Hi gurus,

I have a BSC in maths education and I have been admitted to study Ms mathematics. My aim of studying is to become a lecturer and consultant in the field of analysis ( Complex and Data analysis). Will it be a very strong point to tell the VO that I aspire to be a lecturer and that is why I am studying further? Or I should just base my point on just analysis? Pls critique and feed back. Thanks...

I will advise you to market yourself well because that is what can do it ooo

Go and fill a new ds160 and correct it then go back to appointment page and use the feedback option to email them to help edit and insert your new ds160 code..

After everything is done then you go ahead and print out a new appointment confirmation for your interview.

In less than 2-3 days this will be done for you but be ready to upload new ds160 and data page for them to get it done for you as soon as possible and also indicate your interview date if it's getting close so that the person can get it done for you as soon as possible

Alternatively, after filing a new DS-160, copy the unique code and return to the appointment booking page. On the page, go to update info or data.... you will see where to erase the former code and input the recent one. After doing this, return to print confirmation and you wil see it updated.

All the best bro/sis

Thank you bro...I was asking because I haven't seen a transcript about lecturing, so I was wondering if it isn't a great thing to disclose...because I have a very strong passion for Mathematics.

Let's give the thanks to God

There was a guy back then who went and dropped his transcript and he studied mathematics, a lecturer or graduate of Lasu. I think he is going for msc or phd in mathematics and he was granted visa.

The VO asked him about one simple mathematical rule if I am not wrong but he dropped his transcript but I can't remember the part but it should be between part 6 to part 8

Good morning all. I'm a new member but I've been following so many threads on Nairaland since last year including this one without registering as a member. Everything has been going smoothly, i learned a lot. And it helped me in my GRE and TOEFL where I scored 312 and 100 respectively. But now I have an issue. And please I need the gurus in the house (walspring, imperioxx and other) to help. I don't know what the issue is. I applied for visa last month during the interview I wasn't all that prepared, so I stammered in the first question which was "Why did you choose this course?". I answered because I want to specialize in control Engineering which is a branch of electrical engineering and I enjoyed the theory behind it when I was an undergraduate, it was interesting and challenging " and every other question was just a formality. Me myself I knew I messed up so I didn't care much when she gave me the blue slip. But since that day I've been preparing hard for the interview the second time. I had an answer to virtually all the questions that could be asked because I read a lot of transcript and put down my answers, read them and knew them like the back of my hands. So I went for the interview yesterday again. And this was the transcript
Greetings and pass me your passport and i20
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: I'm going for my masters degree in Electrical and electronics engineering at the southern Illinois university in edwardsville, and I chose this school because it's one of the best schools in the Midwestern region of the United States in Electrical Engineering according to usnews.com and forbes.com, and most of the professors in the department are Ivy League trained which is synonymous to having an Ivy League education at a cheaper rate, like professor Tim York of the department who won the 2016 IEEE award of the year for his research paper on "Polarization on image sensoring" and they also have excellent research laboratories and facilities that'll aid in the advancement of my career in this field so that when I come back to the country I can be able to put my skills to work in the power sector of the country as power is one of the major issues we're facing in the country I'd like to come back and contribute my quota to the improvement and development of the sector. (P.S: I said every word)

VO: Where did you learn about all these you just said?
Me: I went online to know more about the school because the last time I came I couldn't explain my situation very well.

VO: Who's paying for this trip?
Me: My Dad.

VO: what does he do?
Me: He'a a renowned lawyer with his own firm and he has about 10 associates working for him.

VO: What are the qualifications needed for this course or something (I didn't hear him very well, but I heard qualifications)
Me: I have a bachelors degree in computer engineering from the university of Lagos.

VO: Have you ever traveled out?
Me: I went for an AIESEC conference in Ghana when I was an undergraduate. (First interview I said the same thing but I forgot to put it in my first DS-160, but I put it in the second DS-160 that I've traveled to Ghana before)

VO: Where do you work currently?
Me: I just completed my National Youth service in April this year as I graduated in November 2015.
(In My DS-160 that place they asked for employment status and all, I put Where I worked during my service year.)

VO: Are you married?
Me: No, I'm just 24 *laughs* .. VO laughed too and said "you never know".

Types for like 3 minutes non stop. And told me sorry you're not eligible at this time. I was weak, because I answered all the questions with so much fluency, I didn't stammer one time. I was just flowing. Please help me what can I do? I want to go for the third time asap because I have the answers to every technical question they can ask. Thanks a lot for the help.

Bro he/she just asked you why are you going to the US and you said all that?? cmon.. that's one long epistle to digest.. you could have made it short and concise. everything other was perfect except the first answer it shows that you actually crammed it - to me tho..
and also I think you answered the usual second question which is - Why southern Illinois university in Edwardsville?

I stand to be corrected

Then at the bolded, seems a bit too forward really. I think the next time, you should be concise and stick to the questions asked. #my 2cents

In my opinion, your response are superb. Until you told her all your fine responses are simply memorised answers copied from "online".
Also, you're not working. NYSC ppa is not a job, but you claimed that's where you've worked in your DS-160 form and then contradicted yourself in the interview.
