From the little history I studied in school before history was scrapped from the curriculum, Edo belong to the bini's AND NOT IJAWS they should go back to bayelsa or the creeks or where ever the HELL they came from.

Its a pity the ijaw people has turn to the black sheep of the country. Less you forget. Go and ask Jessi people what happened after trying to struggle land with the oba. Be wise. a word is enough for the wise

Ijaws like trouble, they have forgetten that the Benins and other tribes in Edo state are also War tribes.
In this case, there is no contest, you cannot be a visitor in another man's house and want to claim Lord over his property.
I hope this is peacefully resolved!

And because they are war tribes they may wage war against the ijaws in their own land ? undecided

The ijaws should not make us go back to our ways of old. We are one of the most peaceful tribes in this country and if you come to Benin you will notice that it is a city where almost every other tribe has come to settle down. I was born in delta state, i have Uhrobo blood in me...my whole family grew up in delta state and we know how to crace if e wn start but violence is not good. Imagine me when dy go church go come go dy mark my body with agbasimama and ogun'oba and afiagbighidi just because i wn fight....abeg make dem no let us enter shrine again....e no go good oooooo

My friend, you started well until you began delving into your so called Benin folklore you know next to nothing about. That so called folklore is as told by the Ijaw.
Benin never migrated from Ife. The Benin folklore says that their ancestors originated from the sky. Therefore, the Benin king then was known as Ogiso, meaning king of the sky.
Ife came in when the kingdom started having internal strives.Since they could not agree on a king among themselves, they then send to their prince who had earlier fled to Ife to escape been killed to come and rule over them.
It was this Benin prince who had become a ruler in ife and is now called oduduwa, that sent his son to rule Benin.
As you can see, my friend, there is no where in Benin folklore where it was said that the Benins migrated from Ife. It was only a Benin prince who had now become the ruler of ife, that sent his son, oranmiyan, to rule Benin in his stead. And only when the Benins requested him to come over and rule over them
Thank you my brother from rescuing him from the ocean of ignorance.
People go just dey jump enter wetin them know nothing about

From history there was no ogiso as king but ogisos as warriors cum judges...i stand to be clarified on this if you have a contrary view

maybe u are mistaking me for an izon man....i aint one...am an owiesan...and i am an Edo boy. The ijaws are lovely people its just the illiteracy rate in most of their communities is high and they just feel the violent taketh it by force so they like applying that same technique most places but if you live in south south u will know dat nobody has monopoly of violence. We have seen bloody confrontation with the Ebira people of border issues....Okene fight was just a small one and a community fight.....The ijaws are only attempting something very risky because Edo state is the only state the Edo speaking people have and we are not like the ijaws who are found in other states apart from bayelsa so what we are telling them the ijaws is that you can live with us in peace but you cant take an inch of our land because Edo is all we gat....nothing else.

I agree. Which is why i'm an advocate for peace, when the SouthSouth is concerned everyone of us are demons ! That one i no go lie.I'm a very cool and lovely man, but under war, i put on my battle uniforms, the ijaws will trigger a regional crisis if this isn;t nipped in the bud, i remember the crisis of recent memories, Ijaw and Ilaje, Itsekiri and Ijaw, this one won't be compared cause the Benin people are also a mighty people. It's time for all parties to send delegates to the FG, what is the governor waiting for? A full blown crisis before he acts? We should speak up, callradio stations, air our views and do all we can to make sure our voices are heared

The problem with the ijaw is that they think they can make everybody cowtow to their demands.
They don't even take time to know and understand their would be ennemies and they just start the trouble.
These people in their foolishness thought that the Oba of Benin meant "Oba of Benin City", when they saw the Monarchs of Edo north and south coming in support of Omo n'Oba n'Edo, they didn't understand, they still don't understand that those monarchs are subjects of the Oba of Benin.
Learn this ijaw: Omo n'Oba n'Edo. Francly, I would be in support of just chasing the ijaws away from gelegele and capturing that guy whom they "crowned", beating the hell out of him and making him walk 50 kilometres naked in front of tv crews and their cameras.

The Ijaw attitude needs to be fixed in the SS. We are tired of hearing Ijaw at the centre of almost every SS problems. What is it? Have they forgotten we are all descendants of warriors? If Ijaw disturbs the SS too much, then other clans should rise up call a meeting and discuss with their elders before blood is spilled. I'm tired of hearing Ijaw every now and then at the centre of every crisis.

Ijaw, you guys need to stop your fabrications, and get more educated. Edo history is too well documented. And contrary to what you think, the Oba of Benin is not just the Oba of Benin City. His real title is Omo n'Oba n'Edo. He is the King of the Benin Kingdom. Benin City is only the capital of the Benin Kingdom, not the Kingdom itself ! Edo state is a small part of the Kingdom and you ijaw are trying to crown a "king" in a part of an already established kingdom. I hope you people can understand this and stop your madness ! When you migrate into an area, try and learn the history of the land. Don't just start making claims of "we were here first" and don't start "crowning" your "son" in a foreign land, you might get slaughtered by the owners of the land. This is an advise and a warning!

Advice n warning to who no need am.
