I have often struggled to contain my surprise whenever 'anti-saracenism' apologists quote the Quran and Hadith to justify the theft of Jerusalem as well as the ongoing apartheid in Palestine and Israel. While watching a discussion on Jerusalem aired by RT (Russia Today) a few days ago, I had to question my dad if he could think of any reasons (other than theological) which justify the horror and injustice being meted out on Palestinians. As expected, none came to his mind. Theology which was meant to guide humans and make them ambassadors of justice is now being used the wrong way.

In my own view, there should be little space for all of these nonsense in the debate. Historically, before the Jews and Arabs came onto the scene, Jerusalem was peopled by Cananite tribes. Through ethnic cleansing (in the eleventh century BC) however, Jews took control of it and maintained it for a millennium before losing it to Romans finally in 70AD (they lost it temporarily several times before this). Arabs only came there in the seventh century after seizing it from the Romans.

Given the history of how nations are born, it is rather inane to even suggest that Jews have a right to Jerusalem (except maybe the religious right to their temple). As one activist explained, the argument of the Zionists that it was the land of their forefathers and therefore their own is nonsensical. Following such a line of reasoning, Turks could fight for a new Turkey to be carved out of China and Probably Japan. The mongols of Iran as well could annex the regions of China they originate from and rename it Mongolia (as it was known before). No human being with a grain of sanity will of course support this. It would be condemned by all. The creation of Israel should be judged that way as well. It was no surprise Professor Shlomo Ben Ami (a former Israeli ambassador) called it 'a nation born in sin'.
There is today a good number of Jews who have thrown themselves into the struggle for Palestinian rights. Prominent among them are Amira Hass, Miko Peled, Professor Avi Shlaim and Rachel Shabi.

Admittedly, Palestinians have made several mistakes in their relations with Jews. It will be evil however to deny them their just due. East Jerusalem (which is all they demand for now) is theirs and should be given to them. Theology and whatever else can follow that. #Free Palestine.

NB: The descendants of the Cananites who lived there before Jews and Arabs are still very much around. The chief negotiator for the Palestinian Authority Dr Saab Erekat is one of them.

Op, your claim that there is no evidence for the night journey of our prophet (SAW) to Jerusalem got me laughing. I could not believe my eyes for a moment.
No scholar worth his salt will even begin to seek evidence for a SINGLE NIGHT JOURNEY by ONE MAN. It will be a complete absurd endeavor. Such belief are taken on faith alone.

NB: A majority of Scholars of history dismiss the Exodus as 'one of the many fictions of Abrahamic faiths'. There is no evidence for it at all in Egyptian writing or any other near eastern one. The belief that it happened is taken on faith alone.

The Israelis are not the Israelites of the Bible, they are the gentiles that have trodden the blessed land until the time of the gentiles is completed.

The UN General Assembly's emergency sitting of 21st December 2017, where 128 nations voted No to Trump's declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel is the proclamation of Peace and Safety as written in the Bible which we are told is what will bring in sudden destruction or rather THE DAY OF JUDGMENT, and the APOCALYPSE, or revelation of Christ.

The Apocalypse of Christ is upon us.

AgentOfAllah:

I believe Analize701 is talking of Yathrib (modern day city of Medina), however, this person's understanding of the story is rather very unsophisticated. First of all, Medina is an oasis, but of course, naturally formed. It was not converted by the jews as (s)he claims. Also, I'm not sure about the day Muhammed attacked, but the outcome of that attack was devastating. In some ways also, inevitable. During their stay in Yathrib, the tensions between the Muslim and the leaders of some local Jewish tribes simmered and eroded the trust that allowed the Muslims into Medina in the first instance. I guess the Muslims felt betrayed also, because, in spite of them acknowledging the Jews as among god's chosen, and even praising all their prophets and what not, the Jewish leadership in these tribes, though accepting Muhammed's political leadership, refused to acknowledge the supremacy of his religion. Some did convert to Islam, but many didn't make it a secret that they considered Muhammed's message a fraudulent rip off! On several occasions, they would rebuff his attempts to convert them by asking him difficult questions. So, in spite of his wide acceptance in Medina, he wasn't universally liked by all the leading tribes there.
For some reason, Muhammed chronicled his frustrations with this set of Jews in several parts of the Qur'an, apparently, as god's response to them. This is just one of his responses below:

So what happened?
Before the Muslims arrived Yathrib, it was a relatively stable free market economy with no real leadership, just a bunch of tribes, each having their own tribal representative in a sort of community congress. These tribes were a mix of Arabized Jewish tribes like banu Aws, core Jewish ones like banu Qurayzah and Banu Nadir; as well as other core Arab tribes and perhaps others that were unrecorded. Around the year 622AD, Muhammed was invited to Medina to come and settle a dispute between two of the leading tribes then, Banu Aws and Banu Khazraj, as he was seen as trust worthy. Among the conditions for his participation was that as an independent arbiter, he was to become the de facto leader of Medina, and his decisions would be final. Made sense, as many found his judgements fair; and even became Muslims as a result. He also instituted a representative theocratic government in which Jews were expressly allowed to govern themselves in accordance with their own legal codes, but they were still subject to state taxes instituted for the welfare of the state.

Unfortunately, during one of the battles with the pagans of Mecca, the battle of the trenches (so named because the Muslims were grossly outnumbered and decided to protect themselves by digging trenches around their city),one of the Jewish tribes, Banu Qurayzah, conspired with the Meccans to attack the Muslims from behind, perhaps because they weren't happy with their new subordinate status or maybe their mistrust for the divine claims of Muhammed had reached its climax. Either way, they grossly miscalculated. The Meccans had planned to weaken the Muslims by siege; and then Qurayzah would finish them off, but the siege didn't last long, as the arid climate with its treacherous sand storms frustrated the Meccans. Meanwhile, the Muslims got wind of the intentions of Banu Qurayzah, and marched on them as soon as the battle was over. The leadership of banu Qurayzah had betrayed one of the key provisions in the Medina constitution, and Muhammed, knowing the punishment for this kind of betrayal according to Jewish traditions would be severe; and at the same time, navigating around a tense political situation (at this point, the Jews of Yathrib were still vastly more influential in the city than the Muslims), he appointed the leader of banu Aws who had converted to Islam, to pronounce judgement on banu Qurayzah according to the Torah. The judgement was severe: Kill all male members of the tribe that have attained the age of puberty; and enslave women and children. This was a politically deft move! He at once, eliminated his political opponents, while not incurring the wrath of the powerful Arabised Jewish tribes in Medina. But it was just asi stupendously atrocious. Nevertheless, it solidified the Muslims' stronghold on Yathrib and allowed then to subsequently institute more severe strains of their theology.

Your interesting twist of facts is quite funny and very sadly shallow. Given the length of your post however, I will not waste my time refuting any of it. It will be better if you can read a real Muslim view of what happened. The article below might be of help:

I wonder why people cannot write a truthful or unbiased article

Its on record the Muslims conquered Jerusalem from the Christians ( a treaty was signed by Umar and the Christian head safeguarding Christian property and lives).

Umar chose a neglected land to build the al aqsa mosque (the same spot that had been shown to the prophet Muhammad on his night journey) . later people discovered it contained the foundation stone.

When the prophet had the night journey: where he claimed to have been taken to Jerusalem (a journey of many months in that period) and heaven by angel jubril.

People showed disbelieve (of course I would too) but he described in detail a city he had never visited before. This was in the years when he was not even allowed to leave Mecca.

German Muslim scholar replies on TERRORISM. I liked the answer of this German Muslim scholar when he was asked about terrorism and Islam. He said. "Who started the first world war? Not Muslims!! Who started the second world war? Not Muslims!! Who killed about 20 millions of Aborigines in Australia ? Not Muslims!! Who sent the nuclear bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Not Muslims!! Who killed more than 100 millions of Indians in North America? Not Muslims!! Who killed more than 50 million of Indians in south America? Not Muslims!! Who took about 180 millions of African people as slaves and 88% of them died and were thrown overboard into Atlantic ocean? Not Muslims!! No, NOT Muslims!! First of all, You will have to define terrorism properly. If a non-Muslim does something bad. It is crime. But if a Muslim commits the same. He is a Terrorist. So first remove this double standards. Then come to the point. I am proud to be a MUSLIM !! ARE YOU?? SPREAD THIS Message & don't BREAK THE CHAIN!! IF YOU ARE PROUD TO BE ONE. BUT WE WILL ALWAYS BE A PROUD MUSLIMS MAY ALLAH PROTECT US..... Good morning my Brother's and Sisters.

No doubt Jerusalem is the third holiest city on earth and so shall it be till the end of time. The current controversies over the status of the city will not change anything.

Mr Trump and his advisers failed to realise the connection to the city of the world three major religions. There must a reason why 128 UN member nations voted against Trump's decision aside from religion.

Religiously, many of us fail to fully understand the history of the city and its connection to a number of religions. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were meant to be one continuous religion from a single divine source. Somehow things happened along the line and we ended up with three different religions opposed to each other in fundemental ideology.

Islam recognizes the intimate connection between Jerusalem and Prophets of the Jews but the religious significance of the city isnt racial but the acts of piety and worship of the Allaah. All the three holy cities on earth have historical connection to noble Prophets and Messengers of Allaah.

Makkah and the Holy Ka'aba

Makkah is the holiest city on earth and it host the holiest place on earth - the Ka'aba. Many believe that the place where Ka'aba stands today is the point where Allaah was first worshipped on earth (by the Prophet of Allaah Adam, alayhis salam). Ka'aba was built by Prophets of Allaah Abraham and his son Ishmael. And Allaah accepted the work by these noble servants, blessed it, blessed the city that surrounds it, and blessed its people, food and water.

Madina and the Prophet mosque

Madina is the second holiest city on earth. It host Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) mosque, his final resting place, and the final resting place of many of his companions.

Jerusalem and the Al-Aqasa mosque

Jerusalem is a city of noble Prophets of Allaah. A city of monotheism. A city of piety. A city revelation. A city of worship. It hosted numerous Prophets of Allaah sent to the Children of Israel. Al-aqasa mosque is believed to have been built by the noble Prophet and servant of Allaah Jacob (pbuh) and was later used by other Prophets like Solomon (pbuh). Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) led all the Prophets of Allaah in prayer during his night journey and was the direction Muslims faced during prayer for the first few months after prayer was prescribed. Allaah blessed the mosque and the city to honour His pious servants who established His worship in the city.

From the foregoing one can easily see that holiness of a city doesnt come as a result of the people who settled there first or because of the ethnicity of its inhabitants. Rather holiness is because of people's devotion to Allaah and the rightful heirs to such cities should people who follow the footsteps of the Prophets whose steadfastness in the worship of Allaah was accepted and honoured by Him.

Historically there were people (Canaanites) in Jerusalem before Moses (pbuh) was directed by Allaah to enter the city and fight its inhabitans with a promise of victory. There must be a reason why Allaah (who created th earth and to whom in belongs) directed His Prophet and Messenger to enter the city and fight its inhabitants.

These aside, the main issue today is Israel's aggression towards the non-jew inhabitants of the city. The resolution of the international community is that of a two state living side by side with the status of Jerusalem to be decided in a negotiation by both parties. But Israel backed by US want to take all.

What I said wasn't proposed by African authors, but by the international linguistic scholars.

Yes the classification come in 20th century AD, but this even make the classification to be authentic compared to the past. Science improve though time, so this means 20th is better than 19th or other century.

Abraham and his descendants communicate with Egyptians using mutual language/s (Egyptian or other language in which both had understood).

According to recent linguistic studies, Semitic languages are more related to Berber languages than Ancient Egyptian language.
Do you really think Abram descendants spoke Berber's language related language? My friend, Egyptian had a more detailed inscription about their past glory and both archeology and Bible mentioned the reign of pharaoh's existence in the Bible. How can you identify the Berber's language of ancient times, when Egyptians language was the dominant language? The Egyptians, somewhere along the line enslaved Israelis. And this was how their story begun in a dynamically way. Despite the fact that Abram was called out of his ancestors house whose ancestors migrated to the different part within the Mesopotamia area around 10BC before settling down. The point here is that, if you as a man moved out of your original land and migrated to a new place, then it is certain, your third generation will likely loose your original mother tongue to the new environment they now occupy . This is a simple logic without. As far as I have see and done research on this subject matter, everything about Israel point to them as developing a language through Egyptian's. If you think, the Egyptians is absolutely different from Israelis or don't have any connection, then let me ask you some questions: what language did Moses spoke with pharaoh?,What language did Joseph spoke in Egypt? What language did Abram spoke in Egypt? What language did Jacob spoke with his in-law Laban that he served for many years?

Yeah it is.And many of us seem not to understand that, the ancient Israelis (Canaanites) first owned that land because their ancestor known as Abram was the one God gave that land. This can be found in the account of the interaction between Lot and Abram inside the Holy Bible . The Bible specifically mentioned it. Today, the Israelis is the most developed agriculturally in the Middle East and with advanced technology on a deserted land. The Arabs in that area had oil yet depends on the West for a lot of things, ranging from cars, weapons, food etc. Shouldn't that be a good example to those against the Israelis? Although at times, the Israelis go on offensive that need them to be cautioned. This doesn't change the fact that Abram owns that land and rightfully belong to his Sarah's descendants, despite the fact that his Egyptians maid's son known as Ishmael descendants can stay there if they become peaceful with their half brothers. Funny enough, Ishmael was a peaceful man when he lived on Earth. But the curse on Ismael descendants is what makes them wild and prone to uncontrollable anger. Then on the issue of Donald Trump, If you think spiritually, perhaps he was positioned for a lot of purpose and he will fulfill the purpose he became the President of United States of America . And truthfully Jerusalem belong to Israel.

If you know about Middle Eastern turbulence during different reigns of tribes that migrated to Middle Eastern location, you won't debunk my assertion. The last man that created a new order in the Middle East was Prophet Muhammad. And Islamic religion took root from thence. So you didn't know Israelis were already slaves in waned Assyrians cities, Babylonians cities, Egyptians cities, Greek cities before Roman came? Even King Herod wasn't a patrilineal Jewish descendants. Go and read more on the history of the people living in Jerusalem during the period of Jesus.

Oga your plunder is claiming Jews where slaves an captive to the Romans. Jews were captives and slaves to other nations you mentioned , that means they were captured and taken to those places but the ROMAN EMPIRE didn't operate that way ...they had colony right within Jewish nation that's why you had , Pontius Pilate as a Roman rep,..was is not the Romans that crucified Christ ,so why your claim? Or did they crucify Christ in Rome?. Don't twist history

The cities of Gaza and Judea and Samaria(west bank) was Philistine cities but The people you called Palestinians today are mainly Jordanian and Lebanese descendants they have nothing to do with Philistines do prober research yourself...and if insist they were then it makes your argument even void because "Philistines " were mainly Invaders who had not inheritance in Jewish Land ...do your research not emotions

Spoken by who? who was the first to be taken to Egypt as a sold slave ? Do you know the tribe of Laban? What language did Jacob spoke with Laban? There was no Hebrew tribe speaking any Hebrew language because the language became formed during Moses period. Moses was educated in the Egyptian writing and knowledge. If you have contrary evidence, post it.

ButJacob came back from Lebanon house before going to Egypt during famine

First thing first!

It's not all Jews that don't believe in Jesus christ.
And one more thing , it's not that some Jews don't believe in Jesus christ, some are just envious of his status .

Many of the commenters are so very ignorant. You pointed out the obvious.

There are Messianic Jews. They follow the Jewish tradition of observing passover, sabbath, etc. At the same time they accept that Jesus was the promised Messiah.

Yet, they are not Christians simply because they don't follow the Christians way of worship.
