With Western Union quick pay, it takes max of 10mins and a charge of $10 but if you use bank draft, it takes days with no charge.

Morning/evening bro, erm, please I need to make an enquiry, can I pm you?

I understand you're very busy, but I can wait

Good day house please I need advice is it wrong for my sponsor to be in the same city or state I will be schooling in the US, will this in any way pose a hindrance to me getting a visa. I have gone so far in the schooling process,.
Pls I will like as many answers I can get,
@imperiouxx, @femi,@lagosismyhome, @EZIEGBO1OFIMO as well as all nairalandersnairalanders. Thanks

Nobody can predict .... if your sponsor is in the same state it not so much a problem if you can demostrate that you are a credible student.. so been very articulate about your plans and how it will help Nigeria helps and choosing relatively ok school

At the end it boils down to the VO been convinced that you are a genuine student

confirm... But what of someone who studied marketing in university and going for masters in Business Administration what would his/her response be?
Honestly, a degree in business is something anyone can convince anyone that they are interested in. In my MBA program for instance, two-third of my class had engr undergrad (including me), then we have insurance, animal science, computer science , psychology and guess what, only one business admin undergrad. Business degrees help you move on from being just a technical person to being a manager of technical people.

Brother, I need ur advice. I have pm you no reply yet from you. I got a pre-masters admission in florida Atlantic university.
What do you think about the school and the program as regards to getting visa approval.
most addendum degrees like the pre masters were designed by universities to cater to rich immigrant students from Asia and the middle east since they find it hard to get into the normal programs and are seen as cash cows by university presidents. and so, unless you fit into that financial bracket , it would be hard convincing a VO that you want to spend trump sized $$ on a pre-masters programme. it won't be impossible to get an F-1 in your case, but you need a super convincing back story.

Gone are the days when we normally used to read and read nairaland 247.... Students and applicant should always have eyes to eyes contact with VO. dont be panic in delivering your point. be articulate. know everything about the school very well. let them know about the benefit our country Nigeria gonna benefit from you studying that course...dont be too serious and dont make it do or die affair while with them.

Structure all your point and stop talking about making research online bla bla bla...those are old stories...talk about you buying school catalogue online or you requested for it which you make extensive research bla bla bla....

Nice. Please check your PM.

Good morning house. Please I applied to CSU and have gotten admitted and received my I-20. I want to book an appointment but my passport will be expiring June, 2018 which means it has about 8months validity on it. Do I need to renew it before I book an appointment or can it be used that way? Thanks
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 12 by paulavon: 4:42pm On Nov 10, 2017
Discouraging people from applying to community colleges is very wrong. Not everyone is interested in going for their masters, people have their different reasons for going to study in the US. Someone with WAEC should be encouraged to go for an associate degree and graduate in 2 yeas, there are lots of job opportunities for associate degree holders.
DeeTus:
Encouraging people to apply for visa with CC is totally deceptive and woeful. Would you also be willing to pay visa fee for them at the bank?

SHM for you!!! undecided

it is advisable to have at least 6 months left before your interview, so I think you're in the clear sir.

This reply freaked me out. I share almost the same age and circumstance with the guy in question. I am 33yrs, married and have a daughter. My DAD is also sponsoring me. IS THIS A REG FLAG SITUATION??
Please reply

I won't worry about this. Paying tuition here is not a small boy thing. Even those that are married and working in U.S would take student loans and won't mind if there is a family that would help instead of taking loans. How much more you living in Nigeria. Since you're an int'l student and has to prove your ability to pay your tuition, you're better off sponsored by your family even if you've grey hairs.

We can just prepare for any question asked by the Vo but at the same time we should also consider some answer that might keep the VO wondering .. for example you are above 30, working and your father is still the one sponsoring you might keep them wondering.. how is your traveling going to be beneficial to your sponsor.. only if you are working in your father company ..instead of that why not tell them your father is paying for your schooling and you paying for hostel and feeding.. because even in the USA every student has right to student loan and the student pay back the loan when they are working.. so most parent don’t sponsor their child at college or university level... I might not be absolute right about dis just saying my view

You think if we have parents that can pay those thousands of dollars in tuition, we will ever consider student loans? This tells you studying at tertiary level is not cheap in America, so students or their parents consider taking student loans.

Your visa can be on an expired passport. Once you renew your passport, always carry both old and new passports. You can renew your passport six months to expiration. Go with your current passpport for your visa interview and if granted make a move to renew it in Nigeria before travelling. Cheers!

There is nothing wrong if someone above 30 is sponsored by his parents.People are quick to believe on certain myths. [s]That was how they claimed community colleges are red flags, but in reality Nigerians still fill up those schools.[/s]

This is totally inaccurate. What is your prove that "in reality Nigerians still fill up those schools"? Hardly you will see a school in U.S without Nigerians and some of them got to U.S before switching to CC. What is constantly emphasized here is the low % of applicants that get the visa with CC straight from Nigeria.

Hi,
I will be going for an interview next month, my employer is sponsoring my graduate education. Can I go with a sponsorship letter from the employer or the company's statement of account?
Thanks.

From my many years experience being on this thread, your employer sponsoring you may put you on a very hot seat. You need to be well prepared. Yes, go with every docs of sponsorship. Best of luck.

Actually having sponsor in U.S has a downside too. What's your tie to Nigeria? I will worry about this question but not the state your sponsor resides.
