thanks for the advice but I opinion in for college because it's less expensive compare to university so if I defer my admission to fall this year and reapply for my visa what are the chances of me getting a visa or will I still get denied again? looking forward to your response thanks

I cannot predict if you or anyone will be denied....but good preparation is essential and been able to articulate your plans well to the VO. ..so it not even about deferring but been ready

If you defer and still dont preprare well then same difference... if you are well preprared then you can even go again in a few days . ...however if you ever go back make sure you go through the rejected and accepted transcript and learn a thing or two

No. Your visa is good for 1 year. Just get a corrected I-20 and you're good to go.

Is it possible to get F1 Visa for community college?

Yes you can. But, there’s a trick to that. I will explain that with two examples.

In this article, you can read two F1 Visa interview experience for Community College. Then, you can read why one student got F1 visa, and other got rejected.

F1 Visa for Community College – Rejected

I was denied my F1 visa
Here’s my background:

I am a high school graduate, and I was accepted into Foothill College (2-year transfer community college) in California. The Visa Officer, during my interview, asked me two questions about the college. Here’re the questions and answers:

1) How did you hear about Foothill?

The college was mentioned during a college spotlight at school by my college counsellor.

2) Why Foothill College?

The fees are comparatively more economical as compared to the other college I was accepted into(i.e., Florida Inst. Of Tech.). Another reason is that Foothill has an excellent transfer program to the University of California schools.

3) Do you have anybody in the U.S?

No.

After the third question, visa officer denied my visa stating that he found me to be a non-credible student and issued me the 214(b).

F1 Visa for Community College – Approved
Here’s another student who got his F1 Visa sharing his experience.

I have received five years F1 visa for a community college (Pierce College) in Los Angeles. Here’s how?

I applied in January, but I got rejected.

Reason. I could not convince the VO why I am selecting a community college over a university. They need a solid proof.

I applied again in July of the same year, and I got my visa.

I took the course curriculum with me telling them what’s the main reason for community college and what exactly am gonna do. Same classes at university were at community college but at four times the price of community college.

So, I explained the VO why should I pay more for same classes when I can cover them at much affordable price plus how flexible is a community college.

I got my visa and I am typing this sitting from LA. I did some mistakes but not I am on track again. I am transferring to UCLA, and I would recommend everybody “stay honest to yourself” and “Be confident” good wishes from LA.

Visa officers expect students were going to community college to tell them their plans to transfer to 4-year college. You have to make this argument to get F1 Visa for attending the community college. If you can’t convince your visa officer, then you can’t get the visa.

Now, you know the trick. It’s time to save some money by studying first two years in a community college and then transfer to the 4-year university.
COPIED.

Hello Veterans in the house,

Pardon my enquiries if they are naive but also do well to give your honest answers smiley.

1. Is it inorder to inform the VO that you've got some kind of tuition waiver and an assistanship if you're being asked how you intend to fund your studies/ stay?

2. 'All things being equal' Is it possible for someone that has secured some sort of scholarship or tuition waiver (partial or full) and possibly an assistanship position to be denied a visa?

3. Does ones ability to secure a scholarship(internal)/ funding or an assistanship position aid in the decision of visa approval e.g strengthens ones visa application?

4. As Lagosismyhome would always put it 'it isn't worth the stress attending a below average grad school' based on possible post school job hunt and possibly Alumni network is it safe to say that all schools listed in Grade C category and below on the msinus.com profile evaluation (http://www.msinus.com/content/profile-evaluation-ms-us-261/) are below average?

.

1. Yes. But you still need to prove your own source of funding (statement), this in case you lose your funding.
2. Yes. 100% possible.
3. Yes, it shows one could be committed to studying as the studies is funded. And No, in case one couldn't convince the VO to be a genuine student, then the visa application is rejected.
4. Where is the link? Below average could be anything unless you share the link but red flag schools are those you need to run away from.

1) if you have any form of assistantship or tuition waiver I believe it will be indicated on your i-20 so it is in order to also say it if you're asked its just like saying you got a scholarship but if the assistantship or waiver is not full you must be able to explain how you'll come up with the remaining balance (in general try to give good explanations if you're asked a question and if you're not asked about it do not be to quick to sell yourself )

2)yes it is 101% possible having a tuition waiver or scholarship may give and upper-hand as I've seen people said here but it does not guarantee a visa especially if you can't express yourself well and don't know what you are doing.

3) still the same question with no 2

4) I d k do your own research or wait too be answered on this

Ok I see. This is just GRE requirement ranking and not necessarily the education quality. e.g it's laughable if one thinks CUNY ranked 'D' is not a good public school. In fact, with the signing of Excelsior Scholarship, CUNY and SUNY might have more stringent admission requirements. GRE requirement is low in some schools because GRE is not the major factor for admission in those schools. i.e GRE may be given low priority during selection of applicants.

your gpa is too low ,though some schools can give you admission with your gpa but youre not gonna get any scholarship or financial aid and you really need any form of scholarship to survive and make your tuition fee more affordable here in USA

It shouldn't be hard for you to know that a 'diploma education' can't be anywhere near any university degree.
