I don't understand your problem. Natural resources is a different kettle of fish due to its potential for quick cash generation.
Nigeria engages in a sharing formula with the extracting companies in our oil sector. What have we done with our share aside from massive embezzling?
The extracting companies can be taxed heavily. That is no real problem, because they are making a lot of money almost immediately.
And we have so many natural resources we can exploit to make life easier for the ordinary citizens and smaller businesses.

You're telling me in one breath about quick cash then in next breath about kleptomaniac tendencies of politicians. What does it matter who much is generated if they will steal it in your mind? I'm not against what your advocating but at sane time it all boils down to collecting taxes.

I've been seeing your posts concerning Anambra State Election and they reek of lies, hypocrisy, propaganda and bitterness. Your worse than APC agents and trust me Anambrarians will never fall for cheap propaganda being spread by Peter Obi. We vote based on whats on ground and not your promises of heaven on earth.

Stop being bitter and commend what needs to be commended.

IGR from 500 to 1500 million
And the Security vote is rumoured to have increased from 500 to about 1500 million. For the improvement in the IGR to have meaning, that fat security vote must go below 500 million.

The only difference between Lagos and Port Novo is one naijeria.
It has no extractive sector. It leverages on the competitive advantage that Nigeria offers as a population density market and and oil giant.
The day one naijeria stops, your Lagos shrinks to its real equilibrium position, and others especially states with the real extractive industry can move forward.

Thanks for the subtle compliments which am aware of already, but please tone down the expression bc instead of lobbying voters with that it Chases them away. Let's put it this way you're a liability to his campaign.

Do your campaigning for him the way you know and I do mine my way, not because I dislike IPOB means I'm doing him a disservice.

If you don't want to vote for him, please choose other candidates you prefer but NEVER tell me how to go about my way all because I dislike IPOB miscreants.

Those who dislike Obiano had already disliked him even before the campaigning all because radio Biafra and Nnamdi kanu told them so

I guess they will release IGR stats for 2017 since they missed party last year. I don't get the whole base statement.

This press release is reaction to pressure over their abysmal performance in the IGR report for 2016 and 2017. There is nothing on the ground to renew production capacity and earn the 200% increase he falsified.

He said this...

Mr Michael Okonkwo, the Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, says the monthly internally generated revenue of the state has increased from N500 million to N1.5 billion.

Prompted to provide the source for the upsurge in revenue he then claimed this...

According to him, the production of a base map for the capital territory assisted to raise revenue for the state and led to the completion of an aerial photography of the state.

By producing a map which was used to complete aerial photography of Awka Capital Territory, Anambra went from 500million a year IGR to 1.5billion a year.

Ive never seen a truer bullshyyte in life! grin

But guess what? Villagers will soon fill social media and congratulate Obiano.

Anambra can boost it igr by going into an mou with the businesses in anambra to have a say on how the taxes they pay is used. Alpha beta should help osun , Oyo and other APC states that can not even pay workers salary

1. Why didn't Obiano release his IGR to NBS just like the rest of Nigeria, why now because of the election?

2. The rubbish link you posted about debt doesn't have anything to do with IGR so stop posting dumb and irrelevant rubbish.

3. Anambra is indebted like many states in Nigeria just like Ogun state, but Ogun still delivered more projects than all your SE villages combined debt or no debt.

4. 4 out of all your SE villages collected salary bailout from the FG just like Ogun.

5. Ogun collected more IGR than all your unproductive villages combined.

According to him, the production of a base map for the capital territory assisted to raise revenue for the state and led to the completion of an aerial photography of the state.

If you want to increase your IGR overnight, just draw overhead base or whatever rubbish map and watch your IGR shoot from 500 to 1.5 billion.

Bail out funds is part of Federal largesse, it's no different than the monthly allocation handouts to States. Thats also a bail out for States to meet financial obligations.

So what is big deal about bail out fund? Nothing! Federal government handout, simple!

You ought to question why SE is missing in the list of zones that collect bail out.

While we are talking about bail out and IGR....lets visit interest free loans from Islam banks. It is not hidden even by your Governors that they are the top clients to approach Jaiz Bank for rescue loans. So swerve left with this bail out fund and address the more respectable index for gauging State capacity for independence and self-reliance....IGR!
