I May Now Believe In The Supernatural by Nobody: 10:34am On Dec 31, 2017
I've always been sceptical whenever the issues of supernatural powers are spoken of.

I traveled down to my village (Etutekpe in Kogi state, Igala land) for the festivities. I felt this is a perfect opportunity to verify my claims. I asked a cousin if he truly believes that these powers exists. His answer was simple "This city people una no know anything". I was like, you are uneducated, you may have been seeing well scripted tricks by those who do things you think are real.

He didn't want to argue so he asked me to get a knife, he went into his room, brought out something and tied on his waist, then he asked me to try cutting his flesh with this knife. I was scared because I felt I'd injure him but he assured me to do it, so I did, to my surprise, he wasn't harmed. He then removed the thing on his waist and asked me to try again this time being extremely careful because it will cut, I tried without much force and alas, I saw his blood.

This is before my very eyes. How do I explain it. my scepticism has been skewed a bit.

I want to see more before I leave the village before arriving at a conclusion.

Your cousin is just a magician. Some possibilities:

1) He made you use a blunt knife for the first test with the charm and deftly switched it for a sharp knife for the second test.
2) He used a knife that is blunt on one side and sharp on the other side and led you to switch the sides after the first test.
3) The knife you used was blunt but he used a trick to make something like blood appear when you tried to cut him the second time.

Here’s how you can expose him. Go and buy your own sharp knife. Ask him to wear the charm and repeat the test. He won’t do it.

Why must he tie something? I hope he didn't hypnotize you with whatever he brought out.

Magic tricks are very deceptive!

the knife was never switched according to him. He held the knife while his cousin was loosing and unloosing the charm. He even applied less energy the second time compared to the first.
.
It amazes me when people criticizes what they dont know. This stabbing charm is childs play in my hometown where i schooled. In my senior secondary school years, guys in my class engage this charm so much it was very common. Immediately they do it, they brag about it the next day in class. You will use all the cutlass in the class captains corner to strike all their body parts it wont enter but bounces back like you hit a car tyre. People that attended public local boys only school in ondo 2003-2006 will testify to this. Sh1t was rampant then

It’s hard explaining the 3rd dimension to Someone who only experiences 2 dimensions, until they experience it they won’t know what it is. Experience is always the best teacher, no one can teach you what you know better.

There are different parallel realities and universes. The OP got a tiny glimpse and his perception changed.

It is not really magic, just another world that has always been around you. A world where other rules are sets on objects.

I am quite grounded in philosophy and schooled in logical thinking. Yet, I find stupidity in all arguments against the existence of the supernatural on the basis that it can't be empirically verified.

The supernatural is not designed to convince your physical observations. It is meant to confound it.

LOL. Save yourself the stress. Try give someone a blunt knife to use on you... then see.

Some possibilities or some of your assumptions to further strengthen your delusion of the non existent of the supernatural?

1) He made you use a blunt knife for the first test with the charm and deftly switched it for a sharp knife for the second test.
2) He used a knife that is blunt on one side and sharp on the other side and led you to switch the sides after the first test.

Chai, and you are making all these assumptions as if it was you that it happened to and not the OP himself. Why are you guys always like this? This is the epitome of dishonesty to oneself.

Why don't you point out where the OP made mention of the knife being switched after the first test?

Here’s how you can expose him. Go and buy your own sharp knife. Ask him to wear the charm and repeat the test. He won’t do it.

The OP himself got the knife, not even the other guy. The question you should be asking the op is whether the knife he got was sharp or not. And even for the fact the the knife cut him after the first time when he it didn't cut him for he had the charm on his body shows that the knife is very sharp. By reasoning, you can see this quite well, but because you are hell bent on believing a lie in other to further your delusion, you are trying every possible means to rationalize it as if you were right beside the op when it was happening. Smh.

see bro all those ''so called'' magicians in america and hollywood are just bunch of tricksters and illusionists. Nothing supernatural about them. All those conjuring birds and rabbit out of thin air is just well timed and well practised tricks. There are tons of videos on youtube that exposes them. I'm talking about experiencing real naija juju. Just witness oshodi riots, brawls and fights. You will see touts displaying all sorts of charms at the face of death. The one with lesser dexterity ends up with his intestine out or his skull crushed into pieces. No joke

my referring you to that link is to show that the person who experienced it being sure no knife was switched doesn't mean no knife was switched, same way the viewers of magic shows could've sworn Houdini made a real elephant disappear

Nowhere did the OP mention that his cousin touched the knife to suggest sleight of hand. Stop being dishonest all in an attempt to disprove what you never witnessed.

Some months ago I stumbled on a post similar to this one.

The dude was boasting of his Mercedes Benz car being perfect and challenged people to come and test it out and confirm for themselves. An unknown person took up the challenge to go meet the so called perfect Mercedes Benz owner. His Benz failed to start that day despite his claim that his Benz was perfect.

(with my above analogy, one bad Benz means all Mercedes Benz cars are bad right?)
