I smoke because I want to. There's no real reason. It does give you a bit of a buzz though, particularly if you haven't smoked for a while. I calms you down too. Side effects of not smoking is extreme irritability, so I guess you keep smoking to avoid getting cranky & bitchy.

Good morning everyone, I would just head straight to the point here.

I happen to be a person who does not find smoking even the said harmless shisha fun. I hate it so much that I advice my friends to stop it when they do it in clubs. I also hate drinks as well, be it alcohol, beer or the popular kerewa hard drinks. I can at least settle down with malt as I don't take fanta, Pepsi, coke and the rest of the sugary drinks


Now my problem is my friends, they indirectly insult me over this, even my own brother did too, saying I look too soft cos I'm not doing weed or shisha at least which is harmless, that I'm not man enough physically. Its become persistent that its starting to worry me and I just wanna hear someone say I'm doing what's right and not wrong...

I'm not tryna show/say I'm a Holy person but I just don't like it. Is this normal? Are there guys like me out there?

Lol, not thanks. Chesterfield, Rothmans & Stuyvesant are too strong for me. Btw, Chesterfield is my dad's favourite. I smoke Craven A Slim only. It's more gentle on the lungs & doesn't have an after-taste. I wanna quit though. I'm just scared of the withdrawal symptoms & getting fat due to the overeating that comes with it

Magosha just because someone smokes? Are you kidding me! I'm the farthest thing from a free giving slut. I don't even go to clubs. Alcohol imo, has more to do with such behavior than cigarettes. Cigarettes don't alter your behavior & inhibitions.

Lucky you! How did you do it? I'm thinking of buying nicotine patches but I'm not sure how effective they are. My voice is getting a little husky lol. I wanna stop before I start sounding like the head of the house My other stumbling block is gaining weight. Because you do eat a lot to substitute the smoking, I've tried. I can't believe how quickly I ballooned in just one week. Plus I was angry all the time. LOL!

Just about a month ago I went with a friend of mine to visit his other friend. The guy offered me a drink which I refused. Then he said "you be weak man ooo."

I laughed and answered. "bros if I want fall for this kind talk no be when I don turn 32."

Such emotional blackmail tactics has been hurled at me since I was a teenager both in terms of alcohol, smoke and women. Never got to me.


I advise you. Be humble. Whenever anyone attacks you this way, always agree that you are a "mugu."

Most people from where you're from, perhaps. Because only here on NL have I heard such a ridiculous thing. Here it's not a big deal just as long as a lady does it respectfully eg. not smoking while walking in the streets, like a man. A lady is required to sit down & have a smoke while sitting down. Personally, I smoke indoors. Preferably at home because I do understand that in some cultures, even here, they look at it somehow. But white people, Coloureds & people from my culture have no problem with smoking. Whites & Coloureds even do it publicly.

Chesterfield is soft on the lungs too,I don't know about cigarettes that much tho.I'm not addicted to smoking,the reason I like Chesterfield is because it leaves a sweet minty taste on the tip of the tongue.Is difficult for you to quit?

I don't like the taste of Chesterfield lol. Maybe it's Chesterfield menthol you're smoking if it has a minty taste because the original tastes horrible & is too strong.
