I need your help NIPOST ambassador.
I sent my package before reading this thread, I could have acted differently if I had all the information I am now getting from here.

Please the package contains documents and gift items weighing close to 2 kg. It was addressed to a Private mail bag in Ibadan. My question is: will it be delivered to the private mail bag even with the gift items? I have read on this thread that customs sometimes seize packages? What is the fate of my package? There is no tracking number, no phone number, no return address on the package. It was sent through regular mail from Canada
Wow that's a heavy package. Please next time, use registered mail so that you can track until it gets to the post office in Ibadan.
Anyway, give it 10 to 15 business days, then ask the receiver to go to the post office with a valid ID and ask for the parcel.
Good luck.

i sent a package of books to Germany from insurgency thorn north east Nigeria, it was opened by the germans and resealed too.

my question is this, was any of the items sent to you missing?

if no , then its part of security procedures.

Dear Tolu, All things been equal, the mail will get to the private mail bag.

on the other hand, take MRSNaira's advice, ask the mail recipient to go to the closest state NIPOST headquarter to find out of the delivery.

Now that you know better about NIPOST services, am sure you know the write approach to send differently categories of mail.

Hi NIPOST Ambassador

I just sent a package of some documents to South Korea from Ilorin. The woman at the counter told me my package will be delivered with 10 working days and I have a tracking number on the receipt I was given.

My fear is your post saying between 10 to 15 working days as against what the woman told me. I have a deadline to meet latest 10th of May. She also told me I can only track it to Lagos and until it gets to destination, South Korea before I can track it again. Please what can you say regarding my fear? Thanks a bunch.

Hi @Adbash,
Can I try to answer your question thru my experience?
I sent a package to Beijing, China at Uyo post office @plaza on 31st March, 2017 (a Friday) late in the afternoon, a registered mail, and the "young dude" that attended to me said my package shd be delivered within 8-10days(working days). I added another 10days in my mind, u know dis is 9ja now, so I worked with 20days.
But to my surprise, my package was delivered on d 10th of April, that's lyk 7days cos u will exclude April 1st and 2nd which are non-working days.
So my first experience with Nipost went well, at least it's a relief that at least an agency in dis country is still functioning!
Thumbs up to Nipost.

Hi, I'm not NIPOST ambassador o!smiley
I just like to offer help when I can.
Is your package registered mail?
If it is, then you have no problem.
I told the other poster that because their parcel was sent with regular mail.
@slimfit2 just echoed my thoughts.
Don't worry, your package will get there in time, I send parcels regularly to Hong Kong and Japan, South Korea should be the same thing.
Good luck!

My package has finally arrived at its destination.

I went to make enquiry at the post office where I sent it when I couldn't track it online as suggested by Mrs Naira and Slimfit2.

It was at the post office I got to know that my package has already gotten to South Korea on 26/4/2017 and I sent it on 20/04/2017. But due to public holidays in South Korea, they couldn't send it to the final destination.

I finally got a call today that the package has been received. Thanks everyone especially Mrs Naira and Slimfit2.

It's a pity I just found out this thread.

A small parcel was sent to me from the uk since the 22nd of April 2017. However, the sender forgot to register it, hence it's an ordinary untrackable mail.

Up till now I have not received the package. I've gone to the local post office here and gave them the shipping address on the package. They said theyd notify me as soon as it arrives.

The question is: how long does it take an unregistered mail to arrive Nigeria from the uk?

I also have fears of losing the package in transit since it's unregistered and thus untraceable.

Please I need more elucidation on this. Am really confused. The package contains an expensive item.

Hi,
Where is the parcel addressed to? I mean the area, is it Ikeja, Oshodi, Maryland, Yaba?
Just to be sure you're checking with the right post office branch.

Hi everyone, good job you're doing here.

Please I need an urgent assistance. I have just requested for my academic transcript to be sent to WES in USA, and I'm thinking of using one of NIPOST's services for its delivery.
Please which of NIPOST's services will suggest I use? I have not more than 15days to get it delivered at the destination. Also, what will be the financial implication of the suggested services. I'm sending from somewhere in Osun State.
Thanks

Wow 15 days to USA.
You can use registered mail.
You will be given a tracking number to track it until it gets to its destination. It should cost not more than 2k.
If you have up to 6k, you can use EMS speedpost.
If you're using NIPOST registered mail, make sure you get to the post office before 9am so it can leave that same day.

Good luck.
