How did Etebo and onazi drop form? Last time I check Etebo has two goals few weeks back and onazi with an assist last week..

Is it cos is being long they played in SE?

The Onazi i saw was a shadow of him self , you need to watch other games , and dont judge by that cameroun match , most of the players performed above average in that match .

Really? Below average in what match? Can you support it with facts?

you are missing the point. Victor Moses is good at dribbling, it is conspicuous and no one is trying to gainsay that. The point is that how many of those dribbles led to goals and chances created? at the world cup, you may meet teams with good defensive setup that will make your “excessive dribbles” not to count by not yielding any goals. Ever since he recuperated from injury, he has been unplayable in the wing back role. He recorded an assist and earn his club a penalty on Saturday and on Tuesday against A. Madrid he was a delight to watch. He created two good chances and caused the Madrid's defense problems. He did all these playing as a wing back. And I believe that with the freedom he enjoys when playing for the SE, he will put up better performances when going forward as a wing back. And also allowing Mikel-Iwobi-Iheanacho attacking combination to go uninterrupted.

What am happy about is ability of Rohr to experiment am very sure he will be used as wing back during one of our friendly...
Let see how is going to fair by then

I understand your point bro...
but I think...idowu should be tried in another friendly...his overlapping runs and being always in the Argentina team yard box...is something of good...better than every LB we have had of recent.

Yes, he should be tried as a LB in a four man's defence as well as LWB in a 3 man's defence before given finally verdict on him. This should also be extended to other players fighting for slot. But if Elderson is fit and playing regularly for his club, he is a sure bet to make the list. No doubt about it

Okay, they are not his age mates? Okay Sane, Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Kevin de bruyne are around his age, these ones replaced the known names, are these one not performing? Do they have issues with trapping ball? First team football is business, EPL hardly forgives, infact most top leagues don't forgive slip ups, it's business and not a skill acquisition center, if you're lucky to be liked by a coach who is ready to cover for you, fine, if not, he ships you out or get you a seatbelt.

Salah, Lukaku, sturriage, mertens, bojan, Sandro, Moses etc suffered these same treatment and they went out to better themselves. Why are some of you so full of excuses for your liked players? Like he's being targeted because?

I don't have time for sentiments, I say things the way they are. BTW, which one is first fault, second fault? You kinda funny to think that way.

Football don't forgive school boy errors, let him work on himself (ball trapping) and see if he's going to be ignored by any serious coach. Who can ignore Moses, Salah, de bruyne, Sterling, lukaku, Ndidi now when they are performing to their ability?

Lastly, I repeat, club football is business and has got no time for sentiments or patien ce for players to learn the basics.

Very aptly said, in the EPL time is a very expensive commodity. You learn quickly or be dropped quickly.

Great eyesight, Dortmund is a place he can freely develop and enjoy game time.
TheGoodJoe:

Coach, I will stone you salute if you sell Nacho. Honestly. It is not just about Nacho not playing regularly but Puel style does not give me excitement. Let see hat happens. But, if Nacho will leave Leicester City, my advice to him is to look for a club with a history of creating chances and also have a history of free flowing football.

If there is no chance for a sale, I say he seals a loan deal to Dortmund if he has secured his passport.

Dortmund is in need of a finisher. Playing as a sub to Aubameyang will work because in the limited time Nacho gets, he will have chances to score. Keep in mind the current boss of Dortmund, Bosz was the same manager who handled Traore at Ajax who is currently with Lyon.

See. I know Silva is good and I have been watching him for years, since Valencia. Even in Silva's U17 and U20 days. However, there is something about him that leaves Guardiola marvelling at Silva's understanding of the game.

I am yet to decode it.

I will share if I decipher it.

I personally thinks Silver got the flair, vision, skills and most importantly the character of a champion.

He made Man city what it is today.

Musa should find his way back to Russia If possible, alot of clubs will gladly pick him up there. He's too useful a player to waste away!

No Musa and Iheanacho can't continue like this, they just need to sort things out by January, playing in U23 or U21 to remain fit is a thrash not good for Super eagles player.

Wow, it's now about role? I give up.

Okay iheanacho can trap ball and doesn't need to work on this aspect of play.

I think I need to move on now because the excuses are getting more ridiculous.
kennysville:

What does that translate into? The people you mentioned werent in the same role as Iheanacho. If yes, is he playing only CF? Is he not also a midfielder? Why not give him chance on the wings? Sane met Iheanacho in the team. Besides, they dont even play in the same role. There were 3 known forward men at City. Aguero, Iheanacho and Jesus. If you are keen about teaching a player how to play, then the first person to really get benched and fastened to the seat is Sterling. What say you to that? Can you explain the week in week out playing of sterling who gets into shooting positions and passes to the goalkeeper? Had feeble attempts at goal most times. Here you are, saying football is business. Yes we know but at what expense? Destroying someone elses's career just so you can look good or building peoples lives?

It hurts but it is the truth. Time will tell how far Guardiola goes with his ideologies in the EPL. Truth be told, Iheanacho has soooo much to work on. Work rate wise, he is behind others but how does he get the chance to even show his work rate with 5 minute cameos? Until these answers and many more are answered, please lets stop bashing this boy.
Thanks

This may not be as easy as you think. Dortmund are looking for a top striker to guarantee them goals.

As it stands he doesn't fit the profile for a team with high ambitions. The more he stays without showing quality ability the worse it will get. He should look for a loan move to another EPL club which again will be problematic.

My advise he should look at lower clubs in the Bundesliga and La Liga, if he can get one on loan.

Otherwise he should pray he has a great World cup 2018 and use the SE to promote his career, otherwise it will be further down hill.

"I remember when I was in Barcelona," Guardiola said. "The first or second year I was there, Unai Emery, who is now the PSG trainer, was there [at Valencia].

"After the game we spoke about that and he told me, 'David Silva is the player for you, for Barcelona. Believe me, that is a player for Barcelona by far'. And he was so right, he's a special player

"He has something more special than awards. Awards are to put in the wardrobe."The opinion we will have in the future about his career will not be about how many individual prizes he has won. It will be about the opinion of his team-mates and his managers."

What Guardiola is saying here is that, now he is working with David Silva, he can see that Unai Emery, current PSG manager was right about David Silva being up there with Xavi or Iniesta.

I am still watching.

How could Guardiola see then when he was perturbed with 'pass..no no...I say pass..again again...don't dribble like Messi... I say pass..' grin

Bros, David Silva might not suit into that system and Guardiola knows that. What he is doing now is psychological. He is so subtile. grin

Hmmm... learn sha? What is he supposed to learn? How to do the basics? Was he having that problem before pep? This is a guy that was sooo confident playing no 10 position. For you to play that role, you must have a good degree of ball control and distribution. I think the awe of Guadiola took all that away from him. The need to please a manager who doesnt even rate him. You are saying was I not amongst those clamouring for his exit from Man City?. My answer is an emphatic yes! I was and I still stand by my statement. Iheanacho got frustrated out of Man city. Would we say Sterling fought for his shirt? Like seriously? Sterling was crap when he got to City. Much worse than Iheanacho. Yet he played week in week out. He got some right , he got a lot wrong.

Sterling is putting up good perfomance because he had chances upon chances given to him by his coach. Same cannot be said of Iheanacho. Lets call it what it is. His confidence took a hit when Guadiola arrived. If Iheanacho got half the minutes that sterling got by virtue of his coach confidence, he would be firing on all cylinders.

This takes me to his leicester team. Everyone wants this guy to have scored at least 10 goal by now but the reality is he got injured before the season even started, bear in mind also that he did not participate in any form of pre season tour whether with City or Leicester. I dont do sentimental analysis. Those who know me know I do objective analysis. The dude hasnt had much starts since this season began. The dynamics in the leicester team is not the same as what we have in Man City.

I dare you to bench Jamie Vardy for the next 6 games and start Iheanacho in front. Pair him with Okazaki and ensure Demarai Gray is in the mix as well and lets see who will return better goals ratio... Until that happens, those saying he isnt quality should stop talking. Thank you

Disclaimer: I dont hold any brief for Iheanacho, I rarely sing his praises. I only pointed out areas in his games where he seems lacking and needs to improve upon. The dude needs game time. End of story

Sterling was always way ahead of KC by a huge margin. He was leading vthe front line for Liverpool when KC was playing youth football.

For what Pep wants hard truth is Sterling is much better.

You are making excuses for a player who simply has been unable to adapt and perform. You earn the right to play week in week out by top performances. Vardy has proved his ability KC has not simply put.

You are putting other players down who have proven ability to promote your favoured player. KC is a very good player that is not in doubt but to pull others down to push him forward is not the way forward.

Constructive criticism with a more objective approach would be more beneficial.

I will explain why I am trying to fit Onyekuru in and not Ahmed Musa or anybody else.

There are teams you come up against and quick passes will not work, Iceland is a perfect example. You can stand infront of their backline and make 20 quick passes but those guys won't move until you come closer and you see that they will double up on each of your players what do you then do? You need quick dribblers. When you have a player who can just beat his immediate marker that creates room instantly and serious panic through the opposing teams rank(this is why I believe Iceland will be mincemeat for Argentina precisely). Now we don't have Messi but we have Onyekuru and Iwobi two guys who are nice(not great) dribblers and under normal circumstances we will place a CF who can pass the ball well and engage in your one-touch-two-go football, in that same way Onyekuru or Iwobi(depending on who is well-placed) can make those Alli-esque runs when the CF falls back and joins the passing triangles in the middle.

Against Croatia though is another thing entirely. We will have to adopt a system similar to Barcelona 2015. These guys midfield will kill us if we engage them so here we sacrifice midfield play for outright direct football. Rakitic is a briliant DMF when he plays there and someone said Kovacic hardly plays for Madrid, well that is because he is out injured, he recently returned and has already played a game for them, pure quality, no need saying much about Modric. There is another problem too, their midfielders all have wonderful shots so they should not be allowed to even come so close to our post which is why I wouldn't play Onazi. In this type of game we need direct players, once we get the ball we should take a maximum of 3-4 touches and get the ball to the forward players without dwelling on midfield play
Nice analysis.

Your formation requires good "wing plays", meaning that we need V.Moses at the LWB role and Ebuehi at RWB.

In an unrelated matter.

Shocked with the shuffle in the managerial positions at Everton due to the arrival of Sam Allardyce. With the return of Sam Lee. Unsworth who I felt was doing a good work as the caretaker manager gets demoted to the U23 team as their manager. I liked Unsworth methods and I felt with time he was going to get the team playing well. However, he was able to show what he could offer when Everton won their last game under his command 4-0.

Most shocking is the employment of Craig Shakespeare as one of the Everton coaches. We will see how things pan out.

Birds of the same feathers flock together.

Big Sam is of the blood and guts, endeavour philosophy. It may not be pretty but it's effective and may get you out of trouble in the short term.

Shakespeare following him is quite normal.
