Me:good morning ma(no reply)
Vo:why this school
Me:I chose this school cos the school offers courses that are in line with my future goal,it av outstanding faculty reputation and great professors in my field
Vo:what are ur plans after graduation?
Me:my plan is to secure a job in the university of lagos where I wud work as a lecturer of English language
Vo: would u lecture just English or literature or both
Me:I became confused at that point because I didn't prepare for that question ,I didn't even knw wat to tell her so I just told her I would lecture English and a bit of literature
Vo: m sorry u are not qualified (so she gave me d blue paper)

You can't prepare for all exact questions in AN Interview. You need to know the in and out of what you are going for not just cramming answers. You should be able to come up with apt answers no matter what is asked because you understand the scope of what you applying for.

I have been a silent follower here..My visa was approved at the Lagos consulate this morning 6:30am by a lady in window. 7

V.o: is there no place you can study greenhouse in Nigeria rather than going to the USA.
Me: there are places I can here but the method that are being used here can’t be compared to the state. For example in the USA translucid glasses are used to build the green house but here transparent polythene are used and I need to learn the modern design so that I can implement it here..

I like to see intelligence.

Congratulations

Congrats brother.

As far as am concerned, I don't believe in all these red flag school stuff. If you do your homework well and really understand why you are going to the USA. Then no issue about Red flag or no red flag.

NB: USA needs us more than we do.

It's either sarcasm or irony or you just don't know what you're saying.

There are some schools that no amount of preparation can help the matter,

although if someone is a serious student who did proper research then that school should never been applied to in the first place

Good evening/morning everyone.

Please, I'll just go to the point.

I on the verge of applying to UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND. I had some concerns which I've clarified through correspondence with the department.

However, I want to do a masters degree in applied economics. I noticed now it's stated as "MPS in APPLIED ECONOMICS. Instead of the normal MSc/Ma that were used to.

So my question is, please is MPS (Masters of Professional Studies) in Economics same as, say MSc in economics?

Thing is, nah that MPS Dey confuse me. I just want to know so I don't go fool myself after paying admission fee and looking like a zombie at the embassy.

Please daddys and mummys, help me. I don't mind any form of explanation. Even if yabbing follow join. (Bros Femi) cry cry cry

Lol! Wake up bro. You are only given a privilege to study in the best and biggest country in the world. US has been existing before you and would still be after you! They don't need us, they giving us the privilege to be better when you can prove yourself as a genuine student!

The MPS is the same as MSC in Economics just that it is non-thesis based and is created specially for professionals who are only interested in pursuing a master's degree in Economics to boost their job chances, chances of promotion etc. The MPS you see is just a title. So if you just need a master's degree to better your chances in the US job market, then the MPH program is the best for you. However, if you have plans for a PhD afterwards or sometime in the future, then go for the traditional thesis-based MSc in Economics program.

Congrats. Your answers were excellent and of course you were moving from ND to HND. That's a good reason to attend a community college. That makes it a solid reason you were approved also.

Another reason was you made the VO realize that you weren't gonna stay in the US for long. That you don't care and weren't desperate at all. grin cheesy

Third, farming is a good business in the West.

Fourth, you don't want a university degree but associate degree which is obviously true.

Congrats. Your responses were great! Very, very nice.

Morning house, please advice is needed on this, my undergraduate course is Telecoms and info Tech, I'm currently working in my dad's Agricultural firm as a farm manager, and I'll be going for my MBA with a concentration in Management information systems in one of the US schools, I hope the cross carpet won't be an issue during interview? I mean working in a filed that doesn't relate with my undergraduate course of study.

Hello House, I applied for a professional master's degree at University of Maryland, recently I was asked to send my transcript directly from my school. I thought a scanned copy was enough to process my application. Right now I don't want to waste money knowing admission is not guaranteed. Please bigfrancia help out.

Hello house. Please when I was asked to submit a bank statement by university, I submitted that of one of my uncle and now due to some reasons I'll be taking the bank statement a bank statement of another uncle of mine to the embassy.1) I want to know if the school specifies the exact name of sponsors on the i-20.2) Can I be denied as a result of this.3) If yes, please what do you think is the solution.

Hi guys, my f1 visa interview was yesterday at 6:30am and it was approved miraculously. I was interviewed by a fresh looking friendly dude and was first on his counter. Me walking towards his counter with so much confidence but very scared inside of me.

ME: Good Morning (with a soft smile) and stretching my passport towards the space unconsciously without waiting for him to ask.
VO: Good Morning (looking so serious), receives my passport and asks for my i-20.
ME: How are you today (soft smile trying to gather some confidence) and passing on the i-20 to him.
VO: I'm fine. Thank you (me feeling more relaxed by his response)
VO: Why MBA? (typing and typing and looking at my i-20)
ME: I believe with my current level of technicality, an MBA will bridge the gap between mere technicality and leadership and the core business thereby making me a complete and competent manager. (shocked at him asking this as a first question)
VO: Whats your work? (still typing and looking at my i-20)
ME: I'm a network engineer (a bit relaxed)
VO: Explain your work (now take a break from typing and looking straight at me)
ME: My major job role is general network administration, I also attend to customer issues remotely and on-site (me quoting all i filled in my work experience page on ds-160 and a bit relax and keeping 100% eye contact)
VO: What do you as network administration? (still looking at me)
ME: I configure routers, radios etc...(me shocked in my mind at the question)
VO: Explain a star network (typing and typing)
ME: A star network is such that there is a central hub/station bla..bla...bla...(Me sooooo shocked to be asked such a question and getting more tensed)
VO: Did you apply to other schools?
ME: Yes I applied to 2 other schools, uni of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh and uni of Bridgeport in Connecticut. (a bit relaxed again)
VO: How many admissions did you get? (typing and looking at me)
ME: I got just one admission from Lincoln University which has always been my first choice, the other 2 are yet to be decided and communicated across to me. (me gathering more confidence)
VO: Did you write a standardized test?
ME: Yes i took test of English as a foreign language (me feeling cool and confident again)
VO: What was your score?
ME: I scored an 89 (feeling so cool)
VO: What was your *fast fast talk*
ME: Sorry, can you repeat yourself? (now feeling a bit tensed)
VO: What was your score breakdown?
ME: I honestly can not remember the exact breakdown but i can only remember i had my least score in speaking which was 20. (now i felt very foolish at my answer feeling like i have failed, at this point, on the background, i could hear other VOs rejection speech, i was soooo tensed)
VO: How do you intend to pay your fees?
ME: My father {full name} is sponsoring me.
VO: What does your father do?
ME: He is the CEO of {company name}
VO: What does his company do?
ME: His company in into bla...bla..blaa (a bit confident again)
VO: What will you do when you finish your studies?
ME: I will come back to Nigeria and resume back at my current place of work (with so much confidence)
VO: What do you mean...by resuming back?
ME: I am on a study leave (confidently)
VO: Oh.....back to your current job role?
ME: No, I must have been qualified for a top job role after completion of my study in Lincoln University.
VO: What top job role will you take up at work place? (looking seriously at me)
ME: Well..i do not know. That will be left for the management to decide but I am pretty sure it will be a managerial role (a bit tensed again hearing another rejection speech on the background)
VO: What position do you wish to take up?
ME: IT manager (i had to think this out in milliseconds, feeling so uncomfortable why the questions keep coming but never lost focus of the eye contact)
VO: typing and typing and typing for maybe 30 seconds, places his hand on my passport and keeps somewhere next to him.
ME: at this point all on my mind was *white paper, white paper, whiter paper, white paper........still keeping the eye contact
VO: suddenly pulls out the white paper, checks his computer for something, circles a part of the white paper and finally makes the speech.....your visa...bla...bla...bla, you will receive a text or email when your passport is ready, pick it up from the location I have circled for you on the paper, make sure you also go with your i-20 when going for your passport.
ME: Thank you (still in shock but keeping the eye contact), receives the paper and look at it briefly feeling sooooo cool.
ME: Have a great day! (thumbs up) and walks out!
