Lead us not into temptation because many would not make it out of it.

It's long been known that there were some errors in the translation of the Bible from ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek to the English language. So for the Pope to mention it, it is indeed a welcomed development

To me there's nothing wrong with the translation.

Yes, God is our Father but if we don't acknowledge Him as our Father and give Him His due respect willingly, of our own volition, you car Him from functioning as a Father in your life and unfortunately for you He will watch you fall over and over again till you call on Him.

The Antichrist will come from the Catholic church.
How will anyone want to rewrite or give value to the words of Jesus Christ?

The pope can brainwash his Catholics,
But he should not try it with me if not I'd use a bible to smash his head.

Think una say e done come already. Confused you!

The pope is right !!! The translation " lead us not into temptation " is definitely wrong. The correct translation should be " do not let us fall into temptation "

God dosnt TEMPT a man.. he never tempted job.., rather he TESTED him.. d word of God in James 1
[13] has this to say, "When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;"

who wrote it?

The old testament was written in Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, all here in Africa. The new testament was written in North Africa and the Mediterranean region. By the time it was written Rome was still killing people who believed it.

By the way, the ancient people didn't even call it bible. It was formerly different books that had nothing to do with each other. That's why you see so many contradictions inside.

It was Europeans that gathered the different books together and called it bible. The name bible itself derives from ''Bylos'' the name of the city in Libernon where they bought paper.

No matter how highly placed a man is in Christianity, we must always evaluate what he says with what the Bible says... Not everything they say are correct just because they say so... Check the life of JOB in the Bible, GOD himself led JOB into temptation just to test JOBs faith... We as Christians must always filter whatever our pastors are feeding us... That is why the Bible is written in so many language just for you and I to understand.... Peace.... Weather you super coat it or not you Mah must undergo ur temptation

I agree with you that some people were tested in the bible but God did not lead Job into temptation, God was aware but he had nothing to do with it.

The Pope isn't trying to change the lords prayer but trying to correct the translation, this thing dated back to like 2 millenniums ago there is a chance the originally language they wrote the Lords prayer in doesn't exist anymore, hence difficulties to understand them but he might be right.

If you use google translation you will understand

ONLY THAT IT'S MORE DIFFICULT NOW, THERE ARE SO MANY COPIES OF THE BIBLE, ALMOST IN EVERY CORNER.

UNLIKE BEFORE THAT THERE WAS JUST ONE, IN THE HANDS OF THE POPE.

I REALLY FEEL SAD FOR THESE PENTECOSTALS USUALLY BASHING THE CATHOLICS AND THEIR DOCTRINES.

THEY DON'T KNOW THAT THE BIBLE IN CIRCULATION TODAY IS THE WORK OF ROME, NOT ANY GODS'.

Yes, that's correct. See my updated post.

They will start bashing the Pope now. If it were their Daddies and General overseas, they would swallow it line, hook and sinker. I have heard Pastor Chris fault some translations of the Bible. Even, Abel Damina.

your argument in this case is out of place. Nobody is taking away anything or adding anything to the scriptures. It is about translation. That's why you have different translations of the Bible.

God didn't lead Job into temptation, Satan tempted Job and God knowing the stuff He has in Job, allowed it for a purpose.

Today, it's something to anchor on in times of challenges. We are tempted by our own desires, not by God.

For, let's sit down and meditate about these things before destructive criticism. As long as I'm concerned, this Pope is not doing a bad work.

For those who are mentioning the Catholic Church and the Anti Christ, you have to close your eyes and open your mind to God if you want to make Heaven.

Anything GOD has not sanctioned will not happen to His church. If Satan himself likes let him claim to be the Pope.

The Catholic faith is indestructible, Jesus Christ is our foundation. The gates of hell shall not prevail. Long live the church

How is this news? The church has been removing and adding to the Bible since time immemorial. If you still believe that the Bible is the undiluted word of God , then you are on a long thing.

Rome has always doctored the bible throughout history in order to favour their currect opinion at all time. Not just the Lord's prayer, there're so many verses they now realized needs be removed. I opened a thread for it here https://www.nairaland.com/4143509/catholic-church-no-longer-swear

What you have inside the bible today is totally a whitewashed bible that has little to do with the original ancients texts. The original version written by Africans were in Amharic text (Ethiopian) from where it was copied to Hebrew, and from Hebrew to Coptic, from Coptic to Greek. From Greek to rest of European language.

There's a good chance the essense of the message in the bible has been lost long time ago.

Isn't from there Christianity originated?

That's s how God wants it so oga Pop leave it has it is. If not in years to come other Pop will like to emulate ur steps and change the whole word in the bible.

it is obvious many of you can't even comprehend simple passages. And when you go about spreading the half truths to innocent minds, you promote hatred and lies that are obviously anti Christlike. Whatever we sow, we reap. God bless the pope. Lux et veritas floreantes.
