Good day nairalanders, I just stumbled on this thread and i need serious help. I want to start my admission processing and I've gone through this entire thread from part 7 and I still don't get how I'm supposed to begin. I'm applying for bsc at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Minnesota, Morgan state University and University of Arkansas pine bluff. I have OND with 3.04 GPA from yabatech and was told it's equivalent to an associate degree but I'll rather just start afresh. My initial plan was to use an agent but seeing as they rip people off now, im prepared to do it on my own. So my questions are;
*what is the first step I should take? Should I write toefl exam before applying to the school or apply first?
*how should I write application to the school and how do i go about paying the non-refundable application fee? I would appreciate all the help I can get right now cos I'm confused and still contemplating using an agent. Sorry for my long post but please help a sister out. Thanks!

Sure you read all that? Part 11 alone has enough information to answer ALL your questions

Anyone travelling in a few weeks & intends to book a flight with a stopover at Qatar should consider his/her options. Its a very fluid situation over there.

Just be serious with your classes so they can renew it.
You have to be on at least 3.5/4 to remain competitive especially if you have not been promised anything
by the department and you are an MS student (MS students are generally not priority for funding in most research
institutions)
In my opinion, TA is not great for a PhD student especially if you are given a boring and large course to assist with.
It is good for a semester once in a while but not long term as you do not have enough time for research and less output to publish.
My last semester was not very interesting as I was working on a sophomore class that had 177 students with numerous
assignment and projects to grade. On top of that, the professor was like an Idi Amin.
Choose your courses wisely and start sourcing for RAs and preparing your resume for internships. Good schools
generally have large career fairs and you should also attend the NSBE conference in Philly next year. Some people who
I know who went there got either internships or full time jobs. Never underestimate your prerequisites and start studying early.
Enjoy grad school as it is a huge gift especially coming from a very different terrain of learning like ours.
You will be surprised what you can do if you work very hard. Congratulations.

Sexual harassment or the next step is a serious crime so i doubt if anything will happen without your consent...... if it happens without consert that will be in the minority because most students know of the grave consequences.....

so no worry u fit close your eyes grin

NMHU is a good school and no1 in New Mexico. The tuition fees is reasonably fair compared to others. However, it depends on your budget for tuition. It's between $18k to $20k. I hope this helps.

Yes you're good to go. Your 3.65/5 is more than 3.0/4.0. It should be in the range of 3.1-3.2/4.
Do I need to send my academic transcript to Wes before I can be considered for admission into all USA schools?

No, you don't need WES for many US schools.

I don't really like WES, I use ECE for evaluation and they are faster than WES.
How many month does it take ECE to complete an evaluation?

You can't pay sevis fee in Nigeria someone in US can help you on that.

You go to DHL office to schedule it but I strongly advise that you go to their head office before 8:30am so that it can be pick up same day you pay and also notify the sender that DHL is coming to pick it so that you won't hear touching story

If you have your sevis number, school address and contact person from your school, you can go ahead and start filling the ds160 if not wait till your i20 arrive

You can fill your ds160 and book appointment before paying sevis fee

Awesome!! Thanks alot.

Good morning everybody.

My name is James.

That being said, I'm 34 years and married with the intention of going for my PhD in Canada next year.

However, will my age stand as a factor in giving visa as i learnt Canadians do put AGE as a criteria in giving out visas?

Secondly. I have published two books on website design and development including using open source (WordPress). What are the criteria for admitting students?

God bless you all.
