PLS HOUSE,I NEED PROPER GUIDANCE PERTAINING THIS APPARENTLY ELUSIVE BIRD CALLED NIGCOMSAT.I USED MY QSAT IN TRYING TO NAIL IT,BUT EVERY EFFORT PROVED FUTILE.I FIRST GOT 98% SIGNAL QUALITY FROM DSTV POSITION,THEN BROUGHT D DISH AN INCH DOWN,THEN A LITTLE TO THE LEFT,YET NO RESULT,AFTER I HAD INPUTTED ITS REQUISITE FREQUENCY OF 12518 H 25000.CONVERSELY,MOVING D DISH TO THE RIGHT YIELDED MULTI TV AND AMOS @ 16.I REALLY NEED NIGCOMSAT.PLS ADVISE ME.THANKS.
It seems qsat has a problem with Nigcomsat-1R. The signal 87% on my SRT4922A but I have tried all I can to make the TP green on my q28g all to no avail. All other satellites have high signal on both Ku and c-band but it rejected Nigcomsat-1R.

With my Cyber Café (120cm dish), that was restructured by myself, I tracked DSTV first (within 3 minutes), then I changed to 42e Nigcomsat TP with the following techniq :
from DSTV position, slightly shift the dish to the left (while standing at the back)

Slowly move the dish downward. Continue trying. It can be frustrating because the point of hitting green is very narrow.

Unlike other positions like DSTV, star times, multitv etc which are of relatively wider points of signal reception, that of Nigcomsat is very narrow and it needs Perceiverance.

Signal : 80% during the day, 82% at night.

Hope someone can advise me even though this isnt fra related.
My dstv has been hving signal issues of late.
I hv tried asjusting the dish n lnb..yet the intermittent cracking video persists.
The signal strength has refused to go above 60 to 65%
While the signal quality increased from 55% to 75% _95%
I feel i need hifger values of sognal strength to stop the cracking video.

So need help on how 2 go about it

I am trying to remove irrelevant SATs from my 4955 channel list using ndf editor but the stb refuses to accept the edited file. Any one ever done this successfully with 4955?
Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by Lunsat(m): 2:11pm On Dec 22, 2017
How do you extract channel list from 4955, edit it to remove useless SATs and put it back? I couldn't get the stb to save it on flash. I edited one from 4930 using ndf efitor and tried to upload but the stb got stuck in the process and had to reboot.

Why is everything in Nigeria different?
Others you can track within minutes, but Nigcomsat takes forever.
I wanted to help a friend of mine track it since he saw it at my place and liked it.
Within the first ten minutes, I got it. For my mind, na chairman I be. grin
I watched some of the channels and noticed it was cracking in some channels a little, just minor stuff.
I tried to tweak it to stop, but it wasn't changing much. I should have left it like that.
I decided to track it again and for over three hours I was on top of the ladder, trying to track but no show.
I moved the dish where it was jeje and climbed down, make I leave am for another day.
Abeg, apart from the Dstv style, which other way can Nigcomsat be tracked?
My friend might think I don't wanna help.

Hello earthrealm,
the signal strength on your receiver is okay but I don't know if the signal quality on your receiver is fluctuating or not and if it is fluctuating then follow this steps and find out the problem with your setup.
1. Check if there is any obstruction to the line of sight to your setup and if there is none then check no2.
2. Remove the coaxial cable from your lnbf. Check the tip of the cable to know if it have rusted or expired. The tip of the cable will be having substance like white powder if the cable have expired. Change the cable if it have expired but if tip have rusted then cut off the tip of the cable.
3. If the problem still persist after doing all these then change the lnbf.
