Back in season 6 when sansa and jonsnow wanted to take back winterfell from Ramsey bolton. They needed blackfish army in riverrun. But blackfish wanted to fight off the frey/lannister from taking back the castle from him. Not untill Lord Edmure surrrendered the castle.

So my question now is. When they surrendered, why didnt jamie allow the tully army ride north to help sansa reclaim winterfell since that's what he sent brienne to do.

Jaime and Brienne swore an oath to Cat to return her daughters to her. Since Cat died, Jaime sends Brienne off to look for Sansa and protect her. He's still a member of House Lannister however, and will fight for his house. Arming House Stark with a Tully army will only serve against House Lannister.

-You pay taxes to the crown, not the King in the North.
-You provide armies for the crown, when in need.
-You keep the crown's peace in the particular region.
-You basically answer to the crown. That's the difference.
The crown in turn provides certain services as reward; Justice, Certain Rights and Liberties, etc.
