'is everything alright with him?' Dike asked as the others watched.

The doctor smiled 'the way he fainted was completely amusing. I was even thinking it was something serious. Just fatigue. And he isnt completely healthy now. He might need to go to India to undergo surgery, maybe India or any good hospital here with all the necessary facilities which i highly doubt will be easily seen. For now, he should avoid oily and fatty foods, strenous exercises or anything thats going to be a bother to him. He shouldnt be stressed, both physically, emotionally, mentally and of course,' He smirked now looking at the Lolo 'sexually too'

Dike shook hands with the doctor smiling from what he said 'thanks doctor, its a relief nothing happened to the Igwe. We have you to thank for it'

'please talk to your mum. You know what i mean' He lowered his head slowly 'your majesty' And then he walked away.

'you're just so lucky nothing happened to my husband, you bloody slut!' Wache fired.

Lolo stood up ferociously this time 'repeat another word you fool and we're going to have a complete showdown right now. You think i'll let you take advantage of me just because i'm emotional? Wache, i've heard enough! You better respect yourself or stand yourself a risk of having me beat you up here. I mean right now'

'mum, i'll be leaving now. My regards to dad' Dike said and turned, hands in his pocket to leave.

'Dike!' Ijeoma gasped 'whats wrong with you? Wont you even see father?'

'its late Ije. I'll come see him tomorrow. You should go back to your husband's house now' He was already walking away.

'Dike whats wrong with you?!' Ngozi yelled but he was already gone.

Wache laughed 'oh my God! And this...' She pointed in the direction in which he left 'is the so called crown prince of Umuzulu. I laugh. This is the future Igwe. Its obvious Umuzulu wont be in good hands when the Igwe finally dies in old age. If he cant even care for his father, how then is he expected to care for the people of Umuzulu? Eh?'

'you better watch your tongue Wache' Ijeoma warned as tears burned at the back of her eyes. Dike was neglecting his duties and it was beginning to be a source of mockery to them. She had to talk sense into him.

'mum, lets just go to dad's ward. Leave this loser to herself' She led her mum away and Wache laughed loudly following closely behind them.

'where did you go at this time of the night?' Shiv asked immediately he entered 'i heard your door open and close and i decided to check if you were going out or someone was going in, then...'

He smirked 'why were you so concerned to know if i was going out or someone was going in?'

'nothing' She tried to shrug 'just curiousity... And maybe boredom'

'okay' He settled on a couch 'why arent you even sleeping anyway?'

'i was waiting for you. You drove out of the compound at an ungodly hour and you're just coming back. Dont tell me you went to patronise commercial sex workers when all you need to do is snap your finger and have the likes of Dora flocking around you'

'its you i want. Not Dora'

'like i said before Dike. I dont do sex. I make love. I make love with someone who i'm sure really cares about me. I dont do random sex' She backed him with her hands akimbo.

'and what makes you think i dont care about you Shivani?'

'well, isnt it obvious. You aint even serious with me'

He stood up and walked to her, he hugged her from behind 'what you need to understand is the fact that nothing went down between Dora and i. What i told you is nothing but the truth Shivani. You have to believe me'

'that you were just coming out of the bathroom and you found her on your bed fully clothed, and then i knocked and you realised the door was locked. You walked to the door, turned it open in a matter of seconds and when you turned again, she was completely naked and laying on your bed, how silly does that sound Dike?'

'it actually sounds silly but thats nothing but the actual truth'

'stop lying to me Dike because i dont fancy it. I hate lies in a relationship. You made it look like you really wanted me and then, you made out with Dora and lying about it? The fact that you were with Dora isnt a problem with me, she's your wife just the way i am your wife, but i hate lies, just tell me you slept with her and we're okay!'

'you hate lies but you want me to lie to you so we are okay?' Dike smirked 'very funny' He breathed behind her ears.

'mock me all you want' She left him and sat down.

He squatted in front of her 'i'm not lying Shiv, but fine, if lying to you will remedy the situation, then no problem. I slept with her'
