I just want to know...if uber is present in Nigeria, does that mean GPS is working everywhere in Nigeria...Or just only some states..

GPS has almost universal coverage (The exception is at the poles) and has been available for civilian use worldwide since the 1980s. It has nothing to do with Uber.
All high end smartphones and most medium specs smartphones have a GPS receiver.

It's unfortunate that someone who is supposed to know much about cars is saying Google maps is programmed to make cars take longer routes.

This is what happens when someone who regularly does copy and paste attempts to come up with something original. He ends up disgracing himself.

OP, basic commonsense would tell you that Google maps when used for directions gives you the fastest routes and not the shortest route.

Go and read up more and stop disgracing yourself here.
lol.

the guy is shameless.... i wonder who posted this to the homepage.

there is a cash option for naija....

so how are u gonna balance the account with uber administration...I heard it was 30:70 share for every trip.. If a driver got a cash options, don't u think that he might end up cheating the Uber admin because it was not transparent or will i say reflecting on the customer's account

no. it is optional.

it only becomes mandatory when riders decide to cheat uber by not paying the driver. in that case, uber blocks the rider's account from cash option and mandates them to input card details to enable them pay off their debts if they want to continue using the service.

nope.

it's 75:25. 25 to uber.

he cant cheat uber because he must take card trips during the week. card trips are paid directly to uber and uber makes whatever deductions they are owed.

Why I was asking was that i believe there are places in Nigeria that got no street names.. So there's no way the GPS can direct u to the actual place that u are going..

The fact that Uber uses Google Maps for map data doesn't mean that Google is responsible for navigation. Uber does it's own routing.

unfortunately there isnt. and you cant create 2 uber accts with the same phone number.

you have to keep swapping sims. only a die hard scammer would do that any way.

Rickety cars
Sometimes you’ll be feeling cool that you just requested a cab through your phone expecting a fully air conditioned and stress free ride. Instead, some cars will just arrive with terrible shock absorbers, fuel smell inside the car or AC not working. Has anyone experienced this? Tell us your experience.

If you haven't experienced it why bring it up? You just want to say something right? Please if you know you are jobless go look for a car register with Uber or taxify and start working instead of discrediting them.

Uber abi taxify mouthpiece, easy.

I've requested Uber in Lagos, few weeks ago, only for a Toyota Camry 'Tiny Light' to show up feeling cool. And I thought their benchmark was 2006 model cars upwards. Didn't have any problem with that because I only needed transportation at the time, but it was a let down, standards wise.

ignorant talk.

google always takes over navigation from the uber app....

if you do not know, ask the next uber driver to show you so that you avoid such ignorant comments next time on a public forum.

You're the one who is ignorant. Uber has it's own navigation app.
Although drivers have the option to use third party navigation apps.

Exactly I was wanting to write something similar to your post.
I had an issue with taxify app last week Friday, booked for a taxify cab. The driver demanded for a cash payment for card payment ride. He said he was going to request that cash payment be made for the ride. Also on my life using uber and taxify no drivers has ever taken a stop to buy fuel or take a ease but this guy had 3 stops buying fuel and easing himself and he also took a longer route so as to get more money from the trip.

The driver was very unprofessional and rude. He insisted I paid cash for the trip even despite Taxify has already deducted 5,500 from my bank account. I ended up giving him 2k cash just let me go.

They are scamming us big time

Its neither Uber nor Taxify that program google map. 2nd Taxify doesn't charge rider for cancellation. 3rd there is nothing like scam there, get your fact right before coming to the public
