Many young graduate has missed it all , unless you are rich in & outside, you will always fail a job interview .Why? It does not seat well to keep wine in a broken bottle. In all of your interviews, you were given backing for fare out of commiseration. What does that mean? You may be looking penurious and too agitated to be trusted with a job hence the compassion .What do you do? Stop looking for a job and seek for money and spack up your confidence, self presentation and awake the positive energies within you, that will help you to interact and move with quality men. When you do that and notice new friends around you , Then! things has begun to change for good and even job may look for you. How do you look for money? Quote me if you're interesting.

though wasn't mean to quote but am interested if you don't mind. thanks

If you had learnt a skill or trade or handiwork within that period after NYSC, you would be close to if not be a boss of yourself by now and you can always look for better suited jobs while at it.
Or you can look for a teaching job for now.

I'm a nursing student, I know I have a high probability of getting jobs easily with or without attractive pay but I'm not planning to sit with just my certificate and license . I'm learning and even planning to learn more skills so within and even outside Nigeria I'll have other skills I can survive with asides being a nurse.

So after your mum sold her bike for 110k to support you... you want to pay her back by committing suicide... Bross... think again..

You've told us of the several efforts you've put in... in trying to secure a Job... but you've not said anything about your prayer life...

My brother GOD can give you anything, and I mean anything...

All the treasures of the heavens and the earth belongs to the LORD ... he is the ALPHA and OMEGA the BEGINNING and the END...

Let me share a testimony...

After graduating from the university... I waited some years for a good job but without success... though I had a job... but the position was not befitting for a university Graduate... I needed a better JOB... and I took the following steps..

1. I remembered a vow I made to GOD while I was in Secondary school and I fulfilled the vow...

2. I became very obedient to my parents so that I can earn their blessings...

3. I deliberately abstained from all forms of sexual activities and alcohol... I laid off the girls, reduced social media activities and focused on GOD ...

4. I entered into the new year... fasting and praying... at one time.. I fasted for 40 days.. another time I fasted for 14 days and again I fasted for 7 days.. I lost so much weight that people kept asking me if I was sick... I simply replied that I was fine..

5. I stopped jumping from one church to another... I located a good church and attended church programs regularly including a Holy Ghost Service by Pastor E.A Adeboye... in that service... Pastor Adeboye prophesied great things and I claimed the prophesies... I participated in Holy communion services...

6. I downloaded powerful worship songs to my phone and sang them to the LORD both day and night...

7. I knew and I could feel that I had started building a wonderful relationship with GOD... I could hear GOD speak to me... and I knew he heard me...

8. I made a covenant to GOD and told him what I would do to his glory if he gave me that desired job...

Now within 6 months... these were the results that followed...

8. GOD healed me completely from all my diseases and sicknesses... my health was perfect..

9. I was promoted and giving a higher position at my place of work..

10. I submitted job applications to two of the most highly paid organizations in the country..

11. I was invited for job interviews by the two organization and my performance at the interviews were excellent... deep within me... I knew only GOD could make such happen the way it did..

12. Both organizations offered me Job employment.... the salaries were mind blowing... and I was initially confused on which one to go for... meanwhile I had a second class lower division in Geography... just imagine...

13. I was able to afford that dream car... that dream house... that dream wife... and I could travel anywhere around the globe for vacations or business trips...

14. Those people who were once complaining that I was loosing too much weight started complaining that I was gaining too much weight...

15. I caught up with my mates that succeeded before me and I even overtook them...

I Laughed and I laughed loud...

GOD is real... GOD is true... come to him and he would give you rest...

Bross... GOD has not condemned you... so please don't condemn yourself...

sometimes in life... to become full you need to be empty..

That thought of suicide in your mind is from the devil and surely not from GOD...

If GOD can do it for me then surely he can do it for you...

Draw close to GOD...

Please don't give up on GOD...

Sir God bless you for sharing this testimony....it blessed my heart! It also re-ignited my love for God.. i was very discouraged..... even as a music director, i hide my tears.. because people are looking up to me, i cheer them up when they are down , but in secret i cry softly......thank you Jesus...He sent your testimony specifically to me.. This has really blessed me..... i love you sir! I wnt quit
..i will not give up..... I will take positive steps..... i will keep being grateful........ @op please lets hold on to God........... God bless nairaland

i sat still again..and then reviewed my cv..paid 2k for push CV to review the cv..still no luck.. downloaded CV review app used it time and time again. same results.. no calls.

the only thing i get everyday is insults from my Father and some relatives of how lazy and weak i am...this is not fair life itself is not fair..is it not better to die? after working hard in school and after school for about 8-10 years no result for it..

Your story is quite pathetic, as a chemical engineer, learn how to mix paints. With little capital you can start supplying paints to contractors. You need to think outside the box. God bless your hussle.

Most people in Nigeria have been through difficult situations but I can tell you for such that suicide is not the way out. I hope my story blesses someone.

I was 2years old when my father died and I was in SS2 when my mom died. As an orphan in Nigeria, life was a mystery but God was in charged. I finished from secondary school, got admission into university and I graduated with a teaching skill and ability to form different products through chemical reactions. Upon graduation, every connections I had failed and I decided to made up posters for home lesson. I got a home lesson and I was tutoring a family kids for N10,000 a month. I ALSO started going from door to door of employers looking for job. I eventually got a teaching job for N28,000 a month. With the help of God, I made it to US for my masters and now life is much better.

What skills did you gain from school? Most opportunities are hidden in what you have and in what you can do. Put your skills to use and trust GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART and watch your life transform for good!

Feel free to email me if you have questions at primeconsultancy@yahoo.com

God bless you all!

Firstly, let me start by saying congratulations cos believe me this thread getting on to front page solves ur problem half way if not completely...

Secondly find out the best possible ways to appreciate the kind mod who did this miracle for you...

Then listen to this :

Was in your shoes a month ago... Now i am the head of HR in a place that looks like heaven on earth to me... I have Hnd distinction in computer engineering with 2.1 BSc in same...

See my magic

1. I went back to status quo with God.

2. There is no number 2 cos number one is all you need to do.

Just like you a similar thread of mine hit the front page and that was it

Lastly bro please start training your self on office etiquetes cos when and where God is taking you will blow your mind.. If you have any means pls learn some software applications

Before i go pls do not i repeat do not measure your success with others..

Take for instance a friend of mine has worked for 8 months now and he just got an apartment i just worked for less than two months and i have same...

Dont stop updating your knowledge so you can defend same on that day.. Drop your CV anyways

I decided a long time ago to stop searching for jobs.
Here is some practical things you can do to start earning money for yourself

1. Go and learn how to decorate for events and churches. I don't have a regular job, but with my knowledge of decorations, there is basically no weekend that I don't have decorations job to do.
You know in Nigeria, there is hardly a weekend without a wedding. One weekend job can earn you N20K and sometimes you can get more than one event in a week.

2. Learn how to design a website using HTML5, CSS and Javascript. There is a high demand for web designers and developers. You won't have to search for jobs if you can design websites.

3. Start writing as a freelance writer. It will amaze you to know that lots of Nigerians who work from home, earn in dollars by doing freelance job like writing and reviews.

Stay focus and you won't have to push cv anymore.

From your post, it appears you have only been searching for big big jobs. I will advice you to still search for little positions just to survive for the time being while you continue your search.... All the best and God's blessings.

Delayed blessings are always the greatest. Look up to God more for he never fails. So can get a little job to do not minding ur degree then get lost in serving God in His temple and see him move mightly for ur favour. Sucide is not and option becauce it will only speak against at judgement. Let ur bible be ur consolation.

my brother, same here with me, but keeping hope alive, tried business but too much credit, people just chose to delay in paying. 10 years after graduation and nothing to show. I'm trying to start up another business and hoping God will see me through
Re: Hope For A Graduate by IdeyVex1(m): 7:14pm On Jun 02, 2017
Dear OP,
sometimes people assume that they failed an interview because of their race, sex or other matters. Often times, it is because they are not qualified. I have interviewed people who have CVs that speak everything you can think of but I realise that CVs do not hold water anymore. Guy, when I finished school, I worked in a plastic manufacturing firm in Awka for 13k. Yes 13k. I chose to do that rather than stay with my parents. It was not easy living alone on 13k but I did it. That job gave me the experience required for my applications because when I speak at interviews, I speak from experience. Except for graduate trainee jobs, who will hire a person without experience. So my advice:

Pick a low paying job for now while you wait for your breakthrough.
Leave your parents house as soon as you get that job. Leaving that comfort zone brings out the hustler and the manager in you!
The job you will do will provide you experience and when experience speaks, CVs and education shut the f up! I know graduates who have done jobs that ordinary technicians may do. I have done it.

The world owes you nothing. You need to go out and take it. You still have a mom who was ready to sell her bike. The day I graduated from University, nothing was coming from my parents. I left the house and went to hustle. My first job came from my dad's friend. We visited the factory and I told my dad I was going to work there. I was told the job was hard but I chose to do that!

Get out of your comfort zone friend. And go hustle. I wish you the best. See you at the top.

PS: You think your mom loves you by being there for you? My brother she will love you more when you make some money and send her monthly stipends.
