So, my babe whom I'm thinking of marrying in the next years has messaged me to request financial support. Here's it; She needs to go to nursing school and I heard she needs 140k for processing and 150k as the main fees. Roughly 300k. She's the only child of her parent, as such, I'd think her parent should be able to cater for her but now she's asked how much will I contribute to the 140k first as she has seen 70k at the moment. Mind you, she'd asked me some months back if I'll sponsor her fully for the nursing school and I said no that she's not my legal property for now, rather, her parent's. She got mad at me for that. For my mind, I really no wan get anything to do with her education as that might seem as a point of commitment for both parties. Meanwhile, she's been showing some signs that are me making question my intent in having her as my future partner, this coupled some spiritual revelations. After thought 1: - She's has shown all tendencies of leaving the relationship should another guy who's richer than me surfaces. - Her mum is prejudiced against Yorubas. (They are Igbos). - If I give her she'll be happy and jump up. If I don't, she she'll be mad at herself. - Whether I give her or I don't, she'll leave the relationship if she wants to leave. - I don't believe in buying love. Wow This is serious truly you are not suppose to sponsor a girl you are not married to or related to. I wanted to say give her, if you felt like it - with no outcome in mind. But after seeing the other thread, I'm certain I won't give her a dime, if I were in your shoes. It will surprise you that a lot of women will begin to secretly resent you, after you cross some of these "commitment milestones". If she's wielding any sort of threat, as a bludgeon, to make you do stuff - no matter how subtle - the more reason to not do it. In fact, what better way to test her resolve of becoming a nurse, and the finiancial viability of it all, than to sit back and watch if she can get the means together - through her parents and all. A really nice quote I can't recall verbatim says that if you help someone in need, when next they're in need they'll come to you, again! These are just the starting fees, so if you make this sort of commitment now, on a level, you've implicitly agreed to continue to do so until she finishes. 2 Likes |
