Yours truly bought M&B at 4.10 years back, and out of annoyance decided not to sell it till the stock gets near the price I bought. Thinks I am nearer now than before and would sell immediately it touches N3

It would have been better if you bought more units in order to reduce your cost basis, and maybe start thinking of profitability. Dumping may start before it gets to that price.

Good point no doubt. But I decided not to buy more after remembering what happens to me during oceanic (madam cecilia era) period, when I was busy loading the oceanic falling knife till they cleared my doubt with share reconstruction.

That's why I said that if I have my way, I will not only ban him on this forum, I will ban him on having any internet connectivity. He's a 10 dimensional human being. Most times, I do believe that he has never bought any stock in his life.

To be frank...to make real money from the NSE you only need to invest in not more than 3 stocks at any given time. Especially retail investors with below 50 Million.

Even if it is less, play the volume. take profit when due and move to the next.

That was the mistake I made in my newbie days of 2003-2004. Buying multiple stocks on impulse with my 2naira portfolio.

Since the turn of the decade, this your advise has been my Golden Fleece.

The more stocks you have in your portfolio the less you're able to monitor them. The fewer the better.

Exactly why I said most retail investors don't need more than 3 stocks in their portfolio. You will make money accumulating 1 or 2 stocks and taking profit accordingly.

Not only average down. If they pay dividend should have reinvest it. When the price was down.

Now you will be talking of some profit. I do not buy stock without good history of dividend because

that could be the cushion in time of bear market.

The best time to average down is when the particular stock is obviously bullish. If you bought a reasonable amount of unit you could be talking about profit in the next trading day or two if the gain continued.

Dangote flour at current price still have enough fuel, before this month end they will get to #7, come next month they will head to #10 and above.
You still have enough time to buy more and thank me later.
Our q2 EPS will be above 60 kobo, meaning that our final year EPS should be around 250 kobo to 300 kobo.

As for morgan capital, truly I was angry with them.
But as a christian, with joy of the begin of Dangote flour journey, I have forgiving them.

But they should better not try it next time.

Hum, that was taught in the books of who knows market timing.

When good stocks move down for no obvious reasons you buy more.

Yes, that is for a good dividend paying stock. But if you're trying to bail out from a stock you're trapped in, it is risky buying more units as the price dips.
