I have a problem with the bolded. I have seen European and South American goal keepers who are still crap with disjointed technics, poor game management and often, quite shocking anticipation.
A guy like Almunia stole a living at Arsenal, he he doesn't particularly excel at anything.
Jose Pantalimon,Gomez, Tim Carroll, Paul Robinson, Hilario, Helton and a host of others had fantastic coaching early but they were absolutely crap.
How they managed to play top flight footie is pure providence.

You make a valid point but i'd argue that lacking fundamentals is more common in countries where keepers do not have good early grooming.

Almost every top Nigerian keeper, i know, struggled with catching crosses in their youth. Enyeama for instance only improved that part of his game when he went to Israel.

a player who must play in a system that suits him must be prepared to be a journeyman except he is already a well established and accomplished player and even that is not a guarantee. coaches play their style amd wants players to fit in or ship out. some coaches change style to match opposition. so more versatile and adaptable players would get more game time.

The way people were pushing for Iheanacho's move from MCity to LCity that's the same way they are now pushing for Musa move, forgetting that Iheanacho's move made gave him more experience in bench warming. yes you are right that for now there is no comparison between keshi and rohr however one cannot say because of his achievements we will not remember some of his mistakes. I will consider myself one of the big bosses staunchest supporters but I know some of his player selections then were somehow. From Agbim to gabriel reuben to uchebo these few stand out for me but the decision that had me scratching my head was his refusal to take Ike uche to the world cup even though he was our best performing striker at the time. Yes he qualified togo for the world cup but remember it was his falling out with emmanuell adebayor that led to Togo's poor performance at the 2006 AFCON while he did coach mali he didn't achieve anything of note with them. So no matter which way you cut it his critics have enough mud to throw at him but for me he will always remain the legend and great of african nigerian football.

As for rohr he failed with niger and didn't achieve anything of note with gabon and burkina faso so he still has a lot to prove

Nigeria: Musa Not Going to Turkey, Says Agent

Super Eagles striker, Ahmed Musa is not interested in a move to Turkey. His agent Tony Harris said the player will remain in England and take his chances with the Foxes.]


There are indications that Turkish Super Ligue side, Bursaspor and Leicester City are in negotiations for a loan deal for Musa who is yet to start a game for the former English Premier League champions this season.
Bursaspor's representative Hasan Parlakay confirmed their interest while speaking with reporters.
"Ahmed Musa is a very influential player who will be able to add value and class to us," Parlakay said.
"If we are realistic, we cannot buy him. But he wants to play with Nigeria in the World Cup. For this you have to keep playing and keep form in the league. We have players in our team from the same national team, [Mikel] Agu and [William] Troost-Ekong.
"Wearing the Bursaspor shirt on loan until the end of the year is an attractive offer. We hope to give good news in the coming days."

However, Harris who disclosed that as much as three top Turkish clubs are keen on having Musa, said the dashing winger will not consider a move.
"We have indeed been approached by the top three clubs in Turkey but Musa is not keen to go to Turkey just yet.

"There's a big chance that Musa will remain in England. I'm however, surprised about the link to Bursaspor.
