Looking up, his eyes met that of Phil who was looking at them with shock written all over his face. With a smile, he pulled Claire to a chair and signalled to Phil to come sit beside him. Phil turned around and left the VIP session and began to walk to the bar. Kelvin was surprised. He stood rooted to the spot until Phil turned with a bottle of water and a smile.



Seeing her like that, he knew she had taken more than her head can carry. He had to get her something and water was the only option at the moment. After getting the water, he bagan to walk back to the VIP session, not failing to notice the surprise look on Kelvin's face.

"Hey man, smile please. I no dey vex." He shouted to Kelvin as soon as he got in.

Kelvin smiled and they shook hands.

"You didn't tell me she was here."

"Same way she doesn't know that you're here." Came Kelvin's twisted reply.

Phil looked at her. She was chatting with one of the girls.
He went to her and pulled her up and her eyes widened in shock.

They both embraced each other and he led her out of the club after Kelvin gave him the permission with a nod.

She stood up and walked to the kitchen. She looked around. She had Noddles so she would cook it with the special ingredient she had dropped for the little witches(rats) in her apartment.

She got out the bottle of insecticide and emptied it into the pot then proceeded to write her last chapter.

They laughed at the coincidence and went back to the club, laughing like old time friends.

Someone was messing with his family. Someone whose intention is evil. How can someone be jobless enough to send him pictures of his wife in a club if the person didn't have the intention of separating them?
He had been up all night, thinking about all that Ebere had said. But why didn't Claire tell him that she would be hanging out with Kelvin? maybe it was mere coincidence? but what about the barrister? maybe he was with Kelvin and then, they ran into his wife. He stood up and went to wash up. He was going to Abuja to see his wife.

She woke up with a heavy banging on her head. The time read 10;35am. She looked at her phone, expecting missed calls from her husband but she didn't see any, except a mail from jiji, thanking her for coming and asking after her night.
she yawned and stood up, stretching her weak self before heading to the bathroom to brush her teeth.

she came out three minutes later, picked up her phone and dialed her hubby's number. he picked after the third ring;

"hello bae." he said into the phone

"hi honey. good morning." she said, stifling a yawn.

"morning dear. you sound tired, are you just waking up?"

"yes baby. went out with Kelvin and Phil last night. you remember Phil don't you?"

she heard him heave a sigh and she smiled

Thank God her husband was a changed man, if not, she was sure that she will be signing divorce papers after he must have beaten jiji out of her system. He won't even hear from her. She thanked God with a sincere smile and proceeded to shower.

Christian sat down on the plastic chair beside her bed and looked at her. she looked away, facing the wall.

"i brought you here." he said calmly

She turned to him with anger

"why? did i ask you to help me? you would have allowed me to die but no, you want to be the goody two shoes. you would have left me to die." she cried

"life and death is for the Lord to give. The Holy Spirit directed me to your flat and i was there right on time to see you pass out. Listen, no matter what we pass through in life, it doesn't give us the right to take our own life."

He smiled then looked at her intently;

She wept and he took her hands, praying for God's mercy.
