Why do all your advice always border on the topic of boy-girl relationships and marriage? Is it that your existence is built around those things? Or is it because you're only mentally capable of dealing with those sort of triffling issues?

You're trying too hard to impress Nairaland males (and men in general), or is that not the purpose of this thread? To subtly advertise that you would make a very ''homely wife" – an euphemism for "domesticated pet".

Why not learn to live for yourself (and not for men), to aspire for greater things, rather than slaving your entire existence in a pathetic bid to be seen as "marriable" by men?

You are too basic and simple-minded, just like many Nigerian girls out there. Too simple, too average, too ordinary.

Very unnecessary. You don't have to be condescending to sound smart and intellectual. Fyi, it's okay to be ''too simple, too average, too ordinary''. Not everyone can be overly intelligent or extraordinary. She put up a harmless topic, and was open to different opinions. There were other people that had different opinions but didn't resort to name calling.

Cooking is a skill, being a woman does not mean that you will know how to cook naturally, we learn how to cook.
And also in marriage, if the man want to be cooking,no Problem,
cooking has no gender jare

Cooking is also a duty; U don't have to like it to do it. It is like a man saying that he will not work because he doesn't like stress. Life is abt duties too.

Go and re-read that post, I've added some vital points for your benefit. grin

What else can you say beyond "K''? Prove me wrong for once by doing something unexpected.
You're docile, conforming, ordinary, "un-opinionated", and have always shown a patent disregard for the intellectually stimulating --- a trait rife among many members of your gender, especially in this part of the world. May I never be cursed as to have someone like you for a bride. It'd be no different from wedding an unquestioning lamb.

Totter off now, and don't you give up your day-job of day-dreaming about the day of your wedding and how splendid your wedding gown would be — it's the acme of your life achievements and all you are ever good for.

Oga shut the Bleep up. Whether we like it or not there are ingridients that make for a successful marriage and the both genders have to play their roles in this regard. She was just trying to expantiate one of the roles society places on the women folk in marriage. I see no fault in that. You are the kind of person who lives life by theory and would always regret at the end.

It's not "name-calling" if it's true. If I used the adjective 'tall' on Yao Ming (the basketballer), it's not 'name-calling' but merely me stating an obvious truth.

Since you say her topic was meant to be open to different opinions then why did she attack my opinion when she said that I was trying too hard to impress, and why aren't you chastising her instead, after all she is also guilty of name-calling? Your critic is grossly biased.

Loving a simple life and being simple-minded are two very different things. You embody the latter, as evidenced by the petty nature of your mindset which your comments on this forum never fail to reveal, and also your topical interests on Nairaland.

Confabulate all you want, but the true explanation as to why you prefer 'simple' matters is because you're not smart enough to come to grips with 'complex and more worth-while' issues. It's for this same reason that you look with wistful eyes to the day of your marriage. Finally! You can get to off-load all responsibilities to prince charming and not worry your little, pretty head over any thing that demands even the slightest mental computation.

Go on ahead, Oyin!... No one's stopping you!... Marry, spread your legs every night for prince charming, have 10 children, grow fat, and then die. Congratulations, Oyinkansola/Oyindamola, you've lived a life of purpose and fulfillment. Muah! cheesy

Just because you think so doesn't make it 'true'. The example you gave of the basketballer doesn't relate to this at all. It's correct to use the adjective tall to qualify him 'cause obviously he is tall. However, calling her simple minded, too average and ordinary isn't the truth. That's just your own perception of her. I'm not attacking you ' cause you have a different opinion from hers, but because instead of just countering her opinion like you did, you went further and called her names. Attack the message and not the messenger. If for anything, I think because she was able to come out to state her opinion, albeit a bit flawed, as you rightly pointed out, she is not simple minded but only more open to learn.

You should. Everyone's view differs. Life has shaped us into what we are. You shouldn't go about insulting people because their views doesn't sit with yours. You should learn to respect people's opinion. Anyway, this world will be very boring if we all think alike. tongue
