Hmmm......I must insist on an explanation. When did you compare other SSA armies and what were your results, please?

His brain on a delusional comparison mode... I tell you, if Nigerian Armed Forces had even half the equipment of Algeria's military it would be rubbed on our faces everyday. All we'd hear from him would be "look at the strongest military in SSA, Giants of this, you don't compare, blah blah blah ".

in the contract Algeria get 6 Mi-26T2 , 42 Mi-28N and the upgrade of 39 Mi-171Sh for 2.7 billion dollars.

iraki get 30 Mi-28 and 42 Pantsir-S1 air defense systems for 4,2 billion dollars ..

Difficult to get the figures when it is structured as a lump sum.

PILOT TRAINING: NAF TAKES DELIVERY OF FIRST BATCH OF SUPER MUSHSHAK AIRCRAFT

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today took delivery of the first batch of 5 out of 10 Super Mushshak aircraft being expected from Pakistan. The first batch of the trainer aircraft, which is for the primary flying training of NAF pilots at 401 Flying Training School, Kaduna, was received on arrival by the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Chris Okoye.

It would be recalled that the NAF inducted the Super Mushshak aircraft into the NAF inventory on 5 December 2016. This followed the kind gesture of the Pakistan Government to temporarily make 4 Super Mushshak aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force available to the NAF, at no cost, to immediately commence the training of NAF pilots. Since then, the in-house training of NAF pilots had resumed in earnest. With the arrival of the first batch of the NAF's trainer aircraft, the local training of NAF student pilots will receive a boost at a much reduced cost. The new aircraft will soon be inducted into service after assembly and successful test flights.

I am very grateful for this anatomy/ dissection of this raid for years , without any proof I was led to believe that the SBS and the British used Helicopters and that was what alerted the kidnappers. This has now been shown to be untrue.
The kidnappers were jittery because two days before, one of the kidnappers was arrested, this was then leaked to our press who are still clueless released the information. lipsrsealed undecided

See, when someone makes a statement he should have some kind of respect for the people reading. Those are the very posts that actually start mayhem.

It's only fair if someone made a statement like "our military has gained plenty of experience in with its current engagements" which is a true statement than to say "there is no country in SSA which has developed the sort of capacity we have to deal with contemporary African threats".... WTF? This is the sh#t that destroyed the other thread we originally come from.

We make those like we are harvesting yam. It is not seasonal.

That's really what i love the most, Nigerian fighter pilots are all so young it is impressive. As we assets continue to come in and mission pile up, we can only continue to go up.

At this pace, we might need to hire fighter pilots to other countries.

No Question. I might add arguably From Cape To Cairo. Algeria has shown capacity but it's scorched methodology of COIN takes no prisoners.

I hate to trade words but we should not bury our heads in sand like ostriches just because dem say make we no talk true. In the whole of Africa only Algeria and Nigeria have 2000 millenium large scale war experience and assorted light equipment and air flight mapping planes specially tailored for anti-terrorism. Libya is also getting good experience slowly, achieving much with little equipment. It was 2015 Abuja, big class military generals from South Africa invited themselves to Ship House, big cars drove in entourage with mission to request joint military training and exchange programme with Nigeria to tap the new millenium age rich experience from NA, NAF, NN, MOPOL, DSS on secrets of how they defeated Boko Haram despite arms embargo from USA, EU, NATO.

Unfortunately the Nigerian DHQ knew the mission and stylishly nicely respectfully denied the South Africans, they refused to share new millenium war knowledge and instead said we can both train freshmen entery level in exchange program, they barred any war experienced Nigerian from the South African exchange programme. I asked the junior officers why their bosses played that game on a fellow AU member, they said South African military wants to reap where they did not sow, but whatever that means, I probed no further, to me it was too harsh a manner to hide secrets from an AU member, terrorists are everybody's enemy. Why refuse to share Boko Haram secrets with an AU member? I dont get it, or is it about money, did the South Africans ask for freebies?
