Most people from where you're from, perhaps. Because only here on NL have I heard such a ridiculous thing. Here it's not a big deal just as long as a lady does it respectfully eg. not smoking while walking in the streets, like a man. A lady is required to sit down & have a smoke while sitting down. Personally, I smoke indoors. Preferably at home because I do understand that in some cultures, even here, they look at it somehow. But white people, Coloureds & people from my culture have no problem with smoking. Whites & Coloureds even do it publicly.
Angifuni ukuthi uzizwe ucasuliwe ngamazwana ami

kukulimaze, ngiyaxolisa uma ubuhlungu buhlungu
kakhulu.

I don't like the taste of Chesterfield lol. Maybe it's Chesterfield menthol you're smoking if it has a minty taste because the original tastes horrible & is too strong.

Yeah, it's very difficult, Jace. I'm an addict tongue
Different strokes for different folks perhaps.

How do you guys get hooked on those things? I used sneak upon my father's pack of stuyvesent when I was young and I would smoke them on a corner somewhere, but I never got addicted to cigs

Smoking and drinking are cultural habits, I guess. In the north-west, because of Islam, smoking is more common than drinking. You know drinking alcohol is "haram" in Islam. Most of the guys I know up there smoke, and few girls too. In the South generally drinking is more acceptable than smoking. I've noticed that in the South-south people smoke more than in the South-west. A smoker friend from the south-south once complained about how more difficult it is to get cigarette in the south-west compared to the south-south.
In all of these cultures though, women don't smoke or drink like men.

Lucky you! How did you do it? I'm thinking of buying nicotine patches but I'm not sure how effective they are. My voice is getting a little husky lol. I wanna stop before I start sounding like the head of the house grin My other stumbling block is gaining weight. Because you do eat a lot to substitute the smoking, I've tried. I can't believe how quickly I ballooned in just one week. Plus I was angry all the time. LOL!

The nicotine patches worked for me plus I changed some of my daily routines . Lol @ sounding like the head of the house , I was asking my other cousin last weekend when she will stop coz her voice is starting to sound scary , she's like never grin. With regards to weight gain, damn I ballooned in a short period of time myself but quickly made morning jogging my new habit. Lol @ being angry all the time. I know that feeling. Getting irritated by just about anything or anyone grin

Good morning everyone, I would just head straight to the point here.

I happen to be a person who does not find smoking even the said harmless shisha fun. I hate it so much that I advice my friends to stop it when they do it in clubs. I also hate drinks as well, be it alcohol, beer or the popular kerewa hard drinks. I can at least settle down with malt as I don't take fanta, Pepsi, coke and the rest of the sugary drinks
b]Now my problem is my friends, they indirectly insult me over this, even my own brother did too, saying I look too soft cos I'm not doing weed or shisha at least which is harmless, that I'm not man enough physically. Its become persistent that its starting to worry me and I just wanna hear someone say I'm doing what's right and not wrong...[/b]

I'm not tryna show/say I'm a Holy person but I just don't like it. Is this normal? Are there guys like me out there?
You're not alone at all.... Stand your ground, you got nothing to loss.

Op don't mind them. When their kidneys, lungs and livers start deteriorating, then we will know who is man enough. Nonsense.

Drinking or smoking is a choice and it has nothing to do with being a man. Being a man is a call to responsibilities and not the other way round. Afterall, ladies also drink or smoke, does that make them a man?

You are good the way you are and nothing do you.
