You likely won't find a budget sheet sample on the US travel docs site. Use the search button above, indicate images, and under travel section... You'd find one here on NL

Otokini01:
Please guys where can i get a sample of a budget sheet on the us website?

I'm really hoping for fresh ATL info like this o... All my research has still boiled down to the famous 3 NorthSide, Emory & Piedmont repeatedly mentioned here on NL
Any help from veteran ATL mums & dads...? (Shawbabe wink etc)
...as I'm close to tying one down by paying, lest Congress passes Trump's signature health care bill and there is a panic price jump...God forbid o.

@Xclusivemaama....
are u at Phoenix now? my DW will be coming in next week.

apparently very few people at NL visit Phoenix so you have less info.

my DW used Maryville Hospital two years ago at 4500USD (CS) recommended by her obgyn... who is affiliated to AOB (Arizona Obgyn).

She is thinking of checking other places at lower rate when she lands. The AOB charges 3500USD, then paed and other stuffs.

you can also google Phoenix baby hospitals; which i did then to locate the doc and hospitals. There is also Banner Estraller Group...

Best of luck...

Good Morning guys,

After my first post here i had been getting emails and inquiries. I did not realize I had to actually reply from my email. I thought Nairaland had that dm option. If i had know I wouldn't have registered with my 'official private email' grin grin grin Let me address some of the questions here.

1. No I do not have a rented apartment in Chicago. I will be staying with family- However, I am going to America tomorrow and I could look around and give a cost estimate for apartment or you can check Airbnb

2. I do not have a flight for my birth trip in May. I only have for this trip. Using Emirates. Dubai-Los Angeles-Chicago-Dubai. Cost about 800 USD for my husband and I.

3. I am most likely using Presence Health Group Chicago, the closest hospital to my host is St. Francis Hospital. All inclusive cost without epidural and pediatrician is USD 3,500. I can't give reviews oo. Haven't even seen the hospital. Epidural is 650.

Okbye!

Hello i know this is froma last year post but plsPls how was your experience woth the Presence Health Group. the whole process and the fee package.thanks.

Exactly, best approach is to find a VBAC doctor and he/she will tell you which hospital to contact. The 3 common VBAC hospitals in HOuston are Ben Taub; Texas Children's Hospital and Womans Hospital of Texas. (The hospitals in the medical centre sha) but the fee cant be compared in any way with HNWMC, Oakbend etc,.. they are quite more expensive. TCH sent me a quote of about $9000 for hospital fee alone which i am still contesting, cos their mail stated it was hospital and doctor but when i called the lady said, it's for hospital alone. WOmans is $5102 VD and $7959 CS exclusive of Ped and Anaesthetic. lipsrsealed

Doctors charge more for VBAC as well. Typically more expensive than what they would charge for CS. Not uncommon for the price to be the cost of CS x 2.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by ajobi21: 9:03am On Aug 08, 2017
This is not true. I did a vbac in New jersey and I paid the price for vaginal delivery. Unless if you are telling me that it is different for Houston.

Was your doctor a resident or private doctor? Doctors are required to be with you at the onset of labour, this is why most private doctors do not perform VBAC and why they charge a significantly higher price if they do.

@xclusivemaama ,We did not do anything to them dear.
It's just that a lot of them will tell you they don't take international patients in case you need them to give you things to show while applying for visa.
But when you get there and go to them they take you on as a local resident, so next time you call give a address of the place you are planning to staying even if it's a hotel.
That's the way to go.

I sent someone over there too to the hospital and he confirmed the same.. Had a cousin that used them in 2014 but when she contacted them last year for her second baby, they said they have closed their services to Nigerians..
I just had to call and satisfy my curiousity and got the same response.. I really dont know again sha

Thanks so much Davsquared! Actually reached Grady as one of the first option but their new policy effective Jan 27, 2017 , has prohibited international patients. Gwinnett & East side are more pricey than the famous 3.
Which of the Northside locations did you use? Any preferences on your opinion?

Thanks a lot!

Hello House, a colleague of mine needs some clarifications;

He is sponsoring his wife for child birth (who is currently not working) and has the funds for the trip in his account. Planned visa appointment for next Monday, his concerns are;

1) should the funds be transferred to her account (a new account)

2) Husband not going on the trip due to work constraints, is this gonna be problem considering she is yet to resume any work here

3) any other advise to him to increase their chances of visa approval?

Urgent response will be appreciated.
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by SuperDad: 4:39pm On Aug 08, 2017
That's nice to know. So I guess for people who want to get theirs done in the US, asking if it's the "Gomco Clamp" method may be fairly good guide. The method commonly used in Nigeria is "Plastibel". Who knows, they may just be same in principle with different names.

Na wa o! Seems the really really low cost 'county' hospitals are systematically taking out international patients...are we getting a trend here?
I hope it's just a policy tilt and not that we have gone to "show ourselves" there again o... Lol

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by SuperDad: 4:52pm On Aug 08, 2017
Hi mymy2015,
In my opinion I think they already stand good chances based on the info you provided all other things being equal

1. Funds should be kept in account(s) where they are now. Bulk transfers into an empty account are not a good idea...especially when close to interview dates. It might set off an unintended red flag.

2. Husband not going serves as a tie of some sort, making it more likely for her to be given the visa in my opinion.

3. Other advice... Tell the truth only; regular things mentioned here- budget sheet, doctor's correspondence, presentation of a reasonable estimate (15-20k in my opinion), evidence of sufficient funds; Communicating confidently and not giving one-word answers etc...and expect grace & favour (I hope those are now acceptable words here o... Lol)
