I pray you dont die a mysterious death!
A warriors life is not a cowards end. Most warriors sacrifice their life for the good of their people. They are not afraid to die. That is what this title is for. It's like the most dangerous type of suicide bomber out there. This title is not a small title that can be given to just anybody. You have to accept that you will be ready to die for what you believe in. It's not a title to form big boy with.

Why? You don't have a root? What is your problem with people's culture or are you afraid?

As we are approaching 2019 and the renewed clamour for restructuring by the South West, installing the Are Ona Kankafo of Yoruba land is pregnant with meaning.

It is more about 2019 than restructuring. The forces are gathering for battle.

tell that to the elders of yoruba land. The title came into being when the oyo empire, stretched for and wide into Togo, Benin republic and even Ghana. Ask your elders if you are yoruba. The title is Aare ona kakaanfo of yoruba land

MKO was a cilivian, a potician, philanthropist, he was many things and a great man. He wasn't known to be a warrior, yet given the huge title he fought on and refused to relinquish his mandate in Nigeria's fairest election till date in exchange for freedom and it cost him his life. Even without being a warrior he persevered and in the end he didn't betray the sacred order that the bearer must never surrender even on the pain of death. Think on that

My only concern is that people who occupy this position never die at old age based on history...It is a very tough position in the Yoruba kingdom meant only for warriors.

They are well fortified with metaphysical protection against dying cheaply. That was why people still believe that MKO bought his own because he was rich. ordinarily, drinking of poisoned tea shouldn't have taken his life...Due to the enormous spiritual power kakanfos posses, at the point of him lifting the cup to drinking, it would have broken.

Anyways, Congrats to Gani Adams.
MKO was not poisoned, they beat him to death according to Al mustsfa

MKO's ultimate sacrifice was one of the reason OBJ was made the president of Nigeria in 1999 by the kingmakers. This was done to pacify the Yorubas who believed, and rightly so, that MKO was denied his mandate and killed for standing for his rights.

Same cannot be said for some others, who are known to always abandon the "good cause" and fled into exile in stead, after they would sacrificed the lives of some gullible followers.

In fact, credible sources had it that, MKO was offered freedom from detention if he denounced his electoral mandate, but he refused.

Again this cannot be said of a man, who has just a wife and a son and "not much" at stake like MKO, who had many wives and children and huge financial capacity, BUT YET, REFUSED TO COMPROMISE HIS INTEGRITY. The latter day warrior and demi-god was all mouth and no action when it mattered the most. Not only did he accepted a disgraceful bail conditions; he lied about his health to get the bail and thereafter abandon his co-accused.

It is not worthy mentioning the name of the chief idiotic pig of Biafra in the same statements with the hero of June 12, Bashorun MKO Abiola.

No wonder why, instead of sacrifice and political perseverance, employing diplomacy and patience, the idiotic pigs of Biafra wants out of Nigeria for not getting the presidency on a platter of gold, like the Yorubas did in 1999.

Whether we like it or not, MKO deserves a great deal of credit for his sacrifice and at some point in the future, he would get a NATIONAL HOLIDAY IN HIS NAME.

As far as the Alafin is concerned Oyo is Yoruba and Yoruba. The term Yoruba has both cultural and political meaning.
