The females? It's all about kissing and telling. Gossiping about guys who send them private messages, the ones who are hitting on them, the stubborn ones whose money they'd extort since he doesn't want to leave them alone. And even shaming other Nairaland females.

I'm a fan of online dating. I've admitted to it on more than three occasions on the pages of Nairaland. Facebook dating to be precise. It has worked for me and is still working for me. At least you can both see each other's pictures, check each other's timeline, comments and replies to others to gauge to a large extent the personality of the other. Of course, the private conversations would reveal more, then you both agree to meet.
If it doesn't work out for long, each goes their separate way without scandals. You wouldn't want to start a scandal that'd consume you both 'cause Facebook doesn't offer you any anonymity like Nairaland does.

What's worse? Most of the Nairaland females acting up and denigrating the menfolk here aren't even worth half the weight of the weavons on their heads. Not in looks or character or financial independence.

Some of you have two or three thousand 'friends' on Facebook. Of this number, there should be at least two hundred who are 'dateable'. Why not make your play for them? If you're really as valuable as you lots always project on Nairaland; if you're really as good-looking, cultured and intelligent, why haven't you made a play for these people and why haven't they found you worthy of dating?


Until you folks learn Nairaland doesn't provide the requisites to foster the connection and considerable trust for dating, you'd keep getting yourselves hurt in the process.

Well, I think people are known to be deceptive on Nairaland as some carry malicious intent. You have to keep your guard up and follow safe rules before getting entangled with the opposite sex because some are childish, trolls and untrustworthy, so too much trusting is not advisable.

Despite the level of blackmail, shaming and other evil perpetuated here, Nairaland is still a great place to meet good people and it is quite possible to create meaningful relationships here and gain a sense of
who they are in person, just that you have to be safe, cautious and keep it on a low key otherwise it can be potentially dangerous as well.

There are so many assholes here and it's not a gender specific thing here. There are people you need to try as much as possible to keep distance away from.

As for the ladies

Avoid accepting inappropriate or unsolicited friend requests from guys here because guys online can easily pretend to be people they aren't. Sadly, there are thousands of sketchy people here posing to be nice unassuming people looking for friendships or relationships. Some of them only will want you to open up, divulge secrets about your personal life and guess what? They will be used against you when a quarrel ensues.

We have recorded cases when intimate pictures were leaked just to shame the other person, so ladies need to very careful and mindful of the type of guys will either want to date or he friends with.

As for the guys

Avoid getting close or divulging private informing to most of these girls who form cliques here as it can pose a great danger. Please know that these ladies have nothing spectacular going in their lives, so all they do is open a whatsapp group where they table discuss people's matters. When they have your personal information, it becomes a group discussion in the absence of nothing to discuss.
