i have a clean history...if they go through my bank over the years they will discover no dubious transaction

But if I may ask, how come the money was able to be transferred? U sed he used a card to transfer... How come? Cos I believe the card wud have been used at the ATM. So if he got to the ATM, he shud have been able to withdraw... So I'm a bit skeptical about this story

The same thing happened to me o my Wema Bank acct has been Freezed.

A classmate stole his mum's money and transfer it to my account..

I will have be in jail now if no be GOD

Though the thing was later settled and the boy was no where to be found

My greatest mistake was going to the bank to withdraw the money he transferred to my account.

But later I discovered that my account has been Freezed.

Tho i am using two bank Skye Bank and Wema Bank..

I lodge complaint but I was asked to go and rectify some changes in my BVN at Skye Bank (the bank I create my BVN with)

But my thought is that The name I used in Skye Bank is different from Wema Bank e.g Adekola Adewumi Martins in Skye Bank and Adewumi Martins Adekola in Wema Bank (not my real name).

Maybe that got them to freeze my acct.. Tho! i have 7,000 in the account but I don't. saving again since my account was Freezed.

Though am yet to do what I was asked to do at Skye Bank... but planning to go later this week..

Please hope there is no problem with my account...

If you can help me, send me a mail we gonna chat on WhatsApp and I will tell you the FULL ordeal (how it all start)
.men u for just yan pidgin english no be by force

@OP,

Like many have said here, you may be in more serious trouble than a blocked bank account. This is a criminal matter and you don't yet know the magnitude of what you are involved in. I say this because my best friend is currently serving a long term imprisonment in Mariapa County Jail in America for allowing unknown "friends" pass US$5,600 through his bank account. It is dangerous...it is very dangerous!

As you may not know, this case may include murder, rape or even terrorism or whatever crime these criminals committed wherever they got the card from. Unfortunately, you are the only lead that the banks and law enforcement have right now and if the case goes cold from you onward, prosecution may pile all the crimes on you up to conviction and then move on, case closed.

Why did you allow yourself get warped in this matter? This style is used globally by these criminals and many innocent folks are in jail till date for crimes they didn't commit.

Get a good lawyer, if you can afford one. If you can't, maybe you might consider permanent relocation from Nigeria to some other affordable country. That is if EFCC, SFU or the regular police pursue you for this case. Cuz, as i see it, without expert representation from a good lawyer, Kirikiri is a likely end point! Be warned, please don't take this matter lightly!

Even though America is a crazy country with mad legislations, I do not believe your friend was sent to a long jail term because of 5600$. It seems he is no first time offender.

Firstly write the bank explaining the situation as is,though they might find it hard to believe as you don't even have the mans name or contact details.

Let them advice you further, but my advice to you is to get a lawyer to put you through on what to do because as it is your are presumed to be part of the network as you don't know how many account the man has used for these activities.

I doubt if the bank would allow you pay the amount to the account holder from where fund was transferred into you account, how much is the money.

To be candid with you ,that was a very silly mistake you made,Trust nobody when it comes to finances, don't give your account to people for any form of transactions.
From your comment I see you're very savvy in terms of financial institutions and transactions,i entrusted a friend to help me collect money from western union, the money is quite small;$15.After sending him the mtcn and all.he said the minimal amount to pick was $50.Do I terminate the transfer? quote me or drop a comment on my new topic thanks in advance.

Corper, your scenario is different from the OP's.

Firstly, you meet a queue in your bank and opted to transfer money to someone who comes to deposit money. So, you both have accounts in the same bank and the bank has your details and BVN information which can be sorted out internally if any anomaly ensued. (Still the person who gave you money is still naive and runs a risk. Bulk SMS can be sent to imitate genuine transfer)

In the OP's case, they both came to withdraw money at an ATM centre where they both might be from different Banking institutions.

OP's account was frozen for money laundry, so that must have involved a considerable amount of money.

It is down right naivete to have someone you don't kmow transfer heavy amount in your account and have you withdraw it over the ATM that has a camera and location.

It's borderline stupidity.

Young man. Technically, you are guilty of conspiracy. Whether you knew the money was a proceed of crime or not and/or money laundering. Steps to take to clear yourself.

Find out from your bank which Organisation froze your account.

Get a good lawyer and go to meet them before they trace and arrest you. (The lawyers presence is for your own safety and legal representation.

Explain yourself, write a statement and pray/fast that they catch the original culprit.

Get someone / some people who will take you on bail (No lawyer will ever take you on bail).

If you get bail, spend your free time scouting every ATM stand to see if you can catch the man (a leopard cannot change its spots).

If you do, create a scene and get him arrested while you contact the agency that froze your account.

That's the only way you can exonerate yourself. Forget CCTV. They never work

Talk to a lawyer.

Forget it, I'm sure it was a transaction that was paid for, even if just 5k cash.

if you have no hand in what you are being accused of ,why paying back the said amount you know nothing about to have things resolved ,listen my friend ,this is a country where no one is to be trusted ,best you can do is to talk to the bank you went to withdraw the money from to help bring footage from CCTV to see the face of the old man you helped with the withdrawal ,anything aside from that ,be careful of the words used in your emails to them ,words like you will pay back the money can put you in more trouble .....

In my opinion, I think the bank erred on this. Anybody culd fall victim of such though its a lesson for us all. The bank howeva shuld track down the person who initiated that transfer as there is surely an identity behind the account from which the transfer was made.

How many gullible Nigerians' acct will dey continue to freeze as I am sure the perpetrator will continue doing that with other gullible people.

In all, the bank abi na EFCC dont know their job for them to hunt after gullible ones while the criminal continue perpetuating his acts.

HABA BRO, IN 2017? I'M REAL SORRY TO HEAR YOUR STORY MAN. NO BANK WILL FREEZE YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT EFCC OR COURT ORDER,
FROM YOUR STORY YOU ALLOWED SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW TRANSFER MONEY TO YOUR ACCT FOR YOU TO WITHDRAW AND ITS BEEN STATED THAT THE TRANSACTION WAS FRAUDULENT OR MADE FROM A STOLEN CARD... YOU NEED A LAWYER FAST...A GOOD ONE TOO. AS IT IS A CASE HAS BEEN MADE AND ITS JUST REACHING YOUR SIDE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS EMERGENCY, WHEN BANKS NOW HAVE CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS ON THEIR ATMS.
