Pls guys I have a question, I studied French education and I'd like to know which course I stand a better chance at : Masters in healthcare administration (MHA) or Masters in business administration (MBA) considering the fact that I'm an art student. Is it possible I get admitted with no prerequisite course. Shld I go ahead and start applying. And even if I'm to take any prerequisite course will it affect my chances at the embassy. I prefer to study MHA tho.
Thanks .

you need to forget about chances at the embassy and think more about what you want to become or be in the future and that should guide you . embassy visit is one day , your career choices can last a lifetime

I think you should listen to that guy. TOEFL isn't up to that amount. B.Y MAFIT and myexamplanet.com charges 50k. I did mine for 45k at B.Y MAFIT cos they had a promo going on which was last month.
Use brabit it's 40k

$31,478...That is the course I want to study, I don't think I can change it.

Regards.

Comparing online course with class setting... depending on individual, you can get carried away with online courses and learn nothing at the end. Though online promises student pace study but what good is the pace when you can't focus?

This school fee for just NS is a serious whip.

Hi, a quick one.
Studies has been hectic, I wonder when people say education in Nigeria is harder than in US.

Sorry. RL demands a lot. I always do that anytime I'm able to read from where last I stopped.

If that's the case you should have corrected her with number (1) above when she asked you. The fact that she thought your program is online was your greatest undoing at the embassy.

I think the VO was only making a reference that such course can be done online.

MY ADVICE TO YOU IF YOU ARE VISITING MURTALA MUHAMMED AIRPORT ANYTINE SOON.

If you have not been to Murtala muhammed airport this week you need to be prepared to face alot of hardship. The multi-storey car park has just been opened for use and I think the authority want to encourage people to use it. The pickup point under the bridges has been barricaded with barb-wire. Arriving passengers are expected to push their trolley and luggage to the new car park, enter the car and drive off.

Departing passengers are still allowed drop off at the departure but the traffic on the road may delay you if you don't leave home on time.

Because of one entry to the car park there is traffic on airport road so leave your house early if you don't want to miss your flight or keep your passenger waiting.

If you are coming with commercial car the commercial car park has been relocated. The new Commercial car park is a little far so be prepared to trek longer distance or wait for the shuttle bus (Only one is working presently).

The message is not to scare you but to prepare you.

This comes at the right time. Thanks

Hello wonderful nairalanders,
Please I need your candid advice on this. Does moving with my wife and daughter as a student to USA reduce my chances of getting a visa?
I need your advice so I can take decision in time.
Thank you.

Studying in U.S requires full attention. I'm sure you can't combine the stress of keeping up with your family with the rigorous studies in a new environment in your first semester. Go and start your first semester first, then you can start thinking of bringing your family over.

The faculty doesn't seem to be in a hurry with me to understand but I got to make a good impression at least so it would be easier for some Nigerians in the future to get a position with him.

Please how do I go about this? I need suggestions, anyone, everyone
Congratulations on the new position.
Apart from meeting your Professor for guidance, it'll be helpful if your reach out to fellows working on similar research in other schools. LinkedIn is a great way to do this.
You can also reach out to folks whose publication you find too recondite to grasp. At least you'll find one with enough patience to show you the ropes.

I assumed it was due to the fact that I have Presbycusis – Loss of hearing that gradually occurs because of changes in the inner or middle ear in individuals, this made ma ask the VO to repeat them selves often before I could hear them well,(a situation I guess they are not pleased with)

For a better answer, you should direct your question to the NIV (embassy officials) that visit this forum regularly. Though I don't know if U.S embassy, Nigeria treats people with disability with equal opportunity as normal people like they do everywhere in U.S. If they give equal opportunity, there should be a place to answer if you have disability (not sure) on your DS160. Then make sure you've your hearing aid working properly and systematically turn the impaired ear to the direction of the sound at your interview.

@orimahspence,

Disregard the NIV part of my previous post. See that the NIV already answered you after I got to the post.

Best of luck

Hello fam,

My name is Henry. I wish to to continue my studies in the US as a graduate student. I have been trying so hard to look for a school but it has been difficult for me and frustrating. I want to study Geographical Information System. My parents want me to study in Texas specifically because I have a family there but finding a school that offer GIS at graduate level has been difficult.

Also, I don't even know where to start from. The step by step process. Maybe to collect international passport first or do the English Proficiency test first.....I am just confused. Please help me out.

Thank you fam

First things first, Go get your International passport without it you can't write most standardized exams. eg. IELTS, TOEFL etc.

After that research about the schools you can apply to Use: Google, usnews, gradcafe etc. Ensure you send a mail to them about the availability of funding. (If you are rich ignore this)

Write your GRE and TOEFL, Complete your online application to your preferred schools, Send your test scores to them. Wait for admission then apply for Visa.

I hope this helps

Hello orimahspence -

This advice applies to anyone who has difficulty hearing. We want to adjudicate visa applications based on the applicant's qualifications for the visa, we don't want someone who is otherwise qualified to miss out on the opportunity to travel to the US because they can't hear the questions. If you have difficulty hearing, please mention that to us at the start of the interview. We have a few options, from as simple as turning up the volume on our microphone to going into a privacy booth with a door that shuts to keep out the noise of other interviews, and we will be happy to make reasonable accommodations to enable you to communicate effectively with us.

Regards,

LagosNIV

Nice
Are there such similar provisions for people with speech deficiencies like stuttering to adequately present their responses?

Yes, same procedure. Write SAT/ACT and TOEFL. Send an email to the program coordinator or International office of your preferred school ask about scholarship/funding opportunities for undergraduates.

Ace your exams and Apply to your preferred schools. Get admission, apply for visa /port to America.

Check out North Carolina A and T University (my friend is studying the same course with funding) and University of Texas El Paso (their college of science seems to have lots of funding to give).
