Why are you comfortable with using the internet and computer from school dropouts?

I got my Bsc in Economics in 1992 and till date,I have not collected my certificate.I have used my notification from the Senate of University to get employment from several organisations including Banks before I became an Entrepreneur and I have never had an issue with it.Any Organisation that wants to confirm any claim to an educational achievement can always write to the Institution for confirmation.

It is either you are still an undergraduate or have never seen the four walls of a university. Well to educate you and other ignoramuses. Statement of result are issued immediately after graduation.That is the document you will be using until your certificate is ready. I worked with my first degree statement of result for about a decade before getting my certificate. Till date the only document with my employers is a photocopy of my statement of result. They have not even seen my certificate

Normally, certificates are supposed to be issued during the convocation.

Problem is, university laws in many Nigerian unis require that the VC directly sign the certificate...which means that a VC has to sign hundreds of the things (for large unis like ABU) and which can mean people use their statement of results for now...till the cert is ready....which might be some years post graduation.

You are very correct. I also graduated in the year 2000 and I have not found it necessary to collect my original certificate
