What does a pastor need a private jet for ? You are so ignorant of what a Pastor does . Do you know that some G.o s have oversea churches in over a hundred countries and will need to with his own schedules and not the schedules of airlines? How come we don't have problems with Dangote and other business owners having private jets but have problems with Pastors. You think those businesses are more importnat than the work of God?

Dangote did not ask people to pay him money to run his business. He worked and made his own money and is free to spend it the way he wants.Pastors live off donations from members. You cannot take donations from indigent church members and live estravagantly. In the US the health sectratary the equivalent of Nigeria's minister of health was forced to resign because he flew in first class. Not even a private jet but for flying in first class.Living off public funds always comes with a responsibility

Galatians 3:10-14

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”[e] 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”[f] 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.”[g] 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”[h] 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit

Of course it sounds very logical.

Like you said "giving a full month salary willingly". The matter with tithe is the compulsion surrounding it and the manner useless talks on tithe opens the gates of heaven and those who don't tithe are robbing God.

If you want to give in the house of God, it doesn't matter how much, what matters is it comes from your heart and you're doing it wholesomely not because you want a blessing in return. I believe if you earn 1million as salary and your heart is content with giving the Church just N50k with no tag or title to it, then by all means. As long as you're not doing it for fear of offending your pastor or being seen as a heretic but doing as much as your heart can give.
The guy you quoted didn't understand his own right up at all......it is logical, there's is much difference between WILLINGNESS and COMPULSION. One can decide to give everything he has to the cause of God or humanity. About the woman they were citing in the bible, she wasn't compelled to give her all, she willingly did. So what's all the fuss about

1. Apostle Paul requested for money

(1 Corinthians 16:2, NIV)

Apostle Paul particularly instructed the people to set aside a sum of money that is proportionate to their income. This was a convenient way of collecting the money, that has now become a trend among Christians every Sunday. Is Paul a fat-fed and corrupt Apostle?

2. Jesus watched as the "Sheeple" widow dropped money for corrupt religious leaders but He did not free the "Sheeple"

- Mark 12:41-

At the time Jesus observed the widow's offering, the treasury was managed by corrupt religious leaders, but Jesus did not free the sheeple widow. Nowhere was it mentioned that Jesus instructed her not to give her last penny! Instead Christ was interested in blessing her seed. Ask yourself, would Jesus partake in the #freethesheeple movement if He and the Apostles were around today?

3. If your Pastor sow spiritual things to you, it is right and appropriate to give him those material things you can afford, and Yes, that includes a Jet!

- 1 Corinthians 9:9-14

You must learn to look at the full picture of what the scriptures actually say. Yes Paul requested for money but the same Paul also said:

1 Thessalonians 2:9

"Don't you remember, dear brothers and sisters, how hard we worked among you? Night and day we toiled to earn a living so that we would not be a burden to any of you as we preached God's Good News to you."

Takeaway: A preacher who is more focused on how to bless the people will be less focused on what he can take from them. It's interesting that modern preachers will say they only collect money from people so that those people can be blessed but Apostle Paul went out of his way not to collect money from the people. Does that mean Paul did not want them to be blessed?

2 Thessalonians 3:8

For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us, because we were not undisciplined among you, 8nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. Instead, in labor and toil, we worked night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9Not that we lack this right, but we wanted to offer ourselves as an example for you to imitate.

Paul reiterates this in another letter to the Thessalonians, showing just how seriously he took this value. In this passage he adds the fact that he and the others who have done this have done so in order to set an example. So why would our modern day preachers not want to follow Paul's example?

2 Corinthians 11:9

And when I was with you and didn't have enough to live on, I did not become a financial burden to anyone. For the brothers who came from Macedonia brought me all that I needed. I have never been a burden to you, and I never will be

This passage shows that at some points in Paul's life and ministry, he was poor. Let this sink in. Now think about what he says in the rest of the passage: even though he was poor he would not allow himself to become a burden to the people.

Conclusion:

Ministers should:

1. Tell the people the whole truth of what the bible says concerning money
2. Be moderate in their requests for money
3. Be self-sacrificing in their requests for money

your bible verses and explanations are correct, but 1cor 16 vs 1and 2 said collection for the saints and who are the saints members of the church not the sole call founder. Jesus is the founder of His own church name the church of Christ Roms 16:16.CHURCH HEADQUARTER
John. 18:36, Eph. 5:22-25, Matt. 23:1-10, Acts. 1:10-12, Micah. 4:4:1-2, Acts. 2:1-2, 9:1-7

Dear reader, it is with faith that we believe that this godly piece of writings has meet you in good condition. We pray that God will give you a ready heart of humility to learn at the feet of God Almighty.

It is with Joy to make known to you God's standards for the Headship & Headquarter of the One True Church...

The Kingdom of Jesus Christ (the Church) prophesied to be established (Dan. 2:44, Joel. 2:28-32, Isaiah. 2:2-3, 44:3, Zech.1:9,16, Micah. 4:1-4, Hos. 3:5) is not of this world and as a result of this, the headship and headquarter of the Church that belongs to Jesus Christ cannot be located in this world (earth).

The Head of the Church is Jesus Christ (Col. 1:18, 24) and being that Jesus Christ cannot operate in headship here on earth,  the headquarter of His Church is in heaven,  though He made the church to begin in Jerusalem (Micah. 4:1-2, Acts. 2:1-47) because man is the focus for the establishment of the Church, whom God desired not to perish, and have rescued from the kingdom of darkness to the Church - Col. 1:13, Eph. 2:13-18, 2 Pet. 2:9.

The church started in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost as God instructed the Apostles to wait there for the comforter whom He will send (Lk. 24:49, Acts. 1:cool. Because He has chosen that it should have a starting point where the law of Christ will go forth for the salvation of mankind (Acts. 2:1-2), those who gathered got converted and became members of the Church .

You need to note that in Acts. 2:2, the Holy Spirit came from heaven (which is show of the place of headship) which keystarted the establishment of the Church without which the church would not have started on that day. In Acts. 9:1-7, you would see Jesus Christ operating from Heaven (the Headquarter of the Church)  and arrested Saul who was persecuting the Church.

The following Bible passages reveals these facts:
Acts. 23:11: Jesus Christ was guiding the Apostles from heaven,  giving instructions on what needs to be done.
Rev. 1: 9-11: Jesus Christ from heaven gave John the order to write a letter to the seven churches in Asia. John did this not as the head of the Church,  but a servant of God who in humility respected the position of Jesus Christ as the Head.
Heb. 12:22-24: Church is recognized from heaven where the head is.
Rev. 20:12,15: The record of the members of the Church today is written in heaven.
Since this is true from the Bible, then why will the Headquarter of churches today be on earth.

The Church that belongs to Jesus Christ (Church of Christ) has NO EARTHLY HEAD & HEADQUARTER - 1 Cor. 3:11

The church started in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost is not the headquarter of the Church, but God instructed the Apostles to wait there,  because He has chosen that it should have a starting point where the law of Christ will go forth for the salvation of mankind (Acts. 2:1-2).

BIBLE FACTS:
* Anyone who sits as the Head of the Church today is liken to the Scribes and Pharisees who sit on Moses' seat of authority (Matt. 23:1-10)
* God has a standard for the His Church and have not chosen nor authorized an earthly headquarter, that is why Jesus Christ is in heaven controlling the Church.
* If the Church is to have a human head, then God would have used some of the Apostles who have had control in the early beginning of the Church.
* Since man is imperfect and the church to be presented to God spotless,  only Jesus Christ is qualified to be the head of the Church which He will present to God without spot and wrinkles - Eph. 5:27, Heb.7:3.
* The only head of the Church approved and to be presented to God on the LAST DAY is Jesus Christ - Eph. 5:23-24.
Beloved,  with the little things exposed here,  I want you to deeply examine the Churches of today that are running through your mind now asks as further questions as we will be happy to hear from you.

You are disrespecting God by saying you are paying him some sums. Desist from this, ignorance won't be an excuse.

If you say you are paying your tithe to your pastor or his church, your mistake may be forgiven. Never is there a place where God or Jesus or the apostles commanded we give the almighty God our weak Naia. Respect yourself and stop dragging God into your church Doctrine.

Some of the messages I got from my pastor while in uni is the reason I fell in love with entrepreneurship.

If his message gets me rich eventually, you mean you will give me a dirty slap if I decide to reward his labour with a private jet?
I will get a dirty slap from a nonentity for spending my money when and how I want it spent?

He was exposing the hypocrisy of those paying tithe then while he himself wasn't paying, nor was any of his members. the only money Jesus paid in the whole of the bible was a TAX paid to the government gotten from the mouth of a fish!

Except you're a jew and from the 12 tribes of Israel, you have no reason to tithe as a christian. except your pastors are from the tribe of Levi, own no properties or earn no income from any other source except from tending to the temple (Which is no longer standing), you've no reason to give tithe to anyone!

What Jesus encouraged was giving in season out of season, without compulsion, generously, privately, without coercion, giving to those who can't reward you. those beneath you, those who don't have and have no place to get from. please concentrate on Christ's teaching if truly you desire to be like Jesus.

Confused 'Christians" na him full this naija. people that don't know if they are under law or grace, people that don't know if they are practicing Judaism or Christianity. lack of knowledge is striking people hard in this country!

What exactly is the need for Jesus's death and resurrection if we still need to give money in the form of tithe before we can be blessed by God? when our works can pay the sacrifice? why die then?

Go and sit down oga. From your post and Bible references you lack adept knowledge of Christ Jesus.
The woman in question put her offering and that was her last penny. (freewill offering)
Now christ was looking at d heart not what is left. He said from the bottom of her heart she gave all that she had....... That penny is equivalent to 2 naira now.
So christ was moved by his faith, heart and willingness to give even the little she had.

About buying a private jet for ur pastor.
I see many of u r beclouded by there brainwashing. Instead of u to tlk abt helping the poor with such money, u buy a jet for a pastor to use and fly for pleasure and tourism.
U mentioned apostle Paul saying something about collecting money, that money oga is for those who has nothing amongst the brethren, the widows, orphans and ministry upkeep.

I believe everything you said but you missed the last point, you still try small, that money was not meant for the poor, I have read it myself.
Paul was never involved in sharing of things for the poor, he concentrated on the word and prayers.
It was Bananas was incharge of sharing the tables.
The Philippians church gave so much to Paul out of their poor state.
That was where this prayer came "my God shall supply all your needs, according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus."

if you had an iota of sense you should have known the statement above was made under the dispensation of the law.Even then it wasn't even important
When you are caught in your own lies and deceit you resort to insults, which is very typical and expected...I'm taking the word of Christ the foundation of Christianity and not your veiled theological deceits..

the money given to apostle Paul wasn't ment for him to enrich himself but to be given to the poor and help him on his journey to preach the gospel not for private jet's

Acidosis:

Oga his argument is about payment of tithe..

Tithing works for me and there is nothing anyone would say to change me...i had a personal convinction nd i am tithing till i die by God's grace.

I was once an unbeliever who criticise this...i would say "look at these pple moving around in their legedese benz..funding their GO's to get jets

But now i know better by HIS grace..

I wont say freeze is wrong...but he doesnt have an indepth understanding of giving

He is freeing d "sheepie" on tithing, has he heard of sacrificial given

He shouldnt even bother to know cos he will develop heart attack when he gets to know wat we are parting with to give as sacrifice not to man but to God who has put it in our hands

Tithes and offerings are used to pay salaries of worker i.epastors, acountants..clearners etc

Their are over 18000 working staffs in my church are they not citizens of this country
Does frezze and his followers know how many family that is being fed, housed nd educated with this salary they earn frm f church

Is it not the tithe that is being use to pay them??
Pls i want to know how the pastor is embezzling d moni cos me i am not understanding

Even d private jets is not bought in d pastors name its in d church name nd i know of times delegates av gine on trips with this jet thats on several occassion withiout d GO's

I pay my tithe
I give to my parents
I give to d needy around me
And i touch lives in my little capacity

And i will continue to do so till Jesus come

You spoke my mind. God bless u for the write-up.
