KemBee86: Hey Kembee86 Sorry for not posting of late, it has been so hectic i have been at the hospital pretty much every day since our Son was born, for about 15hrs per day, we then moved from a studio to a 2 bed property on 25th November, so its been all go go go getting prepared for Jamal coming home Jamal is now 15 weeks old and still just over a week away from his due date he is now 6lb 6oz, and he didn't need any surgery, his eyesight is also fine, he will be coming home soon although on oxygen but thankfully there is no long term issues, completely perfect, very surprised as he was born at 23+6 weeks gestation and birth weight was 1lb 3oz im so proud of him and ive been expressing this whole time, which is so exhausting, as its not the same as breastfeeding. here is some pics, from birth and him now, our gorgeous boy 3 Likes

Portsmouth86: Driving Licence ( international licence can be used for 12 months from entering UK) PLS, Portsmouth86, Does UK allow Nigeria International Passport as the valid driving licence in the UK for 12 months? Thanks |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Lexusgs430: 10:09am On Feb 12, 2017 |
stillwaiting: International driving license, can only be used for a duration of one year (must tally with entry on passport). And you must inform your insurance company and be expected to pay a hefty insurance premium..... |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by N101: 1:09pm On Feb 12, 2017 |
stillwaiting:You can't use a Nigerian passport as a valid driving licence in the UK but you can use a valid Nigerian driving licence for up to 12 months (similar to an International Driving Licence). Without a UK driving licence the insurance premium will be a killer. |

Hi guys, I want to enquire about change of name for my wife, when can she do it and does that mean a new BRP Card? |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Abbylove: 5:32pm On Mar 11, 2017 |
It's gone quiet in here. Well here is an update on what I have done so far: - BRP Picked - My name was successfully added to our council tax bill - Bank Account was opened - National insurance number obtained from jobcentre - Provisional driver's licence applied for online - I applied to vote online and have received confirmation - I also got a job via reed. Didn't like it as the employer was very unprofessional and made false advertisement...I stayed on while applying to several other places and finally got a good offer. - Hubby took me on a tour to London Bridge where we took loads of pictures. (I learnt the importance of pictures from our 1st application) - We hope to open a joint account in the near future. - We are going on a weekend trip out of town soon...I will be gathering as much evidence of that as possible. I keep every single document i recieve at the house inna big red box. They would come in handy for my FLR Am guessing the best evidence of cohabitation is a "baby"...lol.... we shall see about that next year. Am still enjoying "being married for now" 3 Likes |

Hi all, I'm due for flr m Feb next year. Just wanted to ask do we need to submit pictures like we need for the initial spouse visa? I haven't been taking pictures. |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by N101: 11:28am On Mar 24, 2017 |
phardey: You don't need to submit pictures or IM conversations again but you do need to submit: * The sponsor's passport or a copy of every page of the sponsor's passport. *Applicants passport * 6 months of sponsor's bank statements * 6 months of sponsor's payslips * Sponsor's P60 * A letter from sponsor's employer * Copy of Marriage certificate * Applicant's language test certificate * Rent statement/mortgage summary, especially if you've moved from the address where you originally lived for the initial application. * Any bills in your name or both names for 2 years you have lived together. The bill thing can seem complicated but the easiest way to remember is that (1) they must be spread evenly over the two years, and (2) you should use a maximum of 3 types of named documents. Again it sounds confusing, but it can be a combination of utility bills, council tax bills, bank statements, payslips, an official letter e.g from the council, Home Office or the DWP. e.g. Water bill in both names in January 2016 and January 2017 Council tax bill in both names, March 2016 and March 2017 Bank statement in both names October 2016 and October 2017 If you have any period where you don't have anything in joint names, then you have to submit separate documents, one for each of you, for the period at the same address: e.g. Sponsor's bank statement, January 2016 Applicant's letter from DWP January 20016 You can complete the application online, and with each step you just have to remember you have to confirm what documents you will be submitting. You'll get a summary at the end of the application anyway, but it helps to start collating stuff. You'll also have to pay the IHS at the end of the application. Good luck! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello all, Is there a time limit one can spend outside the UK. I am told there is no time limit in the first 2.5 years visa as long as one does not spend more than 6 months at a stretch. Is this true? Someone else told me that its a maximum of 90 days per 12 months from issuance of visa. Please could anyone guide me? Thanks |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by N101: 1:22pm On Apr 15, 2017 |
Fynebouy:I remember reading something similar but can't find the info! It depends on the type of FLR visa; somewhere in the"terms and conditions" for the visa type, it advises that you shouldn't spend more than X amount of time outside of the country. I'll keep looking. |

phardey: no pics required this time around, instead you need proof of cohabitation |
Re: Applying For FLR After Your Initial UK Spouse Visa (extension) by Portsmouth86(f): 2:59pm On Apr 15, 2017 |
Fynebouy: You can spend no more than 90 days per year out of the UK bear in mind when it comes to applying for your Citizenship, make note of these three points And you must usually have: lived in the UK for at least the 5 years before the date of your application spent no more than 450 days outside the UK during those 5 years spent no more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen/check-if-you-can-apply |

Abbylove: Hiya I have been very quiet in here of recent as I have a son, and we are in and out of hospital with respiratory issues so I rarely find the time to come online, but when I get a chance I do. Ive just found out we are expecting baby no2 so ill be having a double maternity as baby due just after im to return to work Pictures is not an evidence requirement in the FLR, the proof of cohabitation replaces this 2 Likes |

Lexusgs430: I know right that's how it will look but if I'm honest we haven't had the time to get intimate too often as I'm always in the hospital with our son, but life has a funny way of surprising us lol, I had my scan and im due 22nd November, but will be under consultants and close watch due to Jamal coming so early. Hubby is working in a really good security job now, and earns above the minimum income requirement on his own, and I claim carers now for our son, so we will actually be exempt come to the FLR app |

Hello House, Got engaged to my fiancé who's from EU in march, we gave notice of marriage in the registry and it's been referred to the home office. Has anyone had a similar encounter because I planned for the ceremony in July when many of my family will be in Uk for the summer. Furthermore my flat rent is bills inclusive and I don't have to pay water or light bill but we have a joint account together. How can I show more evidence of cohabiting after our marriage when submitting to the HO. Thanks in anticipation |
