on complaining of her friend's absence.

I tried my best to convince her that Mummy Amanda is ok.


The next day, they came for payment of dowry, everything went fine,.... They agreed that i would follow my inlaws home to know my husband's family.


When the occasion ended, i left my father's house in tears, traditionally, i'm married to Nelson, before we left, my mother took me into her room to advise me



"My daughter, always know that this family is now your home, be a good wife to your husband, always stand by him in any situation, always respect him,...... Make sure you cook for him..... Dont allow anyone to come between you and your husband, try to bring peace into your husband's family,.... "she continued talking until she started crying

Chy was exceptionally happy, she had already started planning for my wedding.


Nelson was the happiest man on earth, he couldn't wait to me home.


We left late at night,....... It is the tradition that the mother in law welcomes her daughter in law into her home...





My mother inlaw was not there, His uncle's wife was the one that welcomed me into the family. I couldn't control my tears, i started crying.



Nelson 's immediate family understood why i was crying, they tried to console me,



I was totally devastated, my eyes were swollen, Nelson noticed how dull i was, he informed everyone that we needed to retire to the room, since we were already stressed out.



This was supposed to be a quiet occasion, but because of how popular and rich his dad is, everyone graced the occasion, few friends came from Lagos,

"Baby i never expected this kind of crowd in this small occasion,"

We bathed and continued with our chat,



He kissed me goodnight and we slept off.


After spending some days in the village, we booked a flight back to Lagos.



That was the beginning of a new phase in my life.

I wondered what they were arguing about as i entered Nelson 's house,i opened the front door gently.


I saw mummy Amanda standing and talking, then i saw Lizzy sitting down crying, Nelson was shocked to see me.


He had called me earlier to know if i would visit him for the weekend, but i told him i had things to do in school during the weekend, but i later changed my mind.
