That said, it is ok that you insist on giving 10% of your income to these religio-bisuness organizations ran by pastorpreneurs.

What is not ok is for the so called pastors to so defend this tithe doctrine so so much without offering ONE SINGLE biblical verse to back up their claims. Freeze gave us the Deuteronomy verse and a few more yet not one pastor that has spoken on this matter has gone anywhere beyond the Malachi quote.

Facts are that there is no evidence in the bible of Jesus paying or collecting tithe, none that the early apostles collected or paid tithe and no evidence from contemporary materials that anybody collected or paid tithe. These whole tithing eish is a new age addition to Christianity and it came right about the time the Catholic exchequer was emtying due to papal over-involvement in European wars and politics. Some people believe in tithing, and are at peace with that. They believe steadfastly it works for them. Good for them.
Some don't believe in tithing, and they feel it's never worked for them. Also good for them.
Its all about choices.
Nobody is going to hell for not tithing, and I've never heard any preacher say that (i know some probably have, but ive never heard it).
But the most important of all is for us to do charity. Help the needy. Find a cause and put your all into it. Is your passion or sympathy with orphans? Is it with indigene students who can't pay school fees?, Is it with the sick? Many need your help in hospitals, is it in rehabilitation of drug users and prostitutes? They abound all around you. Choose one and make an impact.
What is however distasteful are christians shouting tithes are being paid to rogues, yet dont pay any, and yet won't still help those around them.
Let your life reflect the Christianity, not Judaism btw.

Concerning what you said about the New testament having No drop of the mention or command on tithing..Pls read Jesus words to Some group of Pharisee in Matthew 23:23.

And again, Bishop is adresing born again Christians, He wasn't saying this in a crusade but in a church.

Tithing for Christians is a Covenant obligation, Do it joyfully and enjoy the dividend, vice versa.

As an ordained Pastor, I believe in imploring and teaching people about giving generally and not to build on a faulty foundation.

I've heard some folks say if you don't pay your tithes, ur life will be tithe: i dont agree with that. As a matter of fact, u might be the richest Christians from the human viewpoint fir having even tot of paying ur tithes, but true riches are not far form those that pay their tithe..U r far from the covenant blessing of those that do pay their tithes.

He built those universities with tithe money yet majority of those who payed can't send their children to those universities. Sad reality with our pastors.
