Dollarization Of The APC Primaries: How Amaehi Vanquished Atiku #saibuhari

The blogosphere was inundated with reports of the excessive sharing of dollars at the All Progressives Congress which took place during the latter part of last week.

One APC supporter and Special Adviser to Osun Governor on Environment, BolaIlori had blown the scandal open after he saw the beginning stages of the dollarization in action.

He took to his Facebook page and scribbled, “Crazy things are happening here!!! Some of these cannot represent the change Nigeria is yearning for. Excessive dollarization by one of the aspirants to is to say the least obscene. I have been involved in political process for decades now, I have never witnessed this volume of raw dollarization of party primaries. I only read about this kind of things in PDP primaries. A question been asked by conscientious delegates is that whoever can be giving out between $2000 to $5000 to…delegates certainly does not represent the kind of change Nigerians want…those who contributed to the pauperization of Nigeria now revel in dollarization… majority of Ondo delegates are still standing with Buhari but have been reduced from 85% to 70% within 24 hours…the remaining has gone with dollars ooo.!!!!!”

One has to wonder how Buhari was able to win the primaries in this era of stomach infrastructure where dollars are like the Biblical manna that God sent down from heaven to nourish the Israelites as they made their way to the promised land.

Sources close to the APC with knowledge of the way the Primaries unfolded have revealed that it was Rivers State Governor, Amaechi who flew back to Rivers State and returned to Lagos on Thursday morning with enough dollars to make Benjamin Franklin blush.

It has been revealed that Atiku offered the delegates $5000 each, but Amaechi doubled it to $10000 a pop. Thus turning the tables in favour of General Buhari.

Since his adventure into the APC, Amaechi has gone out of his way to prove himself a party loyalist, always the first to shoki or azonto at the many events the APC holds, which he himself is usually the chief sponsor.

According to party insiders, Amaechi has overtaken Tinubu as the major financier of the party. One does not need to wonder why he is always at President Jonathan’s throat over misappropriated oil wells or other such business. Anything that diminishes from the State’s coffers will have a ripple effect on his funding budget for the APC.

Ladoja is the most popular and most loved politician in Ibadan. He's also a great asset for PDP.

But Oyo people don't vote party. They vote candidates. If APC puts out someone unpopular they will lose.

But I know Ajimobi would never hand the ticket to any of these people. He's just going to use them. He'll pick someone he can have more control over
Dont mind them, they know next to nothing about Oyo state politics..... Ladoja is better than Akala, teslim, arapaja joined together.... Ladoja is also the best Governor Oyo state has ever produced.

I can bet it with anyone here. These guys would return to PDP in no distant time. They are running away from EFCC prosecution. You know this government anti-corruption crusade uses insecticides for PDP goons and Deodorants for APC folks. They need to protect their investments grin

This clearly shows that APC & PDP are like comparing six and half-a-dozen.
Why won't they frolic and flock together-they are birds of a feather. Don't be deceived!

The house should pass the bill for independent candidacy and see how we can stir the waters of the polity and give shockers. For now, these old egocentric never-do-well-politicians will continue to control the political space.

Old men who have held the country hostage for years hold meetings day and night. They travel far and wide for conventions to discuss how to further wreak havoc on us. They are not just stealing from the treasury, they have the keys to the vault. When given tasks, they accomplish them swiftly. And that is why we feel the pain immediately.

But you the young man who is not too young to run, anytime we call for meetings, rallies, protests, we practically beg you to partake. When you come, you spend the first 1 hour chatting with a fellow nuisance on your phone. When we eventually plead to you to be attentive in the meeting, you listen to respond and attack. Not to learn and contribute.
For protests, you are too handsome and neat to walk the streets. 30 minutes into the protest, you are already complaining of backache, headache and even brainache. When we call for press conferences to address issues, you are always busy. At the end of the year, show us the proceeds of your being busy- there is nothing to show. Being BUSY but not in BUSINESS. I pity this generation.

Is it not oríburúkú ('unfortunate' would not pass the message powerfully as I want) that in a population of over 180 million people with 60% as youths, we are served in 2019 with the choice of Buhari or Atiku? If you don't know, brother, it is called 'eríibú' in Ilorin dialect.

There is a name given to you freely by the generous people of Oyo. It is Òpònú ayíradà. Òpònú ayíradà is someone who wants to enjoy the dividends of democracy without giving his shares in the struggle. Show me the Bank that gives dividends without receiving shares! Show me! So I can report to the E.F.C.C.

Yinmu. Ladoja has to be the most overrated politician in Yorubaland. His political antecedent proves him to be a local champion who has zero weight outside Ibadan (even in Ibadan he usually splits votes with other contenders), so I don't understand why some of you people delude yourselves that he's some political colossus. He lost to the incumbent not once but twice, yet some of you would have us think he's some relevant political stakeholder in the state. Besides, Oyo state is more than Ibadan. Ibadan votes alone are not enough to decide gubernatorial elections in the state. You need Ogbomosho, Oke-Ogun, Oyo and the rest to outperform your opponents in gubernatorial elections in the state. APC will continue to win elections in the state so long as it can continue to split ibadan votes, split or win Ogbomosho, and come tops in Oyo and Oke Ogun. With Akala in APC, PDP will not smell Agodi.

Most people commenting don't know much about Oyo state politics

Akala is the political god of ogbmosho and has been in apc for some time now. one of his son occupies one local government as an apc member

Teslim and arapaja have some leverage in ibadan, but not enough to win an election

Ajimobi has Oyo town locked because of his romance with alafin of Oyo. The alafin has a big political influence in Oyo

Ibadan is the battle ground. ladoja is the strongest politician in ibadan. Certain areas in ibadan will always vote for ladoja. Ajimobi use to have Ibadan sw lga votes, but things doesn't look good for him there anymore. Most roads are terrible in that area.

my analysis

Bottom line, apc will win the next election in oyostate

Toonice:
A former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, was on Tuesday arraigned at the State High Court, Ibadan, accused of misappropriation of state funds, concealment and fraud.

Alao-Akala, slammed with 11 counts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was arraigned before Justice Mashood Abass, with his former Commissioner for Local Government, who is currently representing Oyo North in the Senate, Senator Hosea Agboola; and Chairman, Pentagon Engineering Services, Mr. Olufemi Babalola.

The three pleaded “not guilty” to the charges preferred against them.

The ex-governor’s counsel, Mamman Osman (SAN), asked for bail following which the judge adjourned till Wednesday (today) for ruling on the bail application while Alao-Akala and the others were ordered to be remanded in the custody of the State Security Service.

However, the arraignment of an ex-governor of Ogun State, Otunba Ghenga Daniel, did not take place in Abeokuta as expected; ditto that of an ex-governor of Nasarawa State, Akwe Doma, who was billed to be arraigned in Abuja on Tuesday.

Alao-Akala, Daniel and Doma were all picked up by the EFCC last Thursday and detained in Abuja over allegations of misappropriating a total of N101bn public funds.

The anti-graft agency had said on Monday that the governors would go on trial beginning from Tuesday.

Aides and supporters of Daniel waited in vain for hours in the premises of the court on Abeokuta. There was no official clarification as at the time of going to press on why the arraignment of Daniel did not take place.

One of his counsel, Mr. Yemi Oke, however in a statement at the court announced that Daniel had commenced hunger strike to protest his non-arraignment.

“Because of the worsening condition under which he is being held and the curtailment of his fundamental rights, the former governor has declined food and medication, which has raised serious concern about his health,” Oke said.

He faulted the EFCC for allegedly flouting court processes seeking to enforce the fundamental human rights of the ex-governor.

He said Daniel’s continued detention without formal charges amounted to infringements on his fundamental human rights.

He said, “Under normal circumstances, Otunba Daniel should have been arraigned in court since he has spent more than the required period specified by law in detention. But at the time of issuing this statement, he has not been arraigned in court and no charge has been preferred against him. Yet he is being detained and his fundamental human rights curtailed for no just cause. Only his wife is allowed access to him.

“This morning (yesterday), the EFCC has been served with court processes by Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s lawyers led by Professor Taiwo Osipitan (SAN) and Mr. Tayo Oyetibo (SAN) seeking to enforce his fundamental human rights. This has been ignored by the agency.

“This disposition of the EFCC has left us with no alternative than to conclude that there are other motives for the continued detention of Otunba Daniel other than the investigation of an alleged crime.

Otherwise, he should have been admitted to administrative bail or formally charged to court.”

You are so wrong, it's only illiterates in Ibadan that vote Ladoja, no wonder he has never won Ibadan North where he resides not to talk of Ibadan Southwest. He's overrated as the only election he has won so far was when Adedibu put him forward. In my assessment, the rot in governance in Oyo state started from Ladoja's administration. They introduced brigandage to Oyo politics and we are still grappling with it today. Ladoja's greed and rapacious tendency is the reason why PDP is imploding in Oyo state. He came back from Accord party less than 6 months ago and cornered all the juicy positions in PDP state's convention to his cronies from Accord party.
Seyi Makinde will soon know what will hit him with Ladoja in control of PDP in the state. Ladoja will give Lanlehin the ticket and he'll never win Oyo guber, not when Ajimobi is alive.
Akala has the highest number of bloc votes in Oyo state.
