Some Pastors take this authority thing to another level. Where is the rule that tucked in​ shirts show that one is holy? Then, why embarass someone in public? Why not call him aside and talk to him Instead of treating him like a vagabond as if the pastor feeds him or pays his salary.

When they discovered I knew how to play, they gave me the opportunity to be playing at least 2 times a month. Last Sunday, I wore a shirt with a suit trouser and a sandals to church, then I wasn't expected to tuck in my shirt with a sandals. When I got to church, the pastor ordered me out of the church to tuck in before coming inside and instructed the ushers to not let me in until I tucked in my shirt. The church was still on and I got so ashamed and embarrassed. Everybody's eyes were on me during that time.

As confused as I was, I angrily left the church that moment to another nearby church.

Then I started thinking, Do we really have to tuck in our shirts to show how holy we are in church? What do you think had prompted the pastor to order me out? Do Christians have a dressing code? Will I be judged on the final day for letting loose my shirt to church? What's your view on this?

Funny some folks are trying to make this an issue of doctrine but it is not. It is not about whether tucking in of shirt is a compulsory dress code or not.

This is a case of a pastor and a church worker whom he is discipling and whom he hoped was genuinely serving the Lord. If he had chosen to serve under this minister of God up til this point why become obstinate all of A sudden to the point of bringing the matter to a public forum like NL.

MY ADVICE: Humble yourself and return because this test you have refused to take and pass will wait for you in whatever church you run to. Unless you turn from following the Lord. It is the test of humility, submission to the Lord and his established authority in the church.

oga what the pastor did was right!!! now before you listen to people advice, everybody spiritual level is different and also every church has their own dress code...though this talk is not meant for online debate..
now every church has dress code and if you playing a piano, you inderecting part of the chruch workforce and therefore you to dress as a worker...dont leave the church, that might just be were your blessings is located...dont let anybody deceive you that you can get blessing everywere!!! check how your life has improved since you joined the church...yhe pastor expect at your level you should know the right and the wrong!!!!

In one of my posts, I made it known as well that it was wrong of the Op to react that way... And as the story goes, you must not, however, fail to acknowledge that the pastor approached the issue wrongly. I want to believe they are both at fault here.

Well....there is a simple lesson to be learned ...and that is humility.

The Pastor asked him to tuck in his shirt. Not to go and kill someone, not to go and burn down someone's house...but to tuck in his shirt.

When you were in school...you had uniform codes. Most people here are hypocrites and kids with phones, listen to them at your own peril. Go back to the pastor and apologize, you may not go to the church again but apologize to the pastor. Am sure if he's your manager at work, you won't walk out on him.
