if you were actually not packaged into the list, just do your normal dutiful thing, no wahala at all. I can categorically say that the battlefield of a thing is a myth or better still hype. You'll hear many Ilorin med student sing the battlefield song or the common incidence of withdrawal (either willingly or otherwise) because of the way the school admits.
Med school challenges are relatively same everywhere, but majority of those who chose med and earned the admission will definitely cope while most of those who they chose/got it for might break down along the line

Good morning.

Please, how feasible it is for me to secure transfer to continue my medical education at Unilorin from 400 level for I have sat for the 2nd MB professional exam in the institution I am schooling.

Over to you.

Morning sir
I'll say you've 10% chance (with strong connection) and 1% (without connection) for such transfer. I'm not sure you can join 400l class.
If I may ask, which school are you at present?

can you please tell me more about unilorin med school, i'm a fresher. Heard it's a battlefield too but i have no idea what i'm up against
also do u think staying off campus is a bad idea for a medical student?
Well, i'll just advise you really take your 100level serious for now.
Get to know the rules involved in promoting to preclinical. Then when you get to that bridge, you'll cross it. Just focus on 100level first.
It's even more a battle now than other levels. The current 200lvl were over 150 when they started 100lvl, only about 83 of them or so made it to 200level.

I don't think where you stay has anythin to do with your success. i stayed off campus in my 100level.

good day all, i am currently in 200l(new set) in AAU MBBS, but i am thinking of writing jamb again next year not because of academic issue. i want to go to a school that have a faster academic calender, i think of applying for UNN , because a UNIBEN MED STUDENT told me UNN are faster than UNIBEN. i just want ur help to know if UNN is truely faster, and apart from UNILORIN , wat other school is faster t , at least 7yrs maximum

thanks

I just gained admission to study medicine at aau.. but what's the essence of changing if it's because of the academic calendar? You are already in two hundred level, if you change now, you ll be going back to hundred level when you ought to be in 300 level, you ll be spending more time instead.. but if you still choose to change, try delsu, their academic calendar is really fast. Remember you might not get medicine again. A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush

u wont understand , u just came into the system,in AAU , u dont just enter into 300l like other school does,u write what we call PRE_MBBS at the end of ur 200l if u pass before u can be in 300l, nd before u will be eligible to write MBBS part 1 NEXT 2 years,

do u know that in AAU, 2014 set have not written their MBBS part 1, before they write it 200l must write pre_mbbs first, meanwhile in other schools like uniben, 2014 set have written their MBBS part 1 and have resumed 400l(clinicals) since this year APRIL, HOPE U ARE UNDERSTANDING NOW nd 2015 set in uniben will be writing their MBBS part 1 next year january which means by march or APRIL they will resume clinicals but 2015 set in AAU have not even written pre_mbbs they are still 200l(A)
which means 2015 in UNIBEN will might even first 2014 set in AAU to enter 400l

IN SCHOOLS LIKE UNN the 2017 set nd AAU 2015 set will graduate together

that is someone that gained admission in 2015 in AAU, will graduate with the person that gained admission in 2017(ur set )in UNN,UNICAL, UNIUYO , UI etc (hope u now see the diff)

and hope u have seen the fees? thats what u will be paying till u graduate

Pls my senior medical colleagues, I need your candid advice. I'm 27 years old, still in interested in studying Dentistry. I so much love this course that I opted out of a particular school at the end of part 2. I rejected some admissions offered me, because I know taking them would carry me away from my real desire. Now I have picked 2018 utme form, with high optimism of getting Dentistry. But you know what? I'm also contesting as ward councillor in my hometown, which is about an hour journey from the school I applied to. Combining academics with politics has never been my headache, but I'm sure I need hints and useful tips from my senior colleagues on how I can best handle both medical program and governmental affairs, suppose I won that contest. No discouragement please, coz I know nothing is impossible. Thanks.

My friend, congratulations and welcome to the college.

1. Rest. Pursue your hobby/hobbies. Eat well and do every other thing. As you do these, find time to read too but softly; just get acquainted with the general concepts of the major preclinical courses - Physiology, Anatomy, and Biochemistry.

2. There are lots of medical textbooks out there; thanks to technology, they can be accessed with your phone/computer at absolutely no cost. Try the ones you can; you'll eventually find a favourite. I don't like recommending books because what worked/works for me may not work for you and vice versa. However, for Gross Anatomy, I'd advise you try Keith Moore. Guyton/Sembulingam would do for Physiology. My best Biochemistry text is Lippincott's but kindly note that this book does not have a chapter on Cell Biochemistry which may be the first thing you guys would be taught.

3. Also note that in most cases, the texts you would use would be recommended by your lecturers...though I keep saying that the human body is the same anywhere..irrespective of the texts one uses (as far as it is of standard and up to date), the knowledge is basically the same. This is MY belief. Maybe you shouldn't buy any textbook yet until you hear from your lecturers.

4. Lastly, brother and colleague, you are now in the College of Health Sciences. You need one major thing in this journey: BE HUMBLE. If you are humble, you'd scale through with little or no hitch.

Again, congratulations!

I managed to finish second year, coz I expected change of dept. And I wish I completed d program, But for the apathy I have for d course I was doing then, fear of not being able to study medicine again after graduation, natural ego, fear of having less than second class upper, anxiety of job prospect. It is painful to wait, but extremely painful to regret.

Ok, no problem. All is not lost. God will make a way for u. But when u're finally given admission, remember to work hard o! Medicine and dentistry are hard. For one to pass 2nd mbbs/bds, it requires extraordinary hardwork and God's help. See u there.

I knew already that getting BDS or MBBS honour is more than just a walk in the park. In as much I get what I have passion for, scaling through will be an added bonus. The way I have passion for medicine is almost the same way I have lust for political power. Thanks for your prayers and advice, it's hightime I buckled up.

Between unical and uniben, which is faster and more superior.

I say "superior" because I read somewhere that graduates of uniben and few other top federal uni wouldn't need to write any exam bfor practicing in the Caribbean (a country like Trinidad and Tobago)
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.
