Thank God we have foreign goalkeepers trainer not all these mediocre.

Ezenwa number 1 keeper for WC,a huge joke, after watching Algeria and Argentina match, Ezenwa and Akpeyi no go area for me.

I no kuku take the guy seriously.

What Uzoho needs, is to learn Spanish quickly, so he can communicate with his club mates.

We saw how he was barking out orders today, he couldn't at his club because of the language barrier.

Once this is done, he'd get more games, and fewer people would be in doubt of his abilities.

Baba if enyeama is fit and in form,if he will not spoil the spirit in camp, we should have him and uzoho and then one out of either ezenwa, alampasu, ajiboye.thank God for friendlies. Akpeyi is gone!
My guy I know you know football and this is the time to tell ourselves the truth.

The rising of Enyeama was like a magic he came in and stole the show just one cap to WC meaning he was giving the opportunity at the right time.

My university coach was the goalkeeper trainer for Eagles when Enyeama was discovered. My varsity coach said he took him just 20 mins to tell Onigbinde that this guy is WC bound.

He said as at that time Enyeama was better than Shorunmu but they are not ready to take the risk but the risk was taken when Shorunmu fumbled against Sweden. My varsity coach went to Onigbinde that Enyeama must be in goal against England.

Let me give you brief history of Nigeria goalkeepers, prior to 1980 nations cup, Emmanuel Okala was the first choice but when Father Tiko came and saw that Okala has passed his prime,he took a decision and threw in Best Ogedegbe as number 1.a very good decision.

At afcon 84 we have experience Patrick Okala the younger brother of Emma but Onigbinde stick with young Peter Rufai though Rufai missed the Afcon final due to injury and we dearly paid for it cos Patrick was in goal.

Let me jump it and this one w be so confusing cos a lot w not agreed with me but it's a fact.Peter Rufai at US 94 has passed his prime but find his way into the team due to fans pressure at the expense of in form Deportivo LA coruna Wilfred Agbonavbare who kept most of Nigeria qualifications matches in a spectacular way, this guy was dropped to the bench for Dodo Mayana. At Afcon 94 anybody that watched semi final and final can testify,Rufai was exposed but Westerhoff still stick with Rufai.

So sometime we don't need experience keeper to do it but the best to be in goal.

Am one of the apostle of calling Enyeama back but watching Uzoho against Girona changed my mind,he has what it takes to be number 1,the height is there, reflex, confidence what else again, see him against Argentina tells a lot, if experience cannot carry Ezenwa and Akpeyi then to hell with experience.

Enyeama is out for 6months and that should tell you a lot, some keeper w come back better but some we struggle to form,so what are the assurance that we w see better Enyeama.

Apart from football reason, you made a valid point,w the recalling of Enyeama not destroy the high and lovable spirit in camp.

Fabulous! Great team spirit. Good to see our new players on the field. Francis Uzoho did superbly well, earlier warned against using Akpeyi though. angry

Mikel was a great and formidable leader on the pitch today, big ups to him. cheesy The duos of Ebuehi and Bryan Idowu performed excellently well. shocked grin Musa didn't disappoint either.

Nacho and Iwobi are great ballers, nacho needs some improvements though. Good work by the SE Technical Crew. We shouldn't relent. I hope we accept the invitation to play England, it would be another great test for us.

Overall, nice game, outstanding team confidence, and great passion for success. I wish our team the very best.

The Land is Green. cheesy
i coudnt have summarized it any better, u have said it all, pally our boys dey ball. they gave the argies too much of respect in the 1st half, and i remember telling my friend that these argentines are very beatable na, all we need is stop respecting them and come out to play and just as if gernot rohr heard me in the 2nd half he did the needed changes, changed the formation a bit and the result is there for us to see. excellent game. iwobi and mikel, not forgetting ebuehi, uzoho, idowu, nacho dey ball, in fact all of them try. the land is truly green my brother grin grin grin

Alot of people in the UK are making comments about our game vs Argentina yestarday.
See on of them:
"Exciting young Nigerian team which has
continue to improve. This team will do great at the world cup, they played without Victor Moses and Orion Ighalo that are vital to them yet convincingly defeated an Argentine team that is only without Messi. The Nigerian goalkeeper in the 1st half was a joke though. It is better to play in this team than in the English team where mediocrity is being celebrated and psychological fragility is down to their core. Imagine all the hype around drawing Germany and Brazil at home."

Aina can be tried for another position but not left back pls, he was not convincing against Algeria either so elderson is still ahead of him, let's admit that pls. If he can contend for the right back which I doubt, no problem but for left back abeg just like we don't want akpeyi near the goal post, I don't want aina near the left back too. Sometimes we over hype these players and they fall hand. We had no business goin down 2-nil but for aina 's sloppiness
Since he was subbed, the Argentines were forced to look elswere because of Idowu's performance.

Pls go and watch the match again and be critical in your view and you w understand who to blame for the second goal

I remember the first goal was caused by Akpeyi and the second goal look confusing on who to blame but a good expert w blame Balogun, his pace failed him and in official rating Balogun was blamed for second goal

Aina so far in Eagles is not worst as you want us to believe cos you keep on hammering him and funny enough you put him in the same league on performance with Akpeyi.

Haba against Zambia good comeo appearance, against Algeria a little bit average, against Argentina not too good for him just like other players in the 1st half, hope you have read Mikel"s statement.

If I want to base it on first half performance, players like Iwobi,Ogu,Awaziem should not have started second half, pls go and watch the match again and be objective.

Truly Aina performance was not satisfactory but comparing the poor boy with Akpeyi performance get as ebi,not that worst.

God bless you,too much respect gave Argentines an edge in the first half until Rohr talk to the boys before 2nd half.

In the first half no Nigeria players was at his best,no cohesion.

Good experience for the boys we are getting there with new players like Bryan Idowu,Uzoho,Ebuhei.

Chief calm down. The main culprit in our defence and reason for the consistent attack on our left flank in the first half was Balogun. They discovered he was very slow and cannot really pass accurately making him more prone to lose the ball easily, so they kept hammering his side, which by the way was where Aina operated from. Not saying Aina was exceptional today, I will give him a 4, but he isn't as bad as you are making him to be. He just did not have an exceptional game today, actually except for Mikel, Ogu, Ndidi and Iheanacho, I will say everyone else was subpar in the first half. Leon and Akpeyi (were 3 and 0 respectively)

Bros I salute your knowledge of the game. Indeed against common lore Rufai was past his pick when we went to USA 94 and Tunisia. He was terrible at corners and slow to react. Goals he conceded against Ivory coast and Zambia exposed his flaws. But I think his flaws was glossed over because he was in a team made of winners. His penalty save against Ivory coast further cemented his position in the team. Regarding Eyeama he did not become gold over night. The exposure he got in the England game and the confidence it game him went to shape his career but even then it was a long journey. We should remember he was turned down by Bolton before he want on to establish himself in France. My issue with him is he is a drama queen like Oliseh. And he did let down this lads and the country. When Ikeme was out many tried reaching out to him even house committee on sport but he never responded back. I think he should chill where he is.

What struck me about Uzoho performance was his confidence, he immediately took a commanding position of his 18 and rose to the occasion when questioned. He also was very good at ball distribution one of the most important qualities of a keeper in the modern game. His ability to initiate attack with his ball distribution and range of his kicks enables our game. I think for me he should be given a chance

Key points about the game

Uzoho's distribution, he always finds his man when distributing. Key for a team looking to lauch quick counters. I am tempted to give the boy a shot and forget Enyeama for the WC. He will be a top keeper.

Ndidi's workrate, this man is a work horse..it is almost ridiculous how hard, he works. It is no coincidence that he is EPL top tackler.

Kelechi's sharpness, gradually returning. His eye for a pass appears to be returning too. Good for the future.

Ebuehi's talent, i watch this kid almost every weekend so i am not surprised by his delivery. He is well schooled and does everything well. The only fear was whether he could perform at a higher level. He proved himself. Di maria is still somewhere in his pockets.

Balogun's rustiness, this man needs games before the WC.. We need him at his best.. Personally, i would have played him in the center of the 3 man defence, because of his lack of pace.

Elderson's in for a battle, We might be seeing the end of an era.. Idowu and Aina can certainly do a job. Aina is not a wing back though.

Nigeria's Counter Attacking, it is obvious that Rohr is working a lot on counter attacking football.. A solid defence and counter attacking could be critical against the big teams.

Mikel's king, this man is the undisputed leader of this team. Absolutely critical.

” What a match. We started well, successfully held them in the early stages of the game, but the goal scored by Nigeria before the half time break was the turning point”,

” We were physically outplayed by a very strong opponent, and we calmed down a bit, and we paid for it. It’s good that this is not the World Cup yet. We will slowly sort things out”.
