i share this thought, i feel the same. Yet, i think it is the foundational stage of learning - more of grassroots connection, that explains this attachment. The latter is more recent, but the former more fundamental and nostalgic.

Your inference that he went to a free school but is now charging the earth for his own is neither here nor there. If it was that easy to continue with the free and qualititative education government would have being the champion of it not private individuals but you see, ther are competing and ever growing demands for the available resources and it would be unwise for the government not to ask the parents to subsidize the cost of education for their wards so funds can be available for other areas of needs.

Any service, however expensive can be offered for free provided there is a means of sustaining, upgrading and expanding the means of offering such services as at when due.

Oyedepo led Winners , since the establishment of Covenant University and LandMark has been funneling money into the institutions in a way no government has never done for any of her institutions. Today, 5 billion naira tomorrow 2 billion naira because they want to train Nigerians who can land and run. Whatever students pay is just to subsidize the actual operating cost of the school as the capital cost is still largely shouldered by the Winners Family.
