have a bachelor's in chemical engineering and got admission to do post baccalaureate in occupational safety and health in usa but noticed that the courses for the post baccalaureate is almost to that of nursing. So what do u advice since I want to study nursing

I don't think the courses are so related. Are you saying some OSH courses fulfilled some parts of the required prereqs for nursing? Why are you going for another BS in form of post-bac?

Just be serious with your classes so they can renew it.
You have to be on at least 3.5/4 to remain competitive especially if you have not been promised anything
by the department and you are an MS student (MS students are generally not priority for funding in most research
institutions)
In my opinion, TA is not great for a PhD student especially if you are given a boring and large course to assist with.
It is good for a semester once in a while but not long term as you do not have enough time for research and less output to publish.
My last semester was not very interesting as I was working on a sophomore class that had 177 students with numerous
assignment and projects to grade. On top of that, the professor was like an Idi Amin.
Choose your courses wisely and start sourcing for RAs and preparing your resume for internships. Good schools
generally have large career fairs and you should also attend the NSBE conference in Philly next year. Some people who
I know who went there got either internships or full time jobs. Never underestimate your prerequisites and start studying early.
Enjoy grad school as it is a huge gift especially coming from a very different terrain of learning like ours.
You will be surprised what you can do if you work very hard. Congratulations.
pls can I PM u?

NMHU is a good school and no1 in New Mexico. The tuition fees is reasonably fair compared to others. However, it depends on your budget for tuition. It's between $18k to $20k. I hope this helps.

I doubt this part. Don't ask me why because I graduated from New Mexico.

Fill another Ds-160 afresh don't use the old one unless you just want to give away your visa fee without being interviewed

Yes it is. But email your school to confirm if it's accepted

Hello guyz, Pls how do I get DHL to pick up my i20 from a NewYork address and send it to Lagos.

Adding to what others have said...

*You will need the "sender's" name, address, email and phone number (make sure the sender is available to pick up).

A missed pickup takes 1-2weeks for a refund and will cost you a N1,000 'administrative processing fee' (I experienced or I'm 'still experiencing' it).

*The sender has to fill DHL's waybill with your information - name, phone number & Nigerian address where the document will be received. Ensure someone will be available to receive it (the delivery man had to make sacrifices to track me to a different location I was at cos I wasn't home to receive). Earned him money for 2 bottles of **** wink

Pleasiooo, ensure the sender in the U.S is ready to fill the waybill cos DHL doesn't fill it. Twice experienced this.

[s]Lagos should be cheaper than 22k, document arrives Lagos b4 it gets to P/H. Sending documents within Nigeria is[/s] 5k+, [s]so I did a little 'alaroro' mathematics for you.[/s] Don't quote me anywiaaaa! cheesy

How many month does it take ECE to complete an evaluation?

Mine took 12 days and they don't get back to your school for confirmation like WES does, which really takes time.the only disadvantage is that it reduces CGPA when compared to WES

Thanx for ur reply. The post baccalaureate is compulsory for master in osh for international students . there courses like psychology, biology, organic and inorganic chemistry incorporated in the post baccalaureate subject which can be seen in the prerequisites for nursing. I was thinking maybe to do a change of course to nursing bachelor obtain the prerequisites in the first year and transfer to a school that offers direct entry masters in nursing. I really don't know how feasible it is for an international student. Thanx again

Put down your profile first. GPA,GRE,TOEFL and the schools you applied to. Plus just read this thread. Even a Mad blind man would learn a lot from here... lipsrsealed

GPA = 3.13/4.00, GRE = 311 (AW = 3.5), TOEFL = 101; UL Lafayette alone

it now a bit late for Fall if you need funding ......... You have posted this before and the only way forward as mentioned below is to spread your options and apply to others schools . You cant put all your eggs in one basket if funding is your only option . You have a profile enough for funding but you have to step away from UL Lafayette if two years now funding didn't happen.

I think there might be other reasons why you are applying to only one school and you can pm me off line lets discuss .

Also, can I fill my student visa application form without having my i20 form in hand?
Finally can I fill and complete my visa application form without paying for SEVIS fee yet?
Will it be advisable for me to pay my SEVIS fee through the USA or from nigeria?
Thanks.

Yes you can once the school sends you a soft/unsigned copy via email
