Our attackers in 94 cannot be compared to our present attackers.
Remember, the 94 team went to the world cup on the back of winning the Afcon .
Same cant be said about this team with 70% experiencing their first big tournament experience with the NT on the back of a very poor form.
The odds aren't in our favor

A good number our players were playing in the creme de La creme of Europes top leagues.

Yekini was top goal scorer in the Portuguese league.

Amokachi was tearing it up in Belguim, Finidi, Kanu, Oliseh were Ajax products to mention a few.

Kelechi actually lost his starting position in the team to Ighalo after the loss to to South Africa. Odion would have started that friendly if he was fit . By the way, Kelechi started that game in Algiers, why haven't anyone mentioned how poor he was on the night?

I have been screaming my head off about Mancity's under development of Kelechi, even when his numbers were good. I saw through his performance. Not everyone understood what I was pointing at till last season and this current season.
Converting him to a striker was the worst thing to happen to his career. Even if he was to make the conversion, it shouldn't have been this early in his career.

The @bolded is what people can't understand.

I was the first person to blow alarm three seasons ago that Solanke is a far better player than Kelechi but people don't know why I said so.

I studied both players and I discovered Kelechi relied on tap in to score goals while Solanke will take on 2 or 3 players before he scores.

This study took me days, weeks and some months to make my conclusion.

Now, today Solanke is on the ascendary while Iheanacho is going down. Why?

Because Manchester City didn't believe Iheanacho talent lays behind a striker hence the need to convert him to a striker.

That was the biggest mistake of his life though not his fault.

Rohr self could see for himself Iheanacho is not a striker hence the need to play him on the RW and later as false 9.

People shouting upandon about him here are of no good to his career. They are his biggest enemies.

If his club wants him to stay, he had better stay than roam around clubs he is not sure of getting a start but if they want to sell him, France is better because he no go smell bench for German. I don't like the league for Nigerian young players.

THe boy is not a striker. Manu Garba screamed his head off , pointing this out. The man who discovered him in Owerri said the same thing.
These guys molded Kelechi, they know more about him than anyone else.

Poor Musa, bless him. He would have been flushed down the toilet here if Kelechi wasn't having it rough.

This right here is a false assumption.

Yeah true.

But one thing that has this team going is team chemistry.
Modern day football is not just about the number of star players you have but more of how you utilize your strategy to produce optimum performance from your players.

I am really happy the Croats are writing off Nigeria based on the number of big players they have and for us the lack of it.

They will not know what hit them come that day.

What chemistry

That's all assumption are you there and so they don't need quality just chemistry.

Do you know that Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham hated each other with a passion but played excellent for Man U and England.

Team chemistry is needed on the pitch not in thier personal relationships.

this first touch thing is over hyped, lukaku too has a poor first touch and he's always hit double digit for his clubs

Yes that's true.

But the reality he never really needed it, he was too fast too strong throughout his career.

Go and check out Lukaku when he was 16 destroying men old enough to be his Father.

In the January window managers are looking for in form strikers who will bring what they are looking for goals.

I stand to be corrected but I can not see many EPL teams signing KC or Musa to lead thier attack. Considering thier current form.

Thier best chance of a loan move will be the Championship or another European league.
Promotion chasers in the championship can take a punt on them.
Hull, Aston villa, Fulham and clubs like that can guarantee them good playing time.

They cannot start for any other Epl team and Kelechi wants that passport so bad. Championship could offer an interesting solution.

E be like say Iheanacho knows that he won't be listed in yesterday's match because he has been enjoying himself in Iwobi's house since yesterday.Check out Alex 's snapcaht) The guy looks like a happy follow despite what is happening to him at his club

That is what you see when you are invited to the national team on a platter of gold without club performance.

because this French coach don't have any utter regard for him and musa.....
the man is blind to nancho abilities and same wit musa....

any club coach...like westham, Bournemouth, Brighton etc will play him....but this very coach have no regard for him....

let's be optimistic...Leicester was never the best option for him....their style of play never suits him........

I understand a better world cup performance will push his stock....but he need to be playing competitively until then...

I can say this to you categorically Bournemouth and Brighton will not buy him and will not play him.

It would be even worse than Leicester.

West Ham possibly but I doubt it.

For those of us that feel Iheanacho should go on loan.....

I would rather he gets a personal trainer to work with, train with and also have extended hours of fitness training. God forbid bad thing.... injury is not needed at this time for him or any other player. We have already lost Henry Onyekuru to injury. (I am seriously praying and hoping its not a serious i jury and that he recuperates faster. )

He (Iheanacho) needs fresh breeze, clear mind, clear environment , focus and determination. He needs to take his mind off all the drama surrounding him. He should start thinking beyond being a goal poacher. Be a complete forward. It will be impossible for Leicester not to turn to him. They should just hope none of their top forwards fall short. As claude Puel has said, he will come through in the right time.

Some areas seem normal in some teams. but inasmuch its the se, setpiece is a big big deal to me. i rem the way teams defended setpieces against us cos our stats were damn poor in that area. so kini big? setpiece conversion ni o. why? wc bound se needs it as a stepping stone for respect.

Taiwo Awoniyi could be on his way to EPL next season due to consistency this season.

Yesterday, he assisted with a goal.

Have you seen the boys in the U23's waiting for a chance Then add to who they might bring in during the January transfer window and I very much doubt it.

Then finally who will he displaced Coutinho

Club football extends into that national team.

The entire basis for your selection to the national team is your exceptional quality performances in club football.

Club football and National team Football are intrinsically linked they complement each other. It's like taking a striker who has lost club form to the WC believing that he will suddenly find form. It will not happen.
Klose comes to mind prior to South Africa 2010

I agree with you, Onomah might be the AMF we might have been searching for.

I don't really know for the NFF sha.

Tega is an exceptional player he is a modern midfielder that has done away with unnecessary show boating and playing to the gallery.

Excellent vision as well.

That is just the simple truth hard for people to swallow here.

Iheanacho needs to be revertedreverted back to his natural position and starts playing regularly but I don't think he can achieve that at his current club except a miracle happens.

Hence, he needs to go to where he can play regularly in that role and become our Griezman but na passport dey worri am pass.

Not in Liverpool.

Liverpool wants him to play in England next season and that was why they sent him on loan to getting playing time. Peradventure, he gets a work permit due to the playing time.

If you've been monitoring my comments, you will know I stand up for players in less fancied leagues.
Jobie once said I liked mediocrity probably because I argue in favour of the less fancied league players. I have had strong arguments with tbaba1234 about my stance on the so called backwater leagues.

I prefer a guy in China or Turkey than a regional league or U23 league player.

Musa and Kelechi need serious kick on their backside. They must be made to understand they have to earn their place in the team.
They are too diplomatic with Leicester city for my liking. Kelechi and Musa should be leaking to the press their desire for more playing time.
Their agents should be leaking stories to the press to force Leicester city's hand.

Taking match rusty players to a fierce group of death like we find ourselves is a cause for serious worry.

It's like 100 metres in the Olympics, you cant expect a guy clocking 15 seconds,6 months to the games to medal.
Tbes guys need to start playing .

Match rusty players, playing as a team will never do well in a global event.

Gbam!

He had talent but he was not groomed. Iheanacho had talent but he was not groomed. That was what Pellegrini did for them. The grooming of Sterling happened under Brendan Rogers.

Actually you are wrong.

Firstly, Liverpool paid £1 million for a 14 year old to QPR. He then in a sense had to make it , he was exceptional scoring sometimes 4 goals in one match his pace made him stand put. I even know Ghanaian player who was much more technically gifted than him that was dropped to make a smooth pathway for him to the first team.

It was Kenny Dalglish that gave him his first break, then Brendan cemented it. But he didn't keep his word about new contract terms particularly when he Raheem was leading the forward line. He left to City.

The rest is now history, for me it was Pep that pushed him to the next level and has been the most influential in his career.

I don't think anyone will get Kelechi and reconvert him to a Wing forward or ATM.
The world now see him as a striker. His body morphology have changed so much to suit his new role.
He has no other option than to improve as a striker. Judging from what we have witnessed so far, it is very easy to see his celine.
Man city and Pelegrini really disfigured a promising career.

Playing time in top European league and others factors.

People would have preferred Iheanacho on the bench for Silva, Nasri and Yaya Toure in the name of developing him over what Pellegrini did, leading the young man to produce stats as the greats.

I will take Pellegrini's opinion when I look at the catalogue of those who respect his input to the game.

Form your players who singlehandedly won leagues for their teams, another who kept against one of the best teams in the world 2 years ago, scoring fastest goals in leagues.

These are good players, I like them don't get me wrong.

Your dislike for the other players who are favored at the moment is what gets me off.

Which dislike?
