Apart from Ronaldinho, Messi was/is the star of the team when he played with those players.

And he was not a star over Ronaldinho because he was too young then.

Henry left UK being the greatest player ever in the EPL, to be like the 4th best player in Barcelona.

Here is what Henry himself has to say about Messi.

You are a cretinous fccktard!

So he played for barca means the experience he is relaying is not factual or does not matter, cretinous fccktard?

Or that his team rep pegging did not go down from his time in EPL to when he move to Barca?

An honest question for the Ronaldo fanboys: do you honestly believe that if Messi went to a team like Man City today, he wouldn't absolutely wreck the Premier League, even when Aguero who is not worthy to lace Messi's boots, is the best striker in the Premier League? Cos the notion that he has to leave Barca to prove himself has to strike you as silly.

Messi is not European, so why would he have a Euro trophy? grin And Ronaldo simply fluked his own. Ronaldo has more Ballon D'Ors because Messi won his own when they joined the FIFA award with the Ballon D'Or, while Ronaldo won his own seperately. And which head-to-head are you talking about? Please, elaborate.

In any case, to be honest, I don't really care about statistics even though many statistics are in favour on Messi and others for Ronaldo. I judge them based on what my own eyes see and how they influence games and their ability to conjure the magical. And Messi beats Ronaldo hands down. But that's my opinion.

Maybe not the very greatest ever, but THE GREATEST OF HIS GENERATION, and he's surely up there with Pele and Maradona. The argument of him leaving Barcelona to "prove himself elsewhere" (especially in that mickey mouse league they call EPL) is just a weak effort by haters and critics to question his greatness. Asides winning the world cup, he has NOTHING! to prove to any disgruntled critic or hater.

His brilliance, wizardry and legacy remain untainted FOREVER.

Napoli won 2 Serie A, 1 coppa Italia and uefa cup while competing every other year, and they r not a big club.. before d late 90's Serie A was next after d EPL.. Spanish league has just 2 big clubs that win every year until recent atletico started competing ..u are talking to a Milan fan here. Don't even let me start with fiorentina

U intentionally choose to forget that it took Messi a long time to agree to a contract extension. If he was that happy why did he take a long time to decide to extend his contract?

Your post just show u have little idea about players' happiness and how they negotiate contract, their reasons for either staying or leaving a club. I would ve schooled you, but just go with your ignorance.

What moronic argument.

Because people delay in signing a contract extension is certain evidence they are not happy at their current place.

I suggest you take some time to educate yourself in the art of negotiation. You are in no position to school anybody.

Talking shyt about something you know nothing about to back your moronic, unreasoned and unenlightened point.

In the 90s, Seria A was the top league. They were kings without rivals. Only the normal RM and Barca were any competition.

EPL cold not even compete with the Dutch and Portuguese league back them. When the likes of Kanu, Yekini, Finidi and Amuneke were playing in those leagues, it was a HUGE achievement.

If you hear Ajax in the mid 90s, you are hearing total football and you knew who was going to win. They had the likes of Kluivert, Davids, Seedorf, Litmanen, Kanu, Finidi, Van Bronckorst, Overmars, Blind (the father of Blind now in Man U) and one dutch black guy with a name starting with R, I have forgotten. He later played for Barca.

PSV too was deadly.

Re: Messi's Decision To Stay At Barcelona Ensures He'll Never Be The Greatest Ever by Nobody: 6:22pm On Nov 30, 2017
Lolz. Ronaldo is a genius to be able to maintain being mentioned in the same level as messi. I am sure by reading comments here that most ppl here dont actually football. Now let me analyze this international trophy palaver.
1. Portugal in euro 2016 were third of the group and qualified as best losers despite being in the easiest group possible, they did well to scrape through games in qualifying while ronaldo to his credit scoring some vital goals but, renato sanchez was the star of the team, he was the the main catalyst which led him to winning the best young player in the world that year, and in the final against france, ronaldo got injured in the first few minutes, and it was eder that secured the 1-0 win.
2. In the world cup 2010 ,Messi on the other hand drove the star studded but underperforming argentina past the group stages with four goals, admittedly the goals dried in knockout , but who can forget the class assist for dimaria to knockout switzerland , di mari was good also,

Goal.com and op have a a lopsided view of this issue, why would he want to move when he plays for one of the best teams in the world, being paid well and also being treated well, what more could he ask for?
Going to to other leagues to ply his trade does not justify his greatness, do those other leagues not compete with barcelona in Uefa and get ousted out?
For someone who says if he would contend with a wet pitch and stoke city....lol, The kings of the English premier league have all been subjected to Messi's mastery and brilliance, talk less of stoke city.
And for those saying Ronaldo has gotten a trophy with his country,Everyone who was privileged to watch al portugal's matches in that tournament would know that Ronaldo was anonymous in most games, rather Nani was the man for portugal. And yes Messi has international accolades to his name like the U20 world youth championship in 2005 and the Beijing olympics in 2008

Most of the goals scored by pele were not in competitive matches, Ronaldo scores goals, Messi scores awesome goals.
To me, Messi remains the best that has ever played the round leather
those Messi goals are awesome and incredible!

when he scores, the fans always open their eyes and mouth in surprise, in awe.

very good example is the 2016 barca match with Madrid where he scored two unbelievable goals.

life tire those Madrid midfielders lol grin grin
Re: Messi's Decision To Stay At Barcelona Ensures He'll Never Be The Greatest Ever by Nobody: 6:52pm On Nov 30, 2017
But as per GOD's will, lost in final at extra time to germany.though messi won the golden ball
3. Messi then went to lose 2 succesive copa america finals at penalties to chile(tough luck) while being the best player in both , yet ppl somehow claim messi doesnt perform at international level
4. THE argument that messi cant perform at epl or others is ridiculous at best, luis suares terrorized english defences before coming to barca, morata left real madrid to humiliate(the mighty stoke away.smh), salah came on at 67th minute to score two goals at stoke and epl in general, sanchez left barca to become a terror in england, aguero, silva, debryne, ozil, even tiny richarlison of watford and a host of names, so MESSI of all would flop in epl(nigga recieve sense) ,in fact, neymar would be king if he decide to come to epl, so messi of all ppl. And comparing messi to ronaldo is getting ridiculous day by day.pls enough is enough.
