I got an update for 8.2.10.0 some days back but when I checked today, it has reverted back to 8.2.5.0. Is something wrong with the 8.2.10.0 update or update is incremental?

GrandMufti:

Rename the downloaded ROM file to ‘update.zip’ on the computer.

Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded and renamed in Step 1 into the root directory of the internal storage of your device. (Do not put it in any folder).

Launch ‘Updater’ app on your device, click the ‘…’ icon at the top-right corner, and select ‘choose update package'.

Navigate to the system root folder where the downloaded rom is located and select the file. Then your device will begin updating automatically. Wait until the update is completed, choose ‘Reboot’, and then your device should boot to the new version.

take a full backup and restore later. You will not lose any app or App Data.
Music, Video and Photos needs to be backed up separately to PC or OTG Pendrive.Search google for more.

For Backup: -
Go to Settings---Additional Settings---Backup and Reset------Local Backups.
Backup all the app and other data(You can Choose Only few Apps Also). The backup will be saved in Memory card or Internal Memory in MIUI ----Backup----Allbackup.

The name of Folder will be current Date and contains all apps with extension dot bak. Copy it to PC or OTG Pendrive and restore later.

Now make a full reset of device and restore the data back using backup app.

Put the backup folder in same folder where from you copied it.

Note: you can also backup before updating, just to be safe.

Please screenshot your 'about phone'

I'll advice you first try to check for update before downloading. Like below

Not at all. It's a nightly update pushed to random users. You won't get such update notification again until it's pushed to the general public. If you are risk averse, do not install these type of updates until you are sure it's going to solve bugs/ provide system stability.

I'm not entirely sure if it's peculiar to mtk devices, but I can check for updates without changing regions. If you have a strong network connection, you can try it.

I was particularly referring to RN4X not all Xiaomi phones.
At the bolded, don't even go there, Gionee budget phones performes much better than RN4X in camera.
