Daily Moving Average

50DMA
The 50-day moving average is a popular technical indicator which investors use to analyze price trends. It is simply a security's average closing price over the last 50 days.

200DMA
A move through a major moving average is often used as a signal by technical traders that the trend is reversing. For example, if the price breaks through the 200-day moving average in a downward direction, it is a signal that the uptrend is reversing.

EPS for q3 was 117k, 17% lower than the 138k they declared in q3 2015. Except you're expecting them to fork out the entire q3 earnings for you as dividend....
Bloomberg puts their EPS ttm(summation previous 4 quarters) as 37k. 15k will be a miracle from this EPS.

You mean after the management already stated their intention to recapitalize earnings? Dividend will most likely be paid from earnings of subsidiaries.

Keep your expectations low wrt dividends. Recovery is the bigger picture.

Well we all know Dangote is a shrewd business man. However, I take it that you're assuming he sold at a profit. The financial terms have been kept under wraps for a reason.
The only aspect of the deal that surprised me, is that, Dufil agreed to operate and produce from Dangote Noodles facilities for two years using the same "Dangote noodles" brand shocked Retaining the brand name is the red flag o
I won't be surprised if he sold at a loss but plans a reverse takeover after 2 years. He needs the "Indomie" secret badly. He obviously wants to sustain (more like improve) the brand name for a reason. The bolded just doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, just thinking aloud. Na from stock market I fit benefit from any fallout of this deal.

I am not alone. Hmm! what a deal?

Every company recapitalize some percentage of their earnings , some times 50%, 60%, 70%, and pay remaining % as dividend.

Just hope those diamond bidders know what they're buying into, especially as the result will soon be out undecided
Contrary to popular opinion, I believe that Diamond will be more positive than expected and I have staked my money on it.

In the meantime, glory be to God for FBNH, its about 2-years on this journey and we're still very hopeful of better things to come.

Disc: I have Diamond in my portfolio. Not a buy recommendation.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BullBearMkt(m):
THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND...

Price is always noisy with a lot of fluctuations up and down. This many times make it extremely difficult to determine when to enter/exit a trade with profit. Just like a drunkard going from point A to point B, price will first stagger around to reach points A', A''... before it finally get to its destination at B, Chart 1. This of course is to create emotions (fear/greed) for traders/investors to ensure he/she exits the trade with a loss or at most minimal profit.

A great tool to smoothing out price fluctuations is the MOVING AVERAGE. A moving average of price is based on the close of each bar interval. For example, a daily 20-Day-Moving-Average (20DMA) is the close of the last 20 day bars. It is great on historical data and provides price trending.

The phrase, "...the trend is your friend" was coined to keep traders aligned with the general direction of the stock's price instead of jumping around the price's whipsaw. If the overall price trend is up, traders will want to BUY and if the trend is down, it is SELLING time.

LIMITATION
-Moving Averages on price are lagging. This means moving average reacts to price movement, or price turns before MA makes its turn...

The longer the moving average, the greater the lag but the benefit is you will get a smoother trend. Hence, a 50DMA provides more lag time than a 20DMA, although 50DMA will give a smoother trending than 20DMA.

Chart 2, is UBA historical daily chart with 20DMA (blue line) and 50DMA (magenta line). Study the price fluctuations and how 20 and 50 DMAs provide us with the price trend

USES OF MOVING AVERAGE
-Provides price trending
-BUY or SELL signal: When a short (or fast) moving average is above the long (or slow), it is considered time to buy. But if the fast MA is below the slow MA, it is time to sell
-Provide value pricing: When price pullback to the moving averages (when rising), it is considered a good zone to enter (or re-enter) the trade
