Oyo empire is the first Yoruba empire to be discovered in Nigeria...what do you mean by copy cats??Clearly, your name "history" is making me wanna tease you but I won't...the Oyo Empire is the first Yoruba empire in Nigeria...i repeat it again Oyo empire is the first, largest, strongest and oldest empire in western Nigeria(can't say for Nigeria as a whole)
oyo was a small kingdom which came to exist in the mid 19th century and had been partly overran by fula when the british colonization conquest started.

Make BINI carry their wahala go. They have no respect for my ancestors. We don't need people that will use a left handedness to point to their ancestors home..

LoL, I see you're getting seriously ignored but I'll give you the attention you so desire but for one time only.

At the emboldened, are you aware the Oba of Lagos is only the Oba of Idumota and every other corner of modern Lagos state belongs to the Yoruba of Awori, Ijebu, Ikoyi whose kings are directly connected to Ife/Oduduwa, Awujale, Alaafin and Ogu people of Badagry. And Oba of Lagos' kingdom is no more than few streets?

I hope the Oba of Eko and your historical documents told you that as well.
Stop quoting slave descendant.Dont let him derail this thread. OYATSE /OYASHÉ are slaves descendants. I mock BINI peoples. But , honestly don't allow him distract you.

If i may ask, what will be the fate of the "Eguns" found in Ogun and lagos states in a homogeneous yoruba nation?

Because I think the issue of who to allow and who not to allow, process of migration etc will be one of the problems we might encounter.

Egun is regarded as a separate ethnic group in Nigeria.. Even most of our terrestrial stations in the South west have programmes being televised in Egun language for Egun listeners. . Although i agree most Eguns speak yoruba and also bear yoruba names but they still maintain their identity... People are saying only Yoruba language should be spoken.. What about Egun language?

In the event we have an homogeneous yoruba nation, are we going to make sure the Eguns assimilate completely or maintain the status quo of having them as minority in the Yoruba nation?

I think we have all agreed that we don't want anything igbo or ijaw in a yoruba nation

They can be allowed to retain their culture, if we forcefully assimilate them, it'll be a form of ethnic cleansing. Let's say it'll be like Republic of Turkey, where Kurds who are minorities are allowed.

Bini is not Yoruba, we only had a connection with their throne and arts and that is where it stops.
The same way Eko (Lagos Island) is Yoruba populated but Oba Bini had a connection with Eleko's throne and that is where it stops.
They were shut of the throne by Ologun Kutere. A Yoruba man whose father was from Ijesa called Alaagba. Yoruba always keep records. Don't mind them jaare

No, they were "shut of the throne" by super man and spider man combined as a team of super "yoruba" record keepers.

I don't even care if Owa Obokun himself impregnated Ologun kutere, Eleko is no different from Emir of Ilorin whose maternal progenitor was from Oyo, I think Iseyin. Eko's throne has been hijacked by Bini, the same way fura drinkers hijacked ilorin. We cannot keep trying to romance these thrones, we need to cut them down to size abd dwindle their influece -- you see what Bini have done to Yoruba influence on their throne? We need start doing the same.

It is time Olotto, the representative of Olofin Ogunfunminire is raised to his actual status of ownership of Lagos and all Awori land.

Eleko has no royal bearings in history, the office is an appendage of Oba Bini and should not be lord over kings with ancestral crowns predating the white clothe tying over the head baale

It shows that your knowledge of history is depraved. The Oduduwa you call your own is actually a Bini Monarch. The Edo's are the founder s of your Yoruba kingdom that you pride. Your revered ancestors migrated from Edo and not the other way round, check your history and let go of the ignorance promoted by your constituent.
Obaluf0n:

Buoda mi, I resonate with your thought here but I want to take it further that Edo should be set apart from the list.

Uncle ooduapathfinder

I doubt we have any land(s) in Edo. I am starting to dislike our seeming fixation on Edo -- we have nothing in common with them other than one of our ancestors going there to help fix their inept monarchy. After he left, the monarchy was hijacked and it is now an Edo thing. Outside our influence on the monarchy/art, we are different from the Edo peoples. I feel we should let them out of this abeg, they do not belong to us and we do not belong to them. Our bond had long been cut off by them with the creation of Mid-Western Region, please let us leave it at that.

Some people here don't seem to understand that yoruba have no history because the word and the grouping (which you now call yoruba) is a very new thing, it is not even as old as the niger coast company !
You guys need to spend some days in a good library and educate yourselves on African history before just spewing a lot of rubbish.

for the currency we may need to continue with the Naira, but the name of the new republic may also determine it.
for forex, agriculture,IT and mineral resources is our best bet. thats one reason i would want us to include if not all but parts of kogi, it has the resources.

of course Government policy on easy of doing business is important also. we also need to review some of our bilateral agreements.

I think it's best we change the currency boss because holding to naira means we are still maintaining the status quo. What will determine the value of your currency then will lie on our foreign exchange earnings.
